  1. They didn’t need to see the printed copy because it’s electronically linked to your passport so they can tell that you already had one when they swiped your passport. I don’t disagree on the money grab aspect though. It’s free $$ for them.
  2. Yes they run the charge directly with the cruise line. The cruise lines send the travel agent a commission check directly.
  3. SAVEOVERLAY is just part of the current promotions they are running. It adds extra $ off discount.
  4. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it on a Celebrity ship.
  5. No, those will not be charged by Celebrity. They literally use Expedia in the background for this. Don’t attempt. 🙂
  6. Yep it’s too late unfortunately. Do you have any future cruises on Celebrity booked? If so, just make a $1,000 payment on one.
  7. Lounges won’t let you in unless you have a boarding pass for a departing flight on that day from FLL.
  8. Be careful and make sure you bet the 10% or your card will be locked from doing any more Casino charges. It happened to me on the Apex in January. Luckily I had some refundable OBC so I just went to the guest services desk on the last day and they gave me cash for the remaining amount.
  9. How long is your stay there? Is it overnight? The cruise port is close to the tram where you can take to Hagia Sofia on your own. Note the lines can be very long to get inside.
  10. Wow this is absolutely way improved since the cutbacks in January. We sailed on the Apex Jan 14th and the dinner buffet was a truly sad sight.
  11. Uber/Lyft is your best bet there. Or even just a taxi.
  12. Hmm this is a bit suspicious. All the sailings are marked as closed from September 15th to November 5th sailing. I find it really hard to believe these are all 100% sold out.
  13. Which robe? They have the nice retreat ones, the cheapy thin waffle weave ones, and on my last cruise on Apex I had a mid-grade one that was quite soft (but not thick and plush like the retreat ones).
  14. Sure, just coordinate with your butler in advance. No charge.
  15. I had premium internet on Apex a few weeks ago and it was blazing fast (like 200MBPS download) the entire trip.
  16. We were on Apex the same week (1/14-1/21) and I echo the OP’s review. Everything was fantastic despite the menu cutbacks and other cutbacks. Great crew and service as always.
  17. Yep this will work if you can do it all in one shot.
  18. Just cash out the OBC in the casino through a slot machine. Just make sure to bet at least like 10% of it on the machine before you cash out, otherwise you run the risk of them locking your seapass from any further casino room charges.
  19. Currently on Apex and all the classic options are still available every night. I’ve had plenty of escargot, shrimp cocktail and French onion soup this week. 😋
  20. Back with my big gulp last night!
  21. On Apex now, and the pizza has been great!! Thanks for the hard work Apex staff!
  22. I’m on the Apex now with premium package and it’s been Cattier. It’s not bad/not great.
  23. I got the rare normal old style proper large size martini glass last night. I felt like I had hit the jackpot and I definitely paraded that around the grand plaza. I did hear a few comments “look, he has a big one!” 🤭
  24. Currently on the Apex and friends have the classic package and are getting martinis no problem at the martini bar. Note however, the martini bar has switched to the small martini glasses so that is likely why they are allowing it now.
  25. On Apex right now and these menus have been lackluster to say the least. Appetizers have been pretty good for the most part. Entree options seem very limited and very basic. No lamb spotted yet. No crème brûlée so far either.
