I'd start by checking the Crowne Plaza San Pedro, DoubleTree San Pedro, Best Western Plus San Pedro Hotel and then Best Western Plus Hotel At The Convention Center (Long Beach) to start.

Thank you. Those are already on my list of possibilities.

It is not an area in Long Beach I would stay; certainly not for "a few days".

What is your nightly budget for a hotel? Where are you coming in from? What do you plan to see in your "few day?"

Our budget is up to $200. We are planning to stay precruise for two days. We are cruising out of San Pedro.

Agreed...and worse.  There are some bad areas in Long Bach...and there are some even worse areas just to the north of Long Beach...I would advise running this Airbnb location by us locals here on the message board.

"...looks to be just about a 15 minute drive from the cruise port..." could be, for example,  Palos Verdes (excellent)...or it could be Compton (the polar opposite of excellent)...

Any information you can share about The Cove Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection in Long Beach. We are looking at this one to add to our possibilities for an upcoming cruise.

If you mean the Best Western Worldport Hotel, aprx. 15-18 miles, depending on route.

We are looking into stay at the The Cove Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection a few days before our cruise. Any information you can provide would be helpful. Thanks much.

  5. We have a excellent CC and have used him for years.  A friend of ours also had an excellent CC who suddenly stopped returning his calls and emails. He learned that person had past away. I connected him with our CC and he is very please with his level of service. They first thing the CC did was looked over his upcoming cruises and informed him of a price drops and made the adjustments which were substantial. Needless to say our friend couldn’t be happier.

  6. We were on a b2b2b, Dec 5th-26th. On the first and second l legs mask were mandatory for the crew and the took it seriously. I did not see one crew member the those two week without a mask. Mask for passengers were optional. On the last leg things were totally different. Mask still mandatory for the crew and once again I did not see on crew member with put a mask. On this leg passengers were now required to were a mask. For the most part people complied. There was however a smart ass on the elevator one evening who took off his mask started coughing and announced he has Covid. And of course the other **** with him thought it was funny. Always one in the group.

  7. We recently completed a b2b2b embarkation in NY with final disembarkation San Juan where we completed a 3 day post cruise stay. We just made it home before all of the changes. No testing required for our post stay or flight home. We are however being monitored daily by Sara Alert. I understand this will last for 14 days. You are automatically enrolled when you disembark the ship.

We will be in San Juan and don't yet have an excursion booked.  We were wondering what the options are to catch a cab from the port to the fort?  Any other suggestions of things to do in the port without a planned excursion?

Taxi, Uber, walking. Rain forest. Explore Old San Juan. We were recently there b2b2b and a post cruise stay. Visit a beach. We explored the neighborhood we stayed in.

Currently on the Dawn, 11-day out of Tampa. We were informed this evening that we will not call on St. Thomas, Antiqua, St. Lucia, or San Juan, PR. According to one senior crewmember, these ports have "closed" to cruise ships, but I've seen no verification one way or the other.

Now scheduled to call on St. Maarten, Barbados, and Tortola, plus originally-scheduled Puerto Plata and St. Kitts.  Losing one port day, adding one sea day.

No other information has been made available, as far as I've heard.

On our recent b2b2b Barbados did not allow cloth mask. NCL passengers could not walk off into town on their own in St. Lucia (reason why was never made clear). We had to take a taxi. However, you could walk back on your own. This did not apply to passengers aboard the ship port next to us.

  10. I feel like my husband and I dodged a bullet. We recently completed a b2b2b starting in NY. Each cruise disembarked in San Juan. We did a post cruise stay of three days in San Juan. No testing was required for our to disembark, post stay or flight home. The day after we disembarked the ship we started receiving emails from Sara Alert monitor our health. I understand we will be monitored 14 days post cruise.

The NCL website states that while showing the actual vax card is preferable, a photo of your vax record is also acceptable.  Has anyone used just a photo?  I’ll probably bring mine but I’m so paranoid about losing my actual card.

We completed a b2b2b (12/5-12/29) and NCL never asked us to produce our cards. During our post cruise in San Juan we were asked to show them twice.

    Thank you!

We DID NOT take a flight to San Juan. We arrived by cruise ship. Because we arrived by cruise ship we did not have to come the declaration. Our contact information was provide to the Health Department by NCL and all entering via cruise ship are automatically enrolled.

  13. At least you got on the bus. My husband and I were told by the representative in the airport because NCL did not have our travel plan (we arrived the day before boarding and yes we supplied that information via our CC when we booked) we classified as “TP” and they had no idea if or when we would board the bus. We called NCL as well as the numbers listed on our paperwork. No luck. We had to take Uber to the port, which by the way Uber was less than NCL. Now we are trying to get a refund from NCL. We should have just taken Uber from the airport hotel to the pier. Live and learn.

  14. Apparently everyone disembarking in San Juan is automatically enrolled in Sara Alert…Secure monitoring and reporting for public health. From my understanding all cruise lines are required to supply their passengers contact information. We boarded the ship on 12/5 in New York and disembarked on 12/26 in San Juan of course. We started receiving emails from Sara Alert the second day of our San Juan stay (we stay in San Juan three days post cruise). We had no advance warning from NCL about being monitored. We are still receiving daily emails asking that we complete the daily report. Not sure how long we will be monitored. I have attached the daily email and the daily report we are ask to complete. Both my husband and my report reminder comes to one email address since we only provide NCL with one email address.
