  1. Probably one and done on CC, as well.
  2. I would have loved to read your post, but the font size is barely registering on these old eyes. I gave up about a tenth of the way in. Of course, maybe I should blame the font size on the weather.
  3. Gratuities are separate. Called DSC...Daily Service Charge, (or Discretionary Service Charge...okay, not really. But wanted to raise the dander of some of the folks responding to the endless "Tipping" post on this board). DSC is $20 per day per person in most cabin classes and added to your onboard account to be paid at the end of the cruise (unless you choose to prepay them before the cruise). Jeans are more than acceptable in all restaurants. Shorts and jeans are all I wear on a cruise...along with a few shirts, socks, shoes and unmentionables (even though I just mentioned them).
  4. If I had known your name and cabin number before you set sail, I would have sent flowers, champagne and a stripper to your cabin. Maybe next time...
  5. Except she said they wanted a one week cruise. Plus, depending on the time of year (I assume winter, since they live in MN) the younger kids might not be able to miss school for two weeks (unless over a holiday). In any case, I would recommend the Southern route.
  6. People say I have the same problem...and I've never had any surgery. Go figure...
  7. When we were on the Prima, they had Starbucks cups in the buffet for "to go" coffee. Not sure I remember seeing that on other ships. But, I'm old and don't remember much.
  8. But you HAVE to wait...you have no choice...unless you have a time machine. 😁
  9. This is shocking! I always thought @RocketMan275 came across as a pretty personable guy. 😁
  10. Our Escape TA in November, 2022 was about 60% capacity. Everything was open. No waiting for anything. It was great.
  11. Yes. We get one every cruise.
  12. Even worse would be missing the ship in the Azores on a westbound TA and having to fly back home. Having said that, we did an independent tour in the Azores and had no problem. I guess we like to live on the edge. (As opposed to the Prima, Encore, etc.).
  13. Real-life experience here: We're on the Jade next month. Couldn't decide which was better...buying a couple CruiseNext on the ship, or buying $500 for the price of $250 during the promotion last month. We had thought that if we could apply stockholder OBC to CruiseNext, it would be a no-brainer. But we since found out you can't. Ended up going with CruiseFirst. Easy to get the double credit vs. waiting for a Double-Up CruiseNext offer. And no waiting in line and dealing with the spiel from the staff. (And yes, I understand how the OBC thingy works for CN). Just easier to buy CF and be done with it.
  14. So...whose ankles get to use it? Just the people on the beds...or anyone who feels the need to soak their ankles? Or little kids who want the water to only go up to their ankles? Like a splash pad...with beds. And, no...for once I'm not being facetious. Plus, I'd like to know who came up with this goofy idea and where they're working now.
  15. Agree with everything you so astutely said. I wish I could like this post 10 times.
  16. So...I don't get the concept of having beds in that "pool" area. Is the pool "private" for the people on the beds? Or can anyone use the water? If so, that must be pretty awkward to be hanging in the water with strangers lying on beds right next to you. And the people on the beds are probably thinking, "Hey, hey, you, you, get outta my pool". (Sorry, Mick)... Who thought this was a good idea?
  17. Good to hear. It wouldn't make sense to reprice a cruise if, for example, your cruise dropped $250 and to get the new fare you have to forfeit the additional $250 from the certificate.
  18. We're on the Jade in three weeks. I guess we'll see if MMMV.
  19. Unless you're calling from prison. I believe those calls are collect (from what I've seen on Dateline.) 😁
  20. Aren't the DSC amounts broken out and applied to your account daily?
  21. This board is full of discussions where people struggle with the CruiseNext OBC. Other people have no problems with it. Again...YMMV. But back to answering the OP's question, it appears that short of buying a CruiseNext on the open market, the only other option is to buy a CruiseFirst.
  22. Yeah, one drawback of using a TA is the need for them to put you on hold forever while they connect with NCL to verify your Veteran status. Same thing goes for if you have any credits, or future cruise certificates. Dealing directly with a PCC eliminates those issues. Having said that, our TA gets us perks that our PCC can't offer (OBC, prepaid gratuities, etc.). So sitting on hold to save a few hundred bucks is worth it.
