  1. If like others, a function of which way they fold out. Literally a twin or double size. Perhaps I'm reading too much into your post, but you didn't say which ship you were on in the Celebrity suite. If you were on Ascent and pulled it out to look, you'll know what the double looks like as that's what they supply in all of the Celebrity suites there. Unless he's accustomed to a large bed and feels the need to wander in it at night, either should be fine ... depending upon what you mean by "young".
  2. Ah, and there's always afternoon tea in the retreat lounge, but I've come to understand here at CC that it's usually not quite as nice as it can be on the older ships.
  3. "High tea" is just the opposite of "high" as you might think of it ... "High" tea was often consumed on bar stools (hence "high") on the way home from work - an early supper if you will. I assume you just mean "afternoon tea"? Here's a thread:
  4. Have had zero invites of this or any similar sort since the post-COVID restart. We've been E+ and RS each time, and I've had my November birthday aboard each westbound TA, and we've had two WB TA anniversaries (also November). I guess we look boring compared to our younger selves! 😁 I do recall the Captain's Table pre-COVID as being a fun experience. I asked a favorite question that always seems to produce some interesting answers ... "Assume the ship is yours to sail where you like. Where are you going to take us, and why?"
  5. I'd have walked up, gotten the name off the tag of the crew member who was 'consulted' and who suggested this insulting behavior, and let the F&B manager know about this long before disembarking. A bar or restaurant (or cruise line) that is willing to break trust with a guest in this way isn't above doing so in other ways as well.
  6. When you said "this TA" and didn't provide any additional details, we thought you mean the only TA in the thread with a defined destination - the one that @Ex-Airbalancer mentioned, headed for Argentina.
  7. I'd avoid the ones under the Ocean View on Deck 12. You've got several other decks from which to choose.
  8. It's not like this is unique to cruise ships. Happens in bars and restaurants everywhere. Doesn't excuse it, but the well stock vs. call brand 'fraud' is a much wider problem than some people think. That said, most outfits are smarter than to try to pass off Prosecco as Champagne. The particular strain of yeast used for Champagne is alone a distinguishing flavor for those that pick it up in the taste.
  9. Huge difference. I'd take the M class SV [decks 7 or 8] over S class SV any day. This particular TA is to Argentina, though, and it looks like that's an S class ship.
  10. Equinox, 2025? I can't say I'd have any preference. All good choices if you like the SV cabins. Every other one on all 3 decks has a sofa bed, and not knowing how many in your party...
  11. I was primarily thinking of the many TAs that terminate in Cape Liberty or Florida. For the SA trips, the weather gets flipped around as you head south, along with the sun, but you'll be a good bit more than 1/2 way through your TA to Buenos Aires before you even hit the equator. I might be inclined to pick port side - more sun on the way south, more shade once we got further south and the temperatures were warming up. It's all a matter of how much sun you want on a veranda. Would be nice to be able to switch sides part way through a SA TA! Our WB TA preference, back in the day, was for the aft FV cabins on Millennium class where you had your choice of whatever sun or shade you wanted with the huge, partly covered verandas. I think you'll be surprised if you try out this tool and look at what you find in towns along the more northerly east coast of South America in mid-November in the mornings and afternoons https://shademap.app
  12. I guess the size has changed. At one time, it was the size of a Rolex.
  13. For what it's worth - I have only been able to get the links I provided above to work on my phone. I've tried turning on 3rd party cookies on 3 different browsers on my PC and can't get through their system to find any of their locations that way.
  14. You make it sound like this is a problem for all port side cabins. It's not. Which ship and which cabin was a problem for your cruise?
  15. Much depends upon which cabin you've picked, when the cruise begins, whether it's taking a northern or southern route (where does the cruise end?), and how much time you plan to spend on your veranda, if you have one. All of those questions because... At that time of year (though the TAs span a bit of time), the sun will be more southerly in the sky, so you'll be seeing sun on the port side and shade on the starboard side.
  16. Where did you keep it? Pull off the band and stuffed into pocket?
  17. Finally found your customs office at the Lisbon port! Hitting the 'List' button was easiest: https://www.globalblue.com/en/refund-points-map?country=Portugal&category=Validation point only But then it's a matter of finding the nearest Global Blue office or kiosk to present the validated Tax Free form received from the customs office. https://www.globalblue.com/en/refund-points-map?country=Portugal&category=Refunding point only Most are at airports. Nothing at the cruise terminal. I see El Corte Ingles still has their Kiosk, though. But that means getting there from the cruise port same day. We have a full day excursion in Lisbon. I think there's also a way to mail it all to Global Blue, but I think it must arrive within some number of days from the date the customs office stamps the thus. Did you see anything about that? We've never tried mailing the docs before. I think we will first try the Catalunya tourism office in Barcelona, even though it's our embarkation port and not final port since we will be there for several days and will have time to deal with this.
  18. Michael's is still 'old style' (pre-Revolution), so still has comfortable seating.
  19. Will you have a small piece of rolling luggage with you that you could roll down from the ship to the cruise terminal in Lisbon in the event that they want so see the goods? That might be easier than schlepping things around in Barcelona.
  20. But I'm not expected to 'wear' my Seapass card.
  21. So they are using What's App, not some feature of the regular Celebrity app?
  22. Don't hit "Manage reservation". Hit "Plan my cruise". Then look across the tabs at the very top of the page.
  23. This was one of my favorites from a recent session with my cruise planner:
