  1. Thank you for all this info. I have some questions: does the price include all the items on the menu or is there an up charge for certain items such as the sea food tower? Is there a wine pairing? If so, is it covered by the price or by the classic drink package? If you book pre-cruise and then the dinner is scheduled for a port day when you have a previous commitment ( not through the ship) can you cancel for a full refund? thanks for any information you can provide
  2. OP, you posed a legitimate question that warranted a legitimate answer. Isn’t that why we are all on this board for? To ask for help and to help when we can. I wasn’t aware of the change in the chat app so I’m glad you raised the issue. So thank you for your question and thank you to all who answered in a polite, helpful manner.
  3. Thank you. It sounds like you planned it right! I don’t think that would work for us because the bride and groom have their hearts set on marrying on Coco Cay midway the cruise. The ship is leaving from NJ and most people are driving there in the morning off embarkation. But thanks for sharing your experience. Much appreciated
  4. Thank you for your response. Thank you for presenting this as a possible option. I have no idea what I’ll do.
  5. My son is getting married on the Oasis this spring and I wanted to have a rehearsal dinner at a specialty restaurant. I’ve been in touch with the “oasis events” planner via email but she first said they can sweat the group in two sections, 15-30 minutes apart. Now she said it’s actually seating in 3 groups not at the same time. Ugh! Anyone with any ideas or experience with this? The “wedding planner” through the ship is no help and directed me to the “oasis events” planner. The only other option offered is to buy out the entire restaurant for a set time at a much higher cost.
  6. Trying to organize a group dinner on a sailing on the Oasis this spring. They offered two seating options, 5:30 and 8:30. I’m concerned about choosing 8:30 If the restaurant closes soon after, we don’t want to feel rushed. But if the restaurant seats individual guests past 8:30 maybe they stay open late? Anyone know? Thanks!

  8. Thank you for taking the time to pass on this helpful information! I will definitely suggest this to her
  9. My sister, who has mobility issues, wants to accompany my family on a November sailing of the Anthem. She does not need an accessible room per se but does need to use a scooter to get around. There is currently only one accessible stateroom is available on our sailing. Does anyone know if a scooter will fit in a standard inside cabin or balcony cabin? Thanks
  10. People on my October cruise are beginning to get noticed of winning bids in the last few days. I’ve been compulsively checking my email but so far no luck. The only time I have ever received any form of communication from the Move Up program have been during business hours Monday through Friday. Has anyone ever received a winning bid notice on the weekend? Should I keep my compulsion in check until Monday? ( probably should do that anyway lol.)
  11. Thanks, it seems that he is everyone’s recommendation. I haven’t been able to get him on the phone yet because he has limited hours on the weekend but I’m sure we will connect soon. I definitely need an education on all of this. The hubby called Medicare and the rep told him that we are covered in Europe which I don’t think is correct
  12. Prior to our transatlantic cruise we are driving through Sicily. We plan to rent a car from Hertz at the palermo airport. I’ve heard all sorts of horror stories as well as urgent recommendations to buy the additional insurance at the counter. My credit card company provides additional rental car insurance but the claims process seems pretty complicated, at least to me. Should I rely on that or just purchase the more expensive coverage at the rental counter. I know this isn’t exactly a cruising question but I’m a newbie at trying DIY traveling. If it’s inappropriate to pose this question here maybe someone can direct me elsewhere? Thanks in advance 😊
  13. Thanks, there is definitely a learning curve for me. The hubby has a call in to Steve from the trip insurance store for guidance. He is also calling the credit card company to get an idea of any benefits as well
  14. I just went to the GeoBlue site and put in my information but apparently I’m not eligible ( maybe because I’m in NY?) it did refer me to HTH Travel Insurance. Does anyone have experience with this company? Thanks
  15. We will be traveling through Europe prior to cruise and visiting several European ports while on the cruise. It was suggested to me that we purchase travel insurance to cover unexpected medical costs. I’m not familiar travel insurance. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks
  16. We are traveling through Europe for 12 days before the transatlantic so laundry and luggage are certainly a concern. Still we will make room for at least one cocktail dress and the tux. It will be our first transatlantic so we want to make it feel special. But as I said earlier, it’s a personal choice. We welcome the opportunity to play dress up, but it isn’t for everyone.
