If you really must get a dose of Covid, just make sure that you don't get it on a cruiseship 🙂 Cruiseing is the only Industry that I am aware of that has mandatory isolation of positive cases . I now have personal experience of this and once bitten, very much twice shy for me - will not be cruising ever again until this requirement ends - if it ever does!
As far as I know people can fly in to any port in Australia and not have to be double vaccinated and they can go anywhere in the country quite freely.
People can also walk around quite freely in they have tested positive for Covid as long as they have no symptoms.
So why is it that our politicians require passengers to be double vaccinated to sail in their own country or even if it’s just in there own state?
I believe that the vaccines that we had in roughly September 2000 would no longer be effective and boosters are not required.
There are many many people who for one reason or another have not been vaccinated and don’t qualify for a medical exemption who would like to cruise.
It is my opinion that this is bordering now on discrimination.

I have just successfully opened a Citibank Plus Debit Account. They say that I will receive a "Welcome Pack". Just wondering- will that include a designated PIN for ATM withdrawals (or can I choose my own PIN) and do I choose the "credit" option when using the ATM or the EFPOS option seeing that it is my money that has been loaded. Sorry but it has been a while since I have taken money out of an overseas ATM.
Thanks in advance
You use debit and be sure to choose the currency of the country you are visiting,

Not an answer to your question, but here are the obstructed views, if you haven't already seen them.
Thanks Sinbad

Could be, if you do a search "Coral Princess and the cabin number" you should find out if they are, or any other comments related to them.
Yes D205/6 and E 207/8 are obstructed and right up front can’t risk it but thanks for your comments

Generally their around the life boat areas.
Some of the OV's are not to bad depending on their location, if you study the side views of the ship you can see the cabins with the least obstructed views, usually above the promenade deck.
Their usually around the fast rescue boats. (little speed boat like hulls)
That is what I was thinking originally but on looking at the deck plans it looked that there are obstructed up front ?

I think you are right, about mid-ships. 😀
Looks like there could be some right up the front on 8 9 10 that would give me motion sickness

Ok I had a senior moment and I did what I should have done in the first place and looked at the deck plans

I have stayed at V lavender a couple of times in a superior room (the standard are too small) but it’s ten years since last stay, it’s very convenient over the station and bus at the door,,great cold pool.

Green apples are supposed to help. Same with ginger.
I have never had sea sickness.
If your mother is on medication it might be wise to check with a pharmacist before your cruise what type of seasick tablets will not affect her medication and buy a packet just in case.
Sometimes the crossing is rough. Other times smooth.
Green apples and ginger help if you are feeling a little queasy but the trick is to prevent the sickness happening to begin with.
I get motion sick in the bath so I start my meds 3 days before an every day of the cruise

I recall our tour of Speights in 2013 as best brewery tour I’ve done. The samples at the end just kept flowing. At one point I suggested that we should maybe head out to get the bus back to ship. Our host said “no need to go so quickly, you’re bus isn’t even here yet & they won’t go without you”. Another couple of samples & I had to cross my legs on the way to ship 😁
Yes we also had the best tasting we have had in a brewery tour and we do one or two wherever we go, did one also in Greymouth but can’t remember what it was called but no matter as you could not compare.

Thank you for the detailed report have only traveled Princess and Holland America as yet ,We are booked PO for May 23 to Cairns but feel it won’t happen as when I booked I thought the double vax would have been axed by then (hubby isn’t vaxed)
If that is a non event we have a round Australia in March 24 with PO would have liked the Princess but got tired of being on a wait list
Will take my own bran 🤣

They can get screwed. Getting really sick of them and cruising is just one of many ways to travel. It's just more arm-twisting to spend more with them. Less seats available to the shows if you don't spend extra. You don't get all the food offerings if you don't pay extra.. and so-on. It's starting to grate..
Ditto. $50 is my limit

esume you are referring to the Coral Princess cruise from Fremantle? Where did you get the idea that was the launch fare?
I had the launch brochure on file for that cruise and these were the fares when it was released - see below. The current fare is outrageous, of course.
I never thought it was a launch fare what I said was this is what a found when I followed the link and the fare I quoted was from Brisbane -
Interesting also that passengers in Uk and US no longer are required to be double vaccinated (these two original vaccinations have long since lost there potency)
