  1. Thanks so much. Yeah, we would up and ready to disembark as early as we can (5:45am-6am sounds about right). We'd probably have 1 full size bag and then carry ons but not at packing stage yet. Good tip about the strap. Thanks. We would either taxi or uber (and assume this is an option from Port Canaveral?). No plans to rent a car.
  2. Thank you both. This is good to hear. One other question...is it an issue for us to self-debark if we keep our own luggage? i.e. we'd have 1 regular size luggage and then say carry ons.
  3. We have Wonder booked in March our of Port Canaveral. We booked our flight with a 2:30pm return time, but WestJet just notified us of a flight time change where it is now leaving at 11:15am. Is this flight do-able if we self assist? Or is it too close? I know that Port Canaveral is a bit of a drive away from the airport.
  4. Thanks for sharing. We did end up checking. His points are now showing as 78 and as Emerald (i.e. our points/status prior to our recent Diamond bump). That would be great if this remains and then he would bump up to Diamond after our next cruise in December. Guessing his points through will revert but let's see...Fingers crossed that he's like the family you know.
  5. No. In fact it's smart. We are booked up to March 2025 and we booked that one last year when the date was released. I would say book refundable as a lot can change, but the sooner you book, the better price you will get.. One of our other cruises we also booked when it was released and got it for around $4800. That same booking is now over $9000. Prices only go up, and can be by a lot. But if you do book, watch your price and if it does go down, call and have your price adjusted. You can do this as long as it's before final payment if you are in the US and Canada (not sure about other countries). P.S. - Can't comment about HAL but Royal has fantastic cruises.
  6. Thanks! I just tried this on DD (my 14 year old) and it worked. She now shows as Diamond with the same points as DH and me. Now...to try or not to try on DS (our 18 year old who would be de-moted)
  7. Their C&A status shows as do points, but the status hasn't been updated, and points incorrect. You still mean for this scenario? I know there was some odd bug recently where you couldn't see C&A info at all.
  8. Will do. But will wait a week or so, since DH and my points and status literally just switched over today. Maybe there is just a delay (since they weren't on this last cruise with us)? Our older one turned 18 in April though so interesting his points didn't revert back then to HIS actual points back then. As for point matching, I have gone on one more cruise than DH, but his points show the same as mine. So if you are linked, you should show the same. Funny enough, I never thought about signing in and checking our kids before though so not sure when they got behind by 7 points (even ignoring our latest cruise that put us to Diamond)
  9. They did have our points as they show as 71 (and actual points would be in their 40s)
  10. Thank you. Seems like my understanding is correct. I'm still confused why our kids points don't even match our pre-Diamond points (never really checked before so not sure if it was always like this but seems like last cruise is missing)
  11. DH and I were at 78 points and we just completed a short cruise to get us to Diamond (yah). Our kids are 14 and 18 years old. Our points and updated status are reflected when we sign in, but when we check our kids accounts, they both show as Emerald and 71 points. Huh? Questions: My understanding is our 14 year old should also be Diamond now, right? Also, shouldn't her points be the same as ours? If so, do I need to call and have her points adjusted manually or it just takes longer for kids? I'm confused why our kids points don't reflect our points before this cruise (i.e. they show as 71 and not 78). Anyone have that issue before? I'm assuming if I call (or if it's automatic), that our 18 year old's points will revert to his actual points (40-something for actual cruises he has been on) and Emerald, right?
  12. Anyone done this tour (Royal Caribbean)? We haven't been to Dominican Republic before so we wanted to do an excursion give by the ship. This one seems ok but hoping for feedback.
  13. Yes, I understood. Thank you. Appreciate the replies.
  14. That's great. Thank you. PS - Will keep in mind the chocolate and coconut. That sounds delicious!
  15. Thanks for the quick response. Our kids will be very happy it includes Frappuccinos 🙂 As for internet, I don't even like getting internet...but guess it will be a good way to check in on our kid(s) when we cruise and not with us.
  16. I am looking at the benefits for Diamond and have a few questions: For the free drinks, does it include Frappuccino from Cafe Promenade? (The coffee card doesn't so that is why I am asking) For the free drinks, does it include a spiked coffee (e.g. with baileys)? What is "Up Close & Personal with Our Entertainment Family Event"? For the free photo, is it a photo per Diamond member? Or per stateroom? e.g. if 3 of us are Diamond For free internet, is that per Diamon member? Or per stateroom? (We never get internet so wouldn't have the package) Thanks.
  17. What is strange is 3 of our 4 cruises are going to Bahamas, but yet we only got an email for 2 of them. Does that mean that for the other one, we are already overpaying the taxes?
  18. Maybe it varies by ship but we just used one on Navigator. It was 1 punch for a tall, but 2 if you wanted bigger. It was also 2 punches if you wanted an extra expresso shot (e.g. DH got a tall cappuccino with an extra expresso shot and it was 2 punches), but no extra punch for a flavor shot. An iced coffee was 2 punches as it doesn't come in a small/tall. We enjoy the coffee card and get good use out of it. Not sure the price onboard, but I know the coffee card price in the app only changed slightly but that was due to CAD/USD exchange rate and not because of a sale.
  19. Going on a short cruise so packing very light. I noticed our ship has Laser Tag. I know you need closed shoes, but would they allow ones that are slip on? i.e. they are open at the heel but closed at the toe.
  20. For the Escape room, you sign up beforehand on the cruise planner. It costs a bit but is fun (and hard). As mentioned above, it's offered daily as it has it's own room. For Laser Tag, it's on the app. You should book it. I am not sure when it's available for booking but I would try when you board. I noticed Laser Tag sessions the morning of when scrolling through the activities on the app, and all spots were already booked up. So I am guessing you could book as soon as you board. There was a stand by line but our kids didn't want to wait as not sure how long it would have been. Note that it was only open on one or two days as it shares the spot with the ice rink.
  21. Agree. I "studied" beforehand by reading the description with the songs and also listened to (and watched you tube videos). I quite enjoyed Cats, but I know many do not. Performers were amazing.
  22. We were on Oasis for this past March break and loved it! We went to MDR each night and enjoyed. Tons of food options. I would say the only time it felt crowded was the karaoke / trivia place on Promenade (I forget the venue name offhand). And advice for the Windjammer at breakfast...try and go early or off hours. Otherwise, crowds not an issue. And tons to do. Not sure how someone can be bored between things like zipline and slides, and then the cruise compass activates. Best Aqua show we've seen so far. They did switch over to room cleaning once a day when we went but it wasn't a huge deal. (I personally preferred when they cleaned when we went to dinner since they would then remove our dirty towels from showering). And my worry too..but we did get towel animals. Probably around 4-5 during the week long cruise. Not sure who the cruise director is now, but the one we had was visible...mostly at shows but also things like Belly Flop contest. He was fun. People tend to complain a lot on here, but Oasis is amazing. You have nothing to worry about. Have an amazing cruise.
  23. Oh wow..that's a great price. For my next cruise, it dropped from $135 CAD (ouch) to $95 CAD. What a deal. 😏 Sounds like cruise location makes a difference though as this is from US.
  24. Thanks for the replies. We ended up booking near the airport. Just picked something cheapish (a La Quinta) that had restaurants near by and breakfast included. Will take a look at Hyatt as that sounds very convenient but if it's just for a few hours overnight we don't want to spend too much.
