  1. We have been D+ for several years. We have done 4 cruises since restart. All were double points in a JS. First b2b on HOTS we got 56 points and on EN b2b in April we got 80 points. Our July cruise was booked outside the double points timeframe, but our Jewel b2b (13 days) is included so by the end of the year we'll have 543 pts. We always stay in JS. It's probably not too far off from what we would have had if there was no Covid and we had to cancel a b2b in late 2019 when I got hurt and had surgery for a broken ankle. At the rate we cruise, we could make Pinn in 3 or so years unless they move the ball, which of course is entirely possible with how double points have created a lot of top tier cruisers.
  2. They couldn't have read the thread. Probably just decided it had gone that way lol.
  3. Most women I saw in formal long dresses had flat or near flat shoes. Heels are never a good idea on a cruise. Too easy to slip on some of the floors (marble) or fall when there are rough seas. Highest heel I have ever worn on a cruise is about 2 inches and not a skinny one and maybe 3 inches on land. I wear only flats now everywhere (mainly due to knee injury that's still not 100%) but on cruises, I've always worn mostly flats. It makes me laugh to watch most women try to walk in high heels, especially really skinny heels.
  4. If people quit buying it, they'll rethink their pricing. But, that won't happen. We've never bought it because in any type of calculation I can think of, it's never a good or even mediocre deal and we're in the US. BTW, as of today, that's $85 in US dollars and is similar to what I've seen posted. Royal offers the pkg because it makes them money, not to save you money.
  5. I have no issue with people posting their own opinion, but they don't need to go after me because they don't like what Bermuda is doing. And since my original post was just there was a change, someone stating that people "thought" it was about dropping the fee was a problem with reading comprehension. And, really was meant to just stir the pot. For all of you that saw the title and post for what it was, You're welcome.
  6. I never, ever said it wasn't. But, it is what it is. Either pay it and go, or don't. It's a choice and we choose to pay it to cruise there. But, my original post was to just post the change to the authorization. I never said a word about the fee in the title or original post. I just posted the update. Others took off with cost, etc.
  7. I missed "Bahamas". I thought they meant for the itinerary. Oops
  8. Even though X falls under RCI, it doesn't mean they have the same "rules". We don't bother carrying wine anymore. We took a couple of bottles a few times, but honestly, it's just a hassle. It does help that as D+ with over 340 pts we get two C&A gifts so we just make those both wine (at least on cruises that are long enough) plus 5 free drinks a day. On our 6 night, we only get one but that's fine. Otherwise, we use our D+ drink coupons, but even before that, we just paid for any drinks. Alcohol is not the be all end all.
  9. How is it different than visas for other countries?
  10. Get over yourself. You are just trying to start something. This thread is about the changes in the Bermuda Travel Authorization. Let's just understand that, okay?
  11. It means whatever someone wants it to mean. Your best can be what you own or what you brought with you. My question is more the reality of it's not clear and "your best" isn't defined in any way. I was being facetious by the way.
  12. They have never explained what "Dress your best" actually means. Does it mean dress the best you own, or dress the best you brought with you? If it's the latter, then there is no dress code of any kind.
  13. We were just on EN in April and HOTS this past Nov/Dec. People were definitely dressing up less, but those that did went all out. Tuxes and formal gowns. Most women wear cocktail dresses or dress pants with dressy tops and men wear suits/sport coats with ties. Then, there's the "I don't care crowd" who try to dress down as far as possible. So, you will see it all. We stay middle of the road-cocktail attire.
  14. Thanks. Says pending but cruise is July 22. Not that I expect to get it's on EN and there's only like 8-10 GS and all suites are currently sold out. We just thought we'd try as our other cruises are b2b on Jewel and don't want to risk our cabins as we're staying in the same one for each b2b.
  15. Where do you see "pending"? I went back into my bid (modify/cancel) using the link I was sent after I bid and I don't see anything about status.
  16. We've done 4 cruises since the restart and gladly paid for all. If people don't like the costs, then they maybe need to rethink cruising. No one is making them go. I originally posted for information and then only responded to those whining about the cost, which I have nothing to do with. "Turned them off".. LOL. They can either read the change and understand it or not. Their choice. If feelings are hurt because I don't find $40 to be a lot, then I can't do anything about it. My opinion after someone else posted theirs. Okay then, you do realize you just did the same, right?
  17. The problem was getting the final approval from Bermuda. Many, many people ran into issues including not getting them before they got to the terminal and it was because the test results couldn't be added until the last day or two. But, let's nitpick the fact they made changes and I posted it.
  18. As of May 21, 2022, you no longer have to upload your test results for a cruise to Bermuda. https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation
