  1. Thank you for your response. Last questions: are mimosa and/or bloody Mary’s served free of charge at the elite breakfast? What time is it usually held? This will be my first time using Elite perks so I’m not sure how they work. Thanks for your patience
  2. I thought that Elite comped drinks were only available between 5-7 in bars. Are they also available ( mimosas and Bloody Marys)at the Elite breakfast? Is there a separate venue for the Elite breakfast? Is that daily? Also someone mentioned buying a bottle of wine with the elite discount at dinner. Do you have to specify the discount when you order it or is it applied automatically. Thanks
  3. Thanks. Oh well. As least the drink package and WiFi are still perks.
  4. Oh. The description on BCC said access to VIP lounge which I assumed was the Retreat lounge on E class ships. I guess not 😞
  5. Two cruises coming up on these ships. Do they have the same table minimums? Anyone have an idea of the minimums for each ship on 3 card poker, craps? Roulette? Do the minimums change depending on afternoon or evening play? Thanks
  6. Thanks, but I’ve tried that. I have some offers but my husband, who is a lower a tier at onyx, gets a lot more offers than I do at amethyst
  7. Disappointing. Btw I’m from NY and also have an upcoming cruise on the Ascent: 1/28/2024
  8. I’m currently amethyst but hoping to make Sapphire midway into my upcoming 1/28/2024 cruise. Do you know if I will get the sapphire perks right away or will I need to wait until my next sailing? I have a cruise scheduled for 3/2024. Hopefully my Sapphire status will be documented by the . How do the perks work? Does your sea card automatically give you the classic package and allows entry into the retreat lounge? Thanks
  9. That was not my experience on the Beyond 10/2022. It was 4 of us, all adults. We generally eat late. There was a huge line, 45 minute wait, at 8pm. Maybe because it was a transatlantic that made a difference? Maybe an older crowd with not children tends to eat later? On the Edge 1/2023 it was just 2 of us, and no significant lines, but it wasn’t a sold out cruise. My upcoming 1/2024 cruise on the Ascent is pretty much sold out, so I’m concerned.
  10. Were people without reservations waiting while you got seated since you had a reservation?
  11. When you were seated, had there been a line of people waiting that didn’t have reservations?
  12. I completely agree with you. I’ve been checking the app morning noon and night trying to make these reservations. I finally made 5 of them just to find out I wasted my time. When I was on the Beyond the wait on line was 45 minutes. People were not happy and the poor staff bore the brunt of it
  13. Thanks for your reply. I know about not being able to have the traditional fixed seating. But the app did allow me to make several AnyTime dining reservations at a variety of times on different dates. Will these be honored?
  14. The last time I was on the Beyond I had a traditional seating time but once onboard I was told that it wouldn’t be honored and dining was basically first come first served. Everyone waited on the same long line. . Now I’m scheduled to board Ascent in a few weeks. I was assigned Select Dining and was able to make a few reservations via the app. Will they be honored? Is there a separate line at the dining room for people with reservations? Thanks
  15. Yup. I have some bids pending on the Ascent. 32 days before sailing there were 26 suites of all types available. The next day most were gone and people were reporting successful bids on CC. Unfortunately I wasn’t one of them. Now, 24 days out, the cruise is sold out and isn’t even listed on their website. My only hope is last minute cancellations (which do happen)
  16. Thank you for your response. The minimum of the Ascent is 785pp. I bid close to that and the needle didn’t move, as weak as weak can get! Yes the Ascent sky suites are very expensive in my opinion. But it looks like it is a beautiful ship so I think I’ll be very happy in my original cabin. Hope you have a wonderful cruise!
  17. Congratulations! I will also be in a sunset veranda but on the ascent. I put in bids on a sunset sky suite and an Aqua sky suites still waiting to hear. May I ask what the minimum bid was and how much you bid over the minimum if you don’t mind sharing that information? I’m just trying to see if I have any shot. Thanks
  18. My independent host used to be able to book me into veranda or above with the perks comped as well. This year it all changed even though my play increased and I cruised more often. All he could do for me was to book whatever I had already received an offer from Blue Chip, no perks. Is this an issue with this particular host or across the board?. I know he has been distracted with some personal issues, don’t know if that plays into it. At this point I get the same comps by booking directly with Blur Chip as I would with him.
  19. I’ve noticed a trend lately where move up bids, especially for the higher priced staterooms occurred more than a month before the sailing, probably to fill those rooms that were not selling an free up the least expensive rooms hoping to sell them. Then a few rooms win move ups closer to the sail date even though the cruise is sold out, due to last minute cancellations
  20. I will be sailing in an Aqua class stateroom on the Apex in March 2024. The reason I chose to go with the Aqua stateroom over the standard infinite veranda was specifically to dine at Blu. I’ve sailed on the Edge and the Beyond and have encountered long lines waiting to get into the MDR’s so I thought it would be better at Blu. Has anyone experienced much of a wait getting into Blu on the Apex around 7:30, 8? I’ve been reading mixed reviews about Blu on the E class ships. Did I make a mistake upgrading? The upgrade was about $70 a night for the both of us. Worth the money?
  21. I’m assuming that this will be your first time on the E class? I find the food in the 4 main dining rooms to be very good. However they don’t honor a traditional dinner seating. If you get anytime dining you can make reservations on the app but available times fill up fast. I’ve been on several E class cruises and have experienced lines to be seated. On my next cruise I am booking Aqua class to have a designated restaurant. You are probably aware the the room and veranda size are the same in the classes you referenced. The difference is in the location and the amenities
  22. That would be great. And thank you OP for posting this issue on CC. I think it has raised a respectful conversation on traveling as a multiracial family
