  1. This is how I see Covid on board Princess for me.  I know that a cruise ship inside is more of a closed environment than outside.  The crew and staff are wearing masks to help keep them safe from Covid.  Which makes me think, why would I not want to be as safe as the crew and staff?  I would want to be as safe as I can be.  For me, If all PAX are not wearing masks I would not go.  I have not gone on a cruise since the restart because I don't safe .  Cruising has changed so much from what I have read on these boards, that I think that I would not have the cruise experience that I want. I am enjoying life at home in  my town.  I have hobbies to keep me busy and while it would be nice for me to go on a cruise, I can live without it for now, enjoying being on land.  What is right for me may not be right for others.

It's noted on the booking, but I don't they'll have the regular cake for her, since she has Celiac and is completely GF.  Maybe they'll do a GF something.

Sorry to hear that she has Celiac.  Maybe the could make some fancy fruit, if she can have that.

  3. For a seven day cruise I sometimes bring 6 cans of diet Sunkist.  If they sold it on board, then I would not bring it on.  I also drink diet coke, which I get on board ship.

Transatlantic on Regal from Southampton, early Oct, 2023. Yes, finally thinking ahead to my retirement gift to myself!!
Have the opportunity to book M101, L103, E110, or E403.  The first 3 have the metal partial  ‘walls’ and I assume a shorter female like myself would not be able to see any water if sitting down? Also worried about wind in the two forward facing cabins. E403 is the typical very narrow balcony, but the obstruction of some equipment (not a lifeboat) is on the left part of balcony only and doesn’t prevent one from seeing the water. There are multiple sea days and the thought of having all that space for two people on the first three balconies seems ideal, but if I can’t see the water unless I stand, is there any point? We would be doing a lot of reading on the balcony.

For those with first hand experience with the categories of cabins above, what are your thoughts? PS…budget precludes unobstr cabins, so please don’t suggest that.

    Thank you

    Hi,

We have sailed in Emerald 429,433, 437 many times.  These are mid ship by the lifts.  We love these cabin.  Very good view with larger balcony.

Evening everyone. Had not thought about applying stabilization for the button holes as there was three layers of fabric. The shirt survived washing and I was able to have Jon van Zyle sign it.  Should I do anything to preserve the autograph? Signed using a black sharpie  Still have to take a photo of the signed shirt 🙃2C5739CD-E264-4F23-97B4-CEB853C88583.thumb.jpeg.47b80a5d445981209f7cbc953acf0633.jpegE0B565AF-C4F9-4746-AE36-9580DE7840FB.thumb.jpeg.807c464b9730401507bfdf3312a010da.jpeg

The shirt looks great.  I don't know about  preserving the autograph.  It you put anything on it would it take away the value of the autograph, if you were to seel it?

    Thanks Geocruiser,

I went on the website and they seem to have a great selection and prices are great too!

They may also have coupons that you can print.  They do put flyers in the newspapers.

I had live beach side in Florida on a barrier island.  Bealls was on the island.  So, the carried swim suits all the time.  There were also hotels on the island, so lots of winter guests looking for summer stuff.

Good day everyone ! Slowly getting back to sewing. Retired 8 weeks ago and I might just have more ‘time’. Question about bottom holes (I hate them, but did a trial run with snaps and they didn’t stay in the fabric of the test shirt) Did some practice button holes, the first section looks beautiful, bar tack and then go back up and this is where  the stitches are not uniform. Can you direct me to more information for troubleshooting the issue?  Machine is a Kenmore 12 Stitch - my college graduation gift all those years ago.  Thank you E7AAA006-4D57-4B4E-8AFC-623441D111FD.thumb.jpeg.715bcdd65357c46e62aedf90ab6de979.jpegD0A2B1B0-9E1B-4D17-874B-7ACC444490BD.thumb.jpeg.3aa6aced7d1f0f64a182a7b6545ef8d4.jpegfront and back of first attempt

    Would using a stabilizer help?

  9. I would not go..(But that is me)

Would you be comfortable on board?  Or worried about getting covid?  Will you be able to enjoy the cruise?  Would you not go to shows, bars or onboard activities as before, because of covid ?  Is it worth spending all that money with the chance of getting covid?  Just think about how you would or would not enjoy the cruise.

As for me and my husband we will not be cruising for a while.  We are happy with what we did before covid.  We enjoy each day , just different than pre covid.  could I get covid not cruising, maybe.  but at least I will have my own Dr. and not have the chance of being in a foreign country.

Just sort it out.  Maybe make a list of pros and cons and see which list is the winner.

  10. We were on a Caribbean cruise and were 6 people traveling together.  A friend of ours brought a friend with him.  This friend of our friend became near death ill and was in the ship's hospital. He was transported to a hospital in St Lucia, our port of call.  Holland American line was great with how they handled it.

    1. HAL sent a nurse to the hospital to as she said to me " to check out the care there".  They had a shore side person working with my friend and me.

    2.  All phone calls made by us to the hospital and Island and Canada from the ship were free.

What happen was my friend was 90 years old and a priest, it was his friend who was sick.  Once at the hospital, l  had they contacted the local priest.  He came right away.  He offered for the 90 friend of mine (who was a priest) to stay with him.  But he thought it would be better for him to stay on the ship, because of less stress for him at 90.

The man who was sick, his family was able to get there the next day by air.  The priest ( who was well known at the hospital) was a go between the hospital and the family.

But HAL kept in touch with shore side and us.

The man was in the hospital for a few weeks there.  He live for about 10 more years to a good age.

At no time were we ever left on our own, HAL was there.

Thank you for this.  The insurer made us aware of the contents on Monday, unfortunately too late to assist me.  It was documents such as this I had hoped Princess family helpline in Southampton would have directed me to. Unfortunately they did not.

Anyone reading this document should note they normally only visit if there is no tour company involved which of course Princess are considered to be.

Could the Embassy give Princess a "push" to get shore side communication with you or the family/friend in Italy?
