I know that there is no charge for the HH drinks or other Elite perks. What I meant was that these drinks and perks were earned ( not merely gifted) by Elite and above cruisers who receive these perks in return for their brand loyalty and the money they have spent on Celebrity over the years. I agree with the rest of your post. If elite cruisers want to just use their HH drinks and want to optimize them as fully as possible, that is their prerogative. The drink package may not work for them. As you said, it’s their money to spend as they please.

I also have questions about this. First time not having the internet package but as elite I should get 90 free minutes and as Amethyst in the casino I think I get another 60 minutes. Are the minutes automatically on my phone? Do I need to go to the internet help desk to have them loaded to my phone? Do you have to use all the minutes at one time or can you sign in and out? Thanks!!

Do I understand that you rather not go on the cruise at all if you could not get / afford the package? If so, that is your personal choice. Others may opt to still cruise, enjoy everything they are paying for in their cruise fare, and the perks of their loyalty tier. Again a personal choice based on finances and preferences. If those people want to go on this board and share their experiences or tips on how to get the occasional drink without paying the exorbitant prices why shouldn’t they? Isn’t what CC be about? Sharing experiences and tips without judgement?

I really don’t see the point of your post other than to wonder why people might go to extremes to not have to get the drink package. As another poster pointed out, many people do scrimp and save in order to afford a Celebrity cruise vacation. Since the prices are so high now, the cruise fare alone may be at the top of their budget. A drink package, especially if they don’t drink much, might be an unjustified additional expense. If the cruiser is Elite or above, the perks like the HH drinks are not “free”. They are well deserved perks earned by the money they have spent over the years as loyal customers, which they should take full advantage of, within the rules.

No unfortunately. But I did send an email to the new president. She never responded but I received a call from the “resolution center”. Didn’t solve the issue either. I did go to the drop down menu on the blue chip club offers website and filled out a form indicating that I wasn’t getting offers. About 3 weeks later they called me to tell me the issue had been corrected and sure enough I had several concierge cabin offers. That was a while ago, no offers recently, so I think it was a temporary fix and they haven’t resolved the underlying issue.

Thank you for your review and the heads up about disembarkation. Would it have made a difference if you had been earlier or later? I completely agree that if they are going to have a long line, they should have staff making sure that people don’t cut the line. That is how arguments start and no one wants to end a good vacation on a sour note.

Thanks for your response. I have a hard time paying that much for lunch considering that meals are included in our cruise fare. I’d love to, but can’t justify it on our budget. I didn’t realize it was that pricey!

I think that is why my burger was so bad. I think it had been sitting there for a while. It’s a shame. When I started sailing with Celebrity in 2012 the mast grill burger was one of my favorites. I’ll try asking for one freshly grilled. Thanks for the suggestion

We are scheduled to check in at 11:30 and are hoping to get to the port by then but we are driving down so no guarantees. Will the OVC be packed by 12-12:30? We understand crowded and can deal with that, just need to know if there will be seating available. I think Eden cafe would also be open but are selections very limited? Im avoiding the Mast grill since we did that on the Beyond and were underwhelmed by the burgers, but maybe will be better on the Ascent? Is the lunch at Le Grand Bistro worth it, and is it easy to get seating since I can’t seem to make a lunch reservation? Thanks all.

I tried to search for this info, but couldn’t find it. My apologies if it has been answered before. If we order room service for breakfast is it still complimentary or is there now a $9.95 fee? If it’s complimentary does that just apply to a continental breakfast or does include hot egg dishes also? If we don’t do room service I’m gathering that breakfast in the main dining room is only available sea days? The other options would be the buffet or Eden? Same for lunch, with the addition of the Mast grill? Thanks

Thanks for the info and the tip on Zeus. I’ll definitely try it. And I will seek out the casino host. I usually get the drink package but since we are Elite (amethyst in the casino) I’m trying to figure if I can get away without it. I rather use the cash on the slots lol. 0n RCCL if you are in the prime casino tier the drinks are comped directly from the casino bar as well as by the floor servers, so I thought it might work the same on Ascent. Congratulations on your hand pay!

Craft Social is just outside the casino and its servers take drink orders from people actively gambling and those drinks are free. However I found on the Beyond that the servers circulating in the casino were few and far between. If you don’t want to wait for a server, can you go up to the bar, tell them that you are gambling and get a free drink to take back into the casino? If not, how has the bar service been in the casino while playing on Ascent?
