  1. I understand that, based upon availability, you can have a non suite travel companion join you for dinner for a fee at Luminae. Do you know if it the same for lunch or breakfast? Thank you
  2. We will be on the Eclipse on the 6/23 sailing which spends 3 days in Bermuda. I’ve never done overnight at this port before. We are traveling with someone with health and mobility issues who will be bringing her own scooter on the ship. However she can walk short distances such as in and out of buses or cabs. Any tour recommendations by local companies? She is interested in cultural or culinary experiences. Thank you all.
  3. thank you all who have responded to my prior inquiries regarding our stops on our Iceland/ Ireland cruise. I’m almost there with the planning but still have a few questions. Thank you for your patience! Our ship will be tendering at Dunmore East. Most of the shore excursions are to Waterford crystal Kilkenny etc. I was just on a land road trip this past October and used Waterford as a base to see all the major attractions in driving distance. So, been there done that. Still the stop is an opportunity to see more of Ireland, so is there anything to see at the port city itself? Any lunch/ pub/ shopping/ walking recommendations? I did a search and did see a walking tour posted, but maybe there are other options? Thanks all
  4. I am thinking about that. I’m not into crystal and have seen a number of glass exhibits in my travels, but I’m sure The Waterford tour has something to offer. Thank you
  5. I did not, and I’m considering doing so. I’m also considering a walking tour of cork centre. Besides the Titanic themed tours etc in Cobh, what else would you recommend?
  6. We are docking in Dunmore East. I went to rock of Cashel on the last trip and loved it, but don’t need to do it again. I will look into your other suggestions. I’m interested in history, art and architecture, but definitely want to go to AA pub to have a pint. Not sure if there is trad music midday? We are docked 8-6. Thanks for your reply
  7. I was in Ireland in the fall for almost two weeks and saw most of the major attractions from Dublin down and across to Galway. In July I’m going on an Iceland/ Ireland cruise that stops in Cork and Waterford. Any tours that are off the beaten path? Thanks
  8. I spend a fair amount of time at the casino, and always download money as a room charge to play with right at the slot machine. Can I do the same with a portion of my OBC if I intend to play that amount on that machine ?
  9. So many good ideas. Thank you. We are in Reykjavik just for the day, 7am-9pm but long enough for a golden circle tour. Do you think we would be ok booking an independent tour company for the golden circle or should I stick with the ship excursions? I am going to look into booking a ship excursion for Isafjordur based on your suggestion
  10. Thank you so much for these useful recommendations. I’m not very good at using the search engine so the links you provided are very helpful. I am also going to join the roll call today. Thanks again!!
  11. I’m going to use OBC to book Murano but may have to cancel because of a timing conflict. If I cancel the dinner reservation will the OBC be credited back to my account or do I lose it? Thanks
  12. Thank you for your response. Yes, I do realize that. I guess I should not have referenced “full sun”. I meant the potential for a sunny balcony, rather than mostly shade. Thank you for the info on the ports. I guess I thought there would be fjord type approaches or the views we had on an Alaska cruise. I’m reading up on Iceland and the ports that we will visit, but my reading didn’t extend to what to expect was the ship enters port.
  13. Am I seeing it correctly that all verandas have a step out balcony even after being revolutionized? Is paying extra for a sunset veranda on deck 11 worth it or is there an overhang? We are hoping to have full sun on our July sailing to Iceland. Bonus question for those who have been to Iceland before: is the view sailing into the ports better from a sunset veranda than a regular veranda port side? Thanks
  14. Sailing July 2024. First time to Iceland. First time on the Silhouette. I booked a sunset veranda at a premium expecting great views as we approached port but now I’ve read that the real scenery is once you are on land? (Ican book an Aqua room for less, so if there is not much to see perhaps I’d switch) What are the must sees? Any tour recommendations? I’d appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks so much!!
  15. I’ve never been on the Eclipse before. We are going to Iceland in July and haven’t been there before either. I booked a sunset concierge room thinking it would be provide the best views going in and out of ports. However today I saw that an Aqua stateroom is priced less, and would allow us access to Blu. Are the views from a sunset veranda going in and out of ports in Iceland worth it? On an Alaska trip it certainly was, but in unfamiliar with the scenery from the ship in Iceland. Anyone sailed on deck 11 before? Is there an overhang? Thanks all.
  16. Thanks I hope so! No credit card charge as yet, and both bids show as pending, so… who knows
  17. We sail this Sunday. Tonight, ( Thursday) I decided to check my bids. They both show as pending but I can’t cancel or modify either. According to the Move Up FAQ I should be able to do so up to 48 hours before sailing. Tonight is more than 48 hours from departure. Does this have any significance or am I getting the rejection email tomorrow? My cc has not been charged
