  1. I've run the numbers on two of the upcoming TAs for other reasons, and Reflection was running (from memory) at about 78% max, and Constellation at 87% max. Not low at all compared to, say, the Millie Panama transit.
  2. You have to keep in mind that they were selected by someone who admits she'd never spent a single day on a cruise ship.
  3. @mfs2k I gotta ask re your Carnival experience... Stairs or elevator? Trying to picture the latter and laughing!
  4. ... and not having to buck up for the airfare until final payment for the cruise is due. They also sometimes have decent consolidator fares to Europe.
  5. It is WAY too soon to trust anything in the app, even assuming you've correctly selected your cruise for next year.
  6. We still have folks wearing cloth masks outdoors, walking their dogs, alone, and while riding bikes on bike paths by themselves. Neurosis?
  7. Then why are there so many people still wearing them? They represent the vast majority of masks I see worn in public. I think a LOT of folks never got the message.
  8. Granted, but for the app to be truly useful for reminders, it needs to he possible to add them manually if need be, especially to avoid conflicts.
  9. Except for spa appointments and some other events that don't since there seems to be no way to add them.
  10. Unless it isn't 😏 I distinctly recall scratching my head over the app's 'perfect day in Dubai' recommendations and explanations about Singapore disembarkation on my last Caribbean cruise...
  11. I seem to recall the protocol being unpleasant before proctored testing ceased. A positive test meant quarantine, and waiting for that negative test. What's different apart from perhaps lack of a cabin change? Some may be more willing to report than they were before if the anecdotal info about being able to remain in the original cabin on some ships is common. Unclear what difference you're referencing that might cause people not to report.
  12. WAY back when, I'm sure that Celebrity used to put together a booklet with 8x10 color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and paragraphs ... oops, wrong venue ... and lines that showed all of their routes for the season, much as the airlines did in the back of their in-flight magazines. Has anyone seen anything remotely like that in recent history, even in electronic form?
  13. Ignoring relativistic mass (which has issues), I think you're safe in assuming that all of those photons coming off your screen have zero mass. However, if reading these posts isn't making you hungry ... As an aside to those who haven't been there yet - Unlike the gelato stand, pastries at Al Bacio are gratis.
  14. Had our best ever X cruises on the Nov 2021 Constellation restart cruises. Our own local high end butcher couldn't have done any better with cuts of meat. Service was outstanding, especially with all new teams just starting out together. Dining crew had been doing "soft openings" and critiques in each others' restaurant venues prior, and I'm sure that helped. We were of course fortunate that crew:pax ratio was higher than normal at that time.
  15. You're asking whether I'd trust any part of Celebrity's IT as the sole source for important information while on my cruise??, ☺️😁🤪😄 🙀
  16. Me, either, but it'd also be really hard, for me at least, to come up with good expiration dates for RCCL calls, and premiums are crazy. Have no sense of the potential momentum at the moment, just the direction. https://www.marketbeat.com/stocks/NYSE/RCL/options/
  17. Have noted this elsewhere, but will advise again: If you decide to try LPC, as you enter the room, be sure you are seated where the circles of light over your plates are absolutely stable. Some mirrors seem to have a balance/vibration issue that causes a minor but potentially distracting jitter in the projected image.
  18. Have been seeing the same thing even farther out into 2023. There's another thread here where some are expressing concern about RCG's financial future as regards future income, but I'm seeing strong 2023 bookings even at the new and significantly higher prices. RCG continues to confirm this in their conference call and financial statements.
  19. There have been cases where cruises have been improperly linked. I had this happen, and it took most of a month to get it corrected. I had two cabins linked, and then about two months later, an unknown name appeared in online, visibile in "Manage..." as linked to one of them. Customer Service couldn't see it on the X end, but I sent them screenshots to demonstrate what I was seeing. IT finally found and fixed it. Thus linked, would have been no surprise if there had also been cross-notification if I hadn't insisted on having it corrected. Something similar mat have triggered your call. Have heard here of a few additional examples of this. I still have no idea who Anna was.
  20. Rules for all but "special" excursions (e.g., those that include flights and a few others) is that you can cancel more than 24 hrs before the scheduled start of the excursion for full refund, regardless of how you paid. Your NR OBC will be returned to your onboard account.
  21. I can relate. One HOT summer while I was working in Japan, the engineering boss had an iced coffee maker brought in. It was a goid, strong, French roast. Had never heard of iced coffee, but got hooked on it there for summertime drinking. Gave the hot green tea that they rolled through the office a pass after that! Am now a fan of a good iced Americano in the summer.
  22. We were on Constellation at the restart, another non-Revolution ship, in the Caribbean for 15 nts and had no issues with the WiFi at all apart from some antics it was pulling with regard to text messages for a couple of days. Didn't run my usual SpeakEasy test (should have done) but would not have been unhappy with whatever it would have reported. Had about 1500 of the 2000 or so capacity onboard for the first 5 nts. Had the 'stream' service. Then again, I was mostly pulling data down, and wasn't sending much back, and so can't say how asymmetric the connection might have been.
  23. Not saying cash flow is impacted by builds. It's that the stock is taking hits from both ends with current cash flow and future debt service. The timing sucks. Yes, lousy time for increasing costs, but increasing prices don't seemed to have dampened bookings as one might expect. RCG says bookings in 2023 are strong, even at inflated prices, and my own unsuccessful though anecdotal attempts to bag one of my cabins of choice for late 2023 cruises seems to bear that out. Honestly, I'm surprised. It can't all be residual FCC burn that late in the season. For whatever reason, enough of the X clientele seems to be in "damn the torpedoes" mode to keep bookings up, even with deflated personal portfolios. COVID whiplash effect after being pinned down for many months? I dunno. If Fain meant what he said about break even load %s, it may be a good 2023. Not clear what you mean about Eastern Europe being off limits as a "source market". Not seeing that effect aboard. Can you elaborate?
  24. Some aren't looking for earlier flights out of FLL due to cost or to hurry home. Rather, it may be due to connections that mean either an early flight or being stuck in the FLL airport until mid-afternoon. Shame they still haven't reinstated the Extend Your Stay program.
