  1. It’s a sea day, so it is time for serious shopping. The Prima is not a megaship like her BA+ cousins. She is more like her older Jewel class relatives. And many of the shops line the main halls on Decks 6, 7, and 8.
  2. If you are a high roller, enjoy the VIP casino, hidden behind unmarked doors in the Atrium.
  3. It’s the Prima’s first Christmas and the galley team went all out creating dozens of gingerbread houses and hundreds of hand crafted figurines (check out the detail on each figure below). The snowy base of the display is 10’s of gallons of Royal Icing. A young chef from the Indulge Food Hall was repeatedly lifted on to the display to lay the next section of snow (a sweet, sticky mess). And hoses, figurines and scenery was added.
  4. If you miss a port, it is refunded as an OBC that day. Normally a few dollars. Most people complaining don’t even notice the credit.
  5. Sorry about that. We had captain Morgan last night at the Atrium Bar (Penrose Bar) on the Prima. Probably more of a supply chain problem.
  6. Totally agree that there are no taxis in PortMiami that will carry 3 people to the airport.
  7. The centerpiece of the ship’s holiday display is the gingerbread city (formerly a wedding chapel). The display includes dozens of individual gingerbread houses, handcrafted decorations from Frozen, Smurfs, Minions and more. The city includes a working electric train taking city residents to different parts of the city. And, of course, the Norwegian Prima.
  8. It was 5:05. But the General Manager was on the dock looking for the family and ready to accept the call to leave them behind.
  9. We sailed on the Encore after the Escape “incident” (a.k.a. Grounding the ship at Taino Bay, poking a hole in the hull, dumping all the passengers in the DR, and incurring a 3 week wet dock in Port Canaveral followed by another 3 week dry dock in Europe - all lost revenue and the need to compensate the displaced passengers). The Captain of the Encore commented that the channel was very narrow and not much ability to maneuver in windy conditions. On our departure, our bow thrusters and azipods were running to try to keep us away from the shallows.
  10. Lots of cards this week on the Prima. We also had them on the Prima in October, Breakaway in August and Encore in April. We ask crew members for their permission to photograph their name tags which has all of the requisite information.
  11. Huh? The taxis are sitting there on a taxi stand. I, personally, would not get into a taxi where I don’t fit. I would grab the next cab in line that fit my party. I travel a lot and have [multiple] Ubers show up at the airport with a trunk full of Costco items. And have drivers complain that they need to take my luggage… when picking up from the airport…
