I just got off Mardi Gras (yesterday 😞 ) and last Thanksgiving we sailed RCL Jewel of the Sea (I have sailed Carnival ~ 15 times and RCL 3). My next cruise will be RCL. Food: RCL huge winner for taste and quality. The Buffet on carnival was really bad and I’m not a picky eater. I did miss Guy’s burgers last year while on Carnival , but I only went there 1 time last week. Still very good. The MDR on carnival was OK, but the speciality options were GREAT. Last year on RCL we were planning on hitting a few specialty options but the buffet and MDR were really good. GREAT salad bar, carnival’s salad option in the Buffett are poor. Comedy Shows: we saw 6 comedians last week on the Mardi Gras and 4 were brutal. 1 was really good. show waits on the Mardi Gras were not bad, very comparable to the Jewel of the Sea last year. Cruise Director: Carnival seems to have the better, more involved CDs, it seems to be a different role on RCL, but CDs don’t make or break a cruise. Last week ours “quit” 5 days in and the next man up finished the trip. Stops: RCL has wayyyyyyyy better ports of calls and better the off boat hours. shows: Mardi Gras had a few really good shows last week, but I recall RCL’s shows last year, even on an older ship we still entertaining. I’m assuming on the newer RCL ships the shows must be magnificent. filling out your day: Carnival a had stuff going on all day, even over lapping. Last week flew by, I’m still in awe it went by so fast!! casinos: prob the same on each boat, but carnival really slimmed down their table games and the odds have got really poor. back to food: the PIZZA on RCL is way better, but doesn’t stay open as late. There are not as many other smaller options but you will not miss them because the buffet and MDR do a really great job with themed days which you can plan for and experience as many different tastes.

I was on the the ship, I’m just getting home and trying to figure out why he was booted with 2 days left…but I believe (from memory) that this was mid morning on day 2, the first sea day. So we were waaaayyyyyyyy off shore when this was said. And the first 2 days were CRAZY windy on board, it sucked!!!

He’s a black gay man, 90% of his jokes were related to race, gender or homophobic. This is carnival’s blueprint for most of the passenger facing roles…this jump off and swim home joke, may have been the only joke he made the entire 5 days that wasn’t about gender, sexuality or race.

I was on the cruise, not sure if anyone mentioned what the joke was, but I was on the lido and recall him saying something like, ‘we are going to have fun, you’ve been waiting many months for the cruise and if you are not ready to have fun you can dive off the back and swim home’…it got a good laugh, if that offended anyone, well, they are miserable people. As far as his persona the 5 days he was onboard, it was nothing special, the same overplayed persona and jokes/references that have been made a million times the last 10-15 years. He did have good energy and was way more present around the ship than any other CD we’ve had other than Kendall Fire (the best!!) If that joke was the reason he separated, I’d have to say there were many other things that have been addressed, however why would carnival place a questionable CD on their flagship? Who knows?!?

Some of you guys/gals here are just miserable Karens. Thanks to the others who tried to assist. But to the Karens, know you can sleep well tonight because I did pay for the chat feature (day 1) and the casino has tore me a new one so far!

Lots and lots of people are having this issue. Over night the “send / receive” iPhone phone number gets unchecked under iMessages and iMessages don’t work until you can get wifi or data to re-check the phone number. Is there a fix for this while at sea without wifi.? I’ve reset phone, etc and nothing works for anyone. I bought $5 chat but maybe I can help someone else.

Heading on the MG tomorrow!!!! Can we carry on 4 12packs of soft drinks and 3 bottles of wine? we've cruised a ton but never bothered with bringing on soft drinks or wine before. - 2 adults - 1 adult child - 1 child

4 dayssssss.....4 daysssssss, I booked the cruise about 95 days ago...I don't know how you guys wait 9-10-12+ months for a cruise...I'd go nuts!!

we were very interested in the SUSHI class, my daughter would have LOVED it...we booked in June on the Mardi Gras for N0v 18-25 of the year. I checked a couple days after I booked and the Sushi class was already sold out...that's silly. I've checked a few times a week since and it remains "sold out".

I have stayed here before a couple years ago and it worked well, but before posting my question I tried to book this place and they stopped extended parking in April of this year 😞

thanks I tried this before posting the question. ! place is sold out, second place offers parking but it's 3 blocks from the hotel and the 3rd option no longer offers extended parking.

What are the better hotels near PC that offer Extended parking and shuttle to the Port?

I'm useless with this site's search function, so I'll ask something that's been asked many times, Im sure. Where can I find the hotels near Port Canaveral that offer extended parking (7 days) and a shuttle service? Any good ones and ones to avoid? The Radisson no longer offers extended parking, bummer!!

also what is your height and age range? we seem to have the same weight fights. You are correct, for me its 100% about diet vs activity. I dropped from 355 to 335 in two months changing diet (a little) and walk/running daily...but for the last 5 months I've bounce from 330 - 337 weekly. I'll need to significantly change my diet to break the 330 level (i'm 6'1" in mid 40s). I have 45 days until my cruise, was hoping to be under 220, but this 5 month stall in weight loss has been a killer. I've been lifting weights too during this time, so some of the weight may be fat to muscle...

what's the deal with the whale tail? Is it getting a new yellow and blue funnel or a new whale tail?

yup its been a couple years since i played on Carnival, but when I last played you couldn't x3, x4, etc. RCL last year was the same...its horse poo and not worth playing.
