  1. In my experience the best times to find machines available is during the times people are at dinner (5:00 pm -8:00 pm) and on port days.YMMV
  2. We have had a couple of cruises in the last two years where laundry was no charge because the token dispensers were out of order. Typically the laundry is not free. It’s $3 to wash and $3 to dry. Plan on that and if you happen to get free laundry it will be a happy surprise!
  3. I agree, the less you know in advance the better! It’s a wonderful experience.
  4. Typically when scanning the passport in the app the problem is the middle name (it’s a glitch in the app). Scan your passport and then delete the middle name in the app so only your first and last are in the app and then it typically will accept the scan and information. Deleting the middle name to get the passport scan accepted by app won’t negatively impact you. Your booking has your correct First/Middle/Last ( which is what feeds your EZAir bookings so ultimately your air and name on passport will match) and the passport number and other relevant info associated with you will be uploaded into the Medallion App.
  5. Just tried and I am unable to log on.
  6. We did it a few months ago. It included - Quiche, bacon, hash browns, roasted tomato, pastries, fresh fruit, bagels with cream cheese and salmon etc, orange juice, coffee and a half sized bottle of sparkling wine.
  7. If you used a TA they can request a copy of your folio for you and also inquire about the refund on your behalf. If you booked directly you can contact Princess and ask for a copy of your recent folio, (you should be able to use the chat feature for this) - once you have the copy of the folio in hand you can email customerrelations@princesscruises.com or call Princess for help sorting through the issue. you may want to wait a few days to see if a second check shows up. It’s possible that the amount of refund was split between you and your travel companion ( depending on where credit was from).
  8. You can visit guest services anytime during your cruise. One tip is to print out copies of the gift cards to give to Guest Services. They like to have that for their records. Having the printouts will save you the trouble of emailing them screenshots and waiting for the email to come through to them.
  9. The cabanas are popular and do sell out. Your best bet is to keep checking prior to your cruise to see if anyone cancels and if not, add your name to the waitlist as soon as you board the ship.
  10. We recently cancelled ann excursion onboard and the crew member said that people on the waitlist will be happy- so I know sometimes people cancel and those on the waitlist do get tickets. I am currently on Crown and we are waitlisted for an excursion. The crew member who put us on the list said we will know if we clear the waitlist if the tickets arrive in our cabin- that’s our notification!
  11. Good to hear. We haven’t had anyone decline in the past so my guess is he didn’t want the items and perhaps it was easier to say it wasn’t allowed.
  12. Last month on Discovery I offered my unused mini bar items and a bottle of wine purchased on board to my cabin steward the final day and he said he wasn’t allowed to take them; that any unused items would be picked up by room service team and returned to stock. I don’t know if this is something new or if this was a one off instance. ☹️ it could be that he didn’t drink alcohol and was just too polite to refuse the gift and instead said it was against the rules? I don’t know, it was the first time a steward has said they couldn’t have the items.
  13. They have the chocolate cake on the room service menu on Crown. I haven’t tried it yet but am hopeful that it’s still one of the best slices of cake on the ship!
  14. Today in International Cafe they have three cakes offered at $4.50 per slice or free with Plus/ Premier Package. Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Cake and Black Forest Cake.
  15. It was listed as available in Ocean Concierge on the first day but I didn’t try to purchase it so I don’t know if the purchase would have gone smoothly or not. It’s worth checking Ocean Concierge once you board (the first day). Can’t hurt to try if it’s something that interests you! it could be that the IT department hasn’t scrubbed the out dated items out of Ocean Concierge… so I am not sure if the purchase would go through or not.
  16. All the other packages that were listed first day are not available second day but coffee package is still available to purchase. The dollar amount is listed in the description.
  17. A slight topic detour but for what it’s worth… I boarded Crown yesterday and in Ocean Concierge ( NOT medallion App) the Coffee Package is still listed as available. I didn’t purchase or try to swap mini bar for it because I had already purchased in advance of the cruise. To see what’s available on your next cruise go to Ocean Concierge the first day or two of your voyage, click on “my beverage packages”, and it will bring up a list of the packages available for purchase onboard . YMMV but if they are still offering the packages in Ocean Concierge then hopefully they will allow the exchange.
  18. On Crown ( in mini suites) they are mounted on stands above the bar area. On some of the older ships they have been moved and mounted onto the wall at the foot of the bed and on the wall directly in front of the couch like they are on newer ships.
  19. Yes current photo. Sadly not wall mounted yet on Crown.
  20. Those are the options listed in Ocean Concierge for purchase. I haven’t seen crew members selling any packages on board this trip. So hopefully when you board all these options will still be available in Ocean Concierge ( not in the medallion app). If you aren’t familiar, you will find Ocean Concierge on the same screen you use to redeem/ purchase internet packages. Open it up and click on My Beverage Packages and it will take you to the packages available for purchase onboard.
  21. I stuff a rolled up pool towel in front of the night stands to block the sensors, that does the trick!
  22. Just boarded Crown and the guests before us used bandaids to cover the sensor and forgot to remove them -that’s working great ( thanks previous travelers).
