  1. When she has to dock in Manhattan her stern sticks into the shipping channel. In 2004,2005, a coast guard ship was stationed behind her to ward off marine traffic coming too close.
  2. You were actually given a box lunch to take off of the ship?? Thought that was disallowed by the ports many years ago.
  3. As long as there is air conditioning who needs to wear shorts?
  4. We stay on the ship as long as possible, never saw a reason to rush. The luggage delivery works well and never had a bag misplaced. Can’t imagine that long disembarkation walk with luggage. We get a Porter at the pier and breeze through customs to either our ordered ride or a taxi. We don’t see a need to stand in lines. Hope your last day is not terrible.
  5. I sincerely hope Osman is onboard for our December sailing. He really made our sailing special with his extra dishes. We loved the Peking duck but you had to ask for it 48 hrs in advance. He made something special for us almost every evening, we had a table of 6 or 8 as we were on a B2B2B.
  6. We especially like the Walkers biscuits left by the tea/coffee station in our suite. Prefer those to Cunard’s cookie. All beverages under $12 are still included with the Grill package when booked in the U.S. We recently booked the 12/3 18 day voyage and was surprised to see we were given a $800 OBC. Unfortunately we have the last QG cabin and it is an accessible suite. We are waitlisted for any other QG cabin. Cunard doesn’t seem to have problems filling the Grill and Britannia Club staterooms.
  7. The pastries and sandwiches in Sir Samuel’s are included in your voyage price on the QM2. The specialty coffees, teas and hot chocolate are chargeable same as on Celebrity in their coffee house. I understand that the QA has made Sir Samuel’s a specialty dining option.
  8. Sounds like a true expedition cruise at the end. There are only 2600 people living in the area so you certainly overloaded the small airport. It was only enlarged for jets for the World Seed Bank.
  9. The dog may be for epilepsy or diabetic services. If it’s vest states service then it is not a support animal.
  10. You will need layers when you walk the promenade. Sometimes they will block the doors if the wind is over 50 or 60 miles along the deck. Even in the worst weather folks find a way outside and I watch them walking. We always get the spa pass and use the loungers to watch the deck and the sea. In December we watched the folks walking with hail all over the deck, it must have been slippery. The spa lounge is on the starboard side near the gym.
  11. If you are in the Grills, 99% wear a tuxedo on Gala nights on a crossing. It might be different on a cruise. On the QM2, tuxes are the norm on crossing although some men wear kilts and have see a few in their military dress uniforms.
  12. Just did it thru the Stockperks application, no problem getting our OBC.
  13. We have always been satisfied with the Marriott in Brooklyn. It is walking distance to DUMBO with many restaurants and beautiful views of Manhattan. It is also substantially less expensive than Manhattan. Short cab ride to Red Hook.
  14. Don’t see anything wrong with this note, many new passengers are unaware of the welfare fund. Letting everyone know of the fund will discourage individual tipping, the Seabourn way.
  15. We also enjoyed the Literature Festival crossing in 2022. The talks panel discussions that were held were great and it seemed they held two at the same time when they used the planetarium. Several of my favorite authors were on board and I discovered quite a few new authors. For folks who are not readers there are still other events, trivia, needlework, art, bridge, gambling and drinking to keep you occupied.
  16. I agree with the poster about a list of foods he can consume. He has many more restrictions than the average passenger they would prepare for and Regent would need to load special provisions for this passenger.
  17. Does Virgin also have a program such as Blue Chip that offers free cruises to gamblers?
  18. Hopefully the Celebrity one has less sugar and calories!
  19. The Relaxation Room is a prime part of the Spa on the QM2. Wonderful loungers and views!
  20. We just returned from a crossing on the Regent and were pleased with the beef. We were on the Splendor.
  21. Your suite on Cunard (Q5-Q7) is only 5 sq ft smaller than a Celebrity Suite but the balcony is to 50 sq ft larger.
  22. I am confused. The QM2 had tea every afternoon in the Queens Room on all our trips including Canada. Did you not go to that venue?
