  1. Yeah, I agree, that's pretty much NCL's MO. But when they stated that there was THAT NIGHT, some people did get dolled up for that one evening, and there usually were a lot of photographers around, more than usual. It was like a signal to say "Ok, so if you're gonna get dressed up, TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!" Most people (me included) wore what they were going to anyway, so like I said, I don't care personally if they have it or not. I just want to make sure I give as accurate of info to my group as possible.
  2. Yeah, but they used to have "Dress up or not" night, usually on the first sea day. Have they done away with that too? Not complaining if they have, but the question was raised in my family reunion cruise group and I want to make sure that I give them the right info. Thanks!
  3. Hello all! I was just wondering if there are any formal nights or "Dress Up or Not" nights on the Prima? Or, barring that, are there any nights where there seems to be more photographers / photo stations out and about? Also, what, if any, are the theme nights and when? Thanks!!
  4. Thanks so much for posting all this! I tried looking through the Dailies you posted, but didn't see it: Are there any "Dress Up Or Not" nights on Prima? Or days where photographers are more present than others? Thanks for the review! Really enjoyed it!
  5. That all looks fabulous! Can you please share what each of those are? Thank you!
  6. Yes, I saw the cost direct from Infinity Bay, but I thought there might have been a taxi option instead. Am I to understand that taxis to and from West Bay are not available? Thanks for the response!
  7. Hi all. I was just wondering, what are the rules about bringing food or drink into Harvest Caye? Are you allowed to bring a muffin, say, or fill a water bottle? Thanks!
  8. How much is a taxi from Coxen Hole? I'm looking to do the same but wondering if the transportation from IB is worth it. Thanks!
  9. The only kids in our group are a pair of toddlers, aged 3 and 2. I don't think they're quite old enough to enjoy the kiddy pool areas. The rest of the activities are a nice-to-have but definitely not mandatory. Mostly, I need a clean reasonably accessible beach, pool, and some decent drinks and food.
  10. How was the beach itself? Is it an easy entrance to the ocean, no sudden drop-offs or steep declines into the ocean? How was the clarity of the water? Thanks!
  11. Hi everyone! I will be going to Cozumel on NCL Prima in early December for a family reunion. MOST of the family is retirement age, but there are some people in their 30's and 40's, and some toddlers (3yo, 1.5yo) as well. I'd like to find a place for the family where everyone can enjoy a clean beach with easy water entrance (some of the fam have issues with mobility -- unsteady on their feet, not wheelchair bound), but also one where there are other things to do available. I'm considering Mr. Sanchos, Paradise Beach Club (though someone said the pool is closed for ongoing repairs as of Oct), and Nachi Cocum. I've been to Playa Mia and was not impressed by it because we had to rent umbrellas separately. I'm not sure what other options are available. Any advice? Thanks!!
  12. Thank you very much! That helped me strike Paradise off my list. I'll be going in Dec with a large group, so we're just trying to find a good all-inclusive that has other things to do besides sit at a beach and eat and drink.
  13. Real good but they could have cut back on the secret sauce, got to be a challenge not wearing it. Good to know! I'll ask for it on the side! Thanks!
  14. MSC is, in my opinion based on one terrible cruise on the Divina in 2018 and corroborating testimonials by others on different MSC ships since then, a terrible cruise line. There is a reason they're dirt-cheap. I have not been on Carnival yet, but I'd like to try Mardi Gras. That said, when I looked into Cheers briefly, I think it was $50 pp / pd, which is more expensive than NCL. (Granted the cruise itself is often cheaper, so it probably washes, but also...I don't recall ever hearing about fights breaking out on NCL ships. There's been at least 3 or more in the past couple of months on Carnival to the point where they had to implement a formal fine and policy for such occurrences.)
  15. Do you think the vibe is because it's a transatlantic, or is it just a snooze-fest of a cruise? I hope things improve as they get to the Caribbean. It's one thing to have more low-key nightlife on a European or transatlantic ship; it's another thing entirely for a Caribbean cruise! I mean, I'm not expecting it to be a Carnival party, but also...I'd be disappointed in MSC-levels of nightlife... (I call MSC a floating nursing home; that was my experience on Divina in 2018)
  16. But it is "free"...or at least WAAAY cheaper than any other cruise line. If it weren't free (yes, it's like $200+ pp), we'd likely see the cost of booze go way down. It's a game. To me, that means that a Bailey's is $1 out of pocket. I'd have to purchase 30 of them a day to make the premium package worth it. On a cruise, I MIGHT have one mudslide as a dessert. The only other drink I would have is a Bailey's Alexander... $2 is not a horrible fine, even if it does kinda suck. I'm still out of pocket WAY less than I would be on like RCCL. For a group of 3 adults in a room, the alcohol package would have been more than the cost of a cruise for another person. ($1500 at $60pp/pd)
  17. So if you order like a mudslide, and you request they use Bailey's specifically, they'll charge you extra? It's also weird that the espresso notini is included...that's basically just a sweet iced shot of espresso, and espresso has never been included. I don't mind the surcharge, per se, but it would be nice if it made sense.
  18. Has anyone done the Galaxy Pavillion yet on Prima? I was wondering if you can share your overall experience and also some specifics, like...how does pricing work? Are there hourly or day passes available, and if so, how much are they currently? How crowded do they seem? Are they open on port days? How long do you think it would take to do all the things in there once? Is a day pass needed or would hourly make more sense? I'm thinking I'd like to do this (and possibly a Prima bar crawl) on Costa Maya day, since that is the most "meh" port for me. Thanks!
  19. Are the "Cocktails on Tap" part of the Free at Sea beverage package? Also, when you can, would you post the pricing for the Galaxy Pavillion and if they have day or hourly passes? Thanks so much for the review! I hope the weather improves for you!
  20. Delete me. Sorry.
  21. Do they have Aha (or other flavored sparkling water) and does the Free at Sea beverage package cover that? Sparkling water is the only type of soda I'll drink (except for Ginger Beer, if you want to consider that a soda...) Thanks!
  22. Even with the same menu day over day, NCL still has several complimentary options. The Local is awesome, and supposedly the food court area in the back will have lots of free options as well.
  23. LOL Yep! But honestly, it wouldn't have been helpful even if I knew the name; you didn't have a choice as to who your tour operator was. The theater was pretty full for that excursion and there were a lot of tour operators.
