  1. We've been to BA twice and thankfully never saw/experienced the horrors Dan did. Had maitre'd call cabs for us from a few late night dinners but also walked peacefully back to the hotel from another. Did put my feet up and had my shoes taken off but that was for a great pedicure. Seriously, you need to be careful everywhere but just be sensible. Have a wonderful trip Mia and enjoy Buenos Aires!!!
  2. Trust me. Being a lady with longish hair and traveling 30 days near or below the equator on Nautica, there was a LOT of time spent in the bathroom. Looking forward to seeing the changes when next on Sirena (door vs curtain) but now know to shower in the spa as well on our next 24 day tropical cruise. That being said, we love the intimacy of the R ships - our first being Insignia in 2005, but enjoy the dinning venues on the bigger ships.
  3. Are assigned boarding times the new norm at Ft. Lauderdale?
  4. The Middle East is always going to be a tinderbox. Been several times including 2x in Egypt shorly after major "events". Go when you can and can accept the risk factor. Abu Simbel, Luxor, Petra - all beyond imagination.
  5. Our TA sent us the teaser for the 2021-2022 Tropics and Exotics. Several new ports in Asia and cruising by Deception Island and Paradise Island in Antarctica.
  6. Good to know. Doing 24 days on her later this year so one less thing to fuss about. Marina has not yet been "updated" so our last TA was a bit of a challenge. Thanks.
  7. This is what my friend said they were told at today's Q & A with the Captain, Chief Engineer and hotel manager: "Apparently the fuel they took on in Limon last week doesn't mix well with what they had been running on and clogged the mixer. They were hoping to get topped off today when they discovered the issue but the Merida authorities said to would take 3 days for them to get the right fuel."
  8. 3:30 AM announcement from Holland America: "Westerdam is now sailing for Sihanoukville, Cambodia, where the current cruise will end. We will arrive at 7:00 a.m. local time on Thursday, Feb. 13 and will remain in port for several days for disembarkation. Guests will be able to go ashore. All approvals have been received and we are extremely grateful to the Cambodian authorities for their support. Guests will disembark in Sihanoukville over the next few days and transfer via charter flights to Phnom Penh for forward travel home. Holland America Line will arrange and pay for all flights home, in addition to the full cruise refund and 100% future cruise credit already communicated."
  9. A friend on board emailed that there was an announcement last night at dinner that "there is none of the fuel (they are) running on available there" so they are skipping Merida and returning to Miami slowly.
  10. Correct. That was the problem. The plate in the middle is non-functional.
  11. We walked in and the first view of the Treasury is breathtaking so you want to savor it. We did a lot of climbing to see the inside of tombs and houses. We had a private guide who had earlier hired a cart to take us out. It will be hot, strenuous but worth it. Bring your own water. Because we had our own guide we were able to stop a Wadi Rum on the return but the time was REALLY tight.
  12. Marina has several so I suspect Riviera would as well.
  13. That's what I bought and had hoped to use on Marina but due to the configuration of the outlet it wouldn't fit.
  14. This was from a recent sea day on Marina. Hope it helps.
  15. Good idea for no matter where you may be traveling to in the near future.🚤✈️
