  1. Why not change the policies on the prima now instead of waiting for viva?? The main thing I want to see is a hostess for Indulge food court and giving everyone beepers like when the mdr is full. So you're dreaming of someone prettier, younger? :)
  2. Wow he sold that many shares and the price still climbed. The reason price climbed was 3x revenue year over year. But how much of that was profit? Ie: to pay off the huge debt
  3. Reduced another$30 with 9 days left! Now $70. But no go with 8 days left. Hit redeem for my 300 promo minutes like I did for 9 days left. No upsell to unlimited screen. It just redeemed, which is fine since I wasn't planning on upgrading because I'm carrying over minutes from the 1st leg. Now to see if you can go down to 9 days left on 12+ day cruises the next time I take one
  4. cruisenext is more flexible than cruise first. now there's casino next (or maybe it's called 'cas next'). trade in 5k points (worth $50) for $250 cas next certificate. can only be used on casino cruises and only good for 1 year. better value than cn for me. yeah, i hated those voicemail reminders that i havent bought any yet.
  5. viva is a clone of prima. i'm on 11day viva this nov on her 2nd cruise. (yeah 'free' casino cruises!) the 3rd prima class ship will have changes based on feedback on prima. they also delayed the 3rd ship by a year. it was reported here on cc that it'll be slightly bigger. hopefully that means more public space and not more cabins (thus reducing the space per person in public areas because more people)
  6. Major slot manufactures have a minimum payback of 85% on their machines unless it's one of those weird $1M super progressives like MegaBucks that you find in Vegas. the manufacturer of rich little piggies is a major manufacturer. still, 85% return sucks $ like vacuum. the best vp on ncl is 9/6 ddb, which is 99% return but variance is double that of your JoB. That 9/6 ddb was on the Prima when i sailed her last Oct. You ran into bad variance during cruise. 😞 i made 4 figures profit when i sailed her but one 1 small handpay. Earned 7k points. I had good variance. Sorry the Gambling Gods weren't nicer to you.
  7. I've been diamond for awhile and never noticed this till now. Same dining and free laundry coupons as Platinum but the benefits info is different. I'm assuming Ambassador has their own as well
  8. 10 days left on my 11 day cruise. Yup, can trade in the 300min for $200 credit, just like I did on the 1st leg (12 day). Going to use the 400 casino minutes and see if tomorrow (9 days left) the unlimited upgrade price gets reduced by$30.
  9. So I'm doing a b2b: 12 day and 11 day I traded in the 300 internet minutes for unlimited for $100 when there was 10days left of the cruise. Leg2: Theory- I should have 150 promo minutes because 11day, 400 casino minutes, and carrying 400 casino minutes from 1st leg. Reality- I see 150 promo minutes, 400 casino minutes, and the 300 promo minutes(!) from last cruise that I sacrificed for unlimited. I do not see the 400 casino minutes from last cruise. No idea why I still have 300promo minutes. Let's see if that 300 promo minutes can be traded in for $200 value. And let's see how much the upgrade to unlimited is on day 2 and day 3. (10 and 9 days left)
  10. Risked it and did 2nd laundry on my 12day. It's Debarkation day and still no laundry charge but I'm doing a b2b so could theoretically show up next week.
  11. Obvious reason: You dont have to move for the 2nd leg. Not so obvious: - Some ships (Star, Breakaway, and maybe others) won't carry over unused sdp dinners if in different room for 2nd leg. (I usually buy 6 sdp if doing a b2b) https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2943703-b2b-on-star-unused-additional-dining-package-doesnt-carry-to-2nd-leg-if-different-rooms/#comment-65536661 - Can't get room key for 2nd leg till at least 8am on debarkation day if in different room. That new room key works immediately so they dont want you accessing someone else's cabin. 8am is when everyone must be out of their cabin. This is inconvenient if you're planning on going out to port before 8am and returning in the afternoon
  12. I'm currently on the Star doing a b2b (23days total). Just got my b2b letter for the 2nd leg: Normally i buy a 6day sdp package for a b2b and carry it to the next leg. I've never had a problem carrying unused dinners to the next leg even when the room is different for the 2nd leg, till the Breakaway last year. I had to talk to the head maître-d to get it sorted out. Didn't buy extra sdp this time because it's not worth risking the hassle since the Star has the full Chinese restaurant, and not the mini one on the Breakaway (located back of casino). Well, from the b2b letter, add Star to the list of ships that you can't carry unused sdp if different room on 2nd leg. 😞
  13. Free transatlantic on Viva, going solo. $75 short of using 2nd cruisenext. Any drink at casino bar is free so turning down drink package. How to pad booking to use 2nd cruisenext?
  14. If there's a significant price drop for your booked cruise, i've read people are getting free upgrades OR future cruise credit to be used in a year. Has anyone gotten both the upgrade and fcc? ie: you just want to go from ov to balc and not club balc because bathtub so you still overpaid by a couple of hundred
  15. I'm not a champagne drinker. I cant taste the difference between prosecco and vuelve but both are acceptable to me. (I get both for free) But I had the rose this month and I didn't like it.
  16. I've been on many 14day solo cruises and have always gotten 2 free laundry. 1 free per 7 days of cruise makes logical sense. (Can be used any 2 days) Pre-covid, I was on a 18day cruise and got 3 free. I'm currently on a 12day cruise. I don't remember ever taking a 12 (or 13) day cruise because free casino cruises used to be 11 days and less. (It's now 12days for me starting this year) Wasn't sure that 1 bag per 6 days was the minimum or a special thing because that cruise was so long. So I asked cruisenext. He said it's 1bag no matter the length of the cruise because that's what the document says. Well, that's wrong since i experienced 2free bags from last month's 14day cruise. So what's the minimum number of days to receive a 2nd free bag of laundry?
  17. I took this tour: https://www.norwayexcursions.com/en/tour/alesund-from-fjords-to-trolls/ Much cheaper than the cruise line. Beautiful views! Pro tip: Add the lunch buffet. Only $11 more. If you buy it there, it's about $45 I didn't book this tour but found the tour bus and they had empty seats. Paid cash (in local currency). Asked about joining the buffet and the tour guide said she'll ask when they got to the buffet place. It was 450 Nok. Everything In Norway is EXPENSIVE!
  18. my Trade in value ($200) for the 300promo minutes on NCL Star: the Above $100 unlimited price was when there was 10days 6hrs left on the cruise. Math: $30/day x 10 = $300 - $200 trade-in = $100 No additional discount with less than 10days left. hopefully on breakaway long cruises, the '300promo minutes' trade in has been updated to $200?
  19. no, we didnt move for 20min because the tenders stopped. we waited for like an hr total.
  20. Interesting, under the old FAS program, you can activate your promo minutes and STILL take advantage of the upgrade a couple of days later? Under the current FAS program, i've never had a pop up to upgrade AFTER i;ve already activated my 150 promo minutes
  21. I got off the elevator and looking down the hallway, I saw a ship officer put this on the door. Unfortunately, i was going in the other direction and didn't think to turn around to ask him. (I came back later and took this pic.) Anyone know what it means?
  22. i did. i asked a 2 stripe officer about the tendering. he gave a canned response. i guess i'm writing to vent my frustrations and even more hoping that some officer from the ship reads this thread so more information is provided to the passengers in the future about WHY there are delays.
