  1. And remember, you can use your Platinum vouchers at any restaurant (not just Le Bistro and Cagney's). The only restaurants without the complimentary bottles of wine are Onda and Palomar (they have their own sustainable wines there).
  2. Welcome to Cruise Critic! FYI Only. All of the menus as well as the Freestyle Dailies will be online on your NCL app. If you want copies of the menus, you can just take screenshots on your phone. See message above for examples. In addition to complimentary dining in the Main Dining Room, O'Sheehan's, and the buffet, there are complimentary dinners shows in the Supper Club on some nights (paid show on at least one night with a fancier menu).
  3. Welcome to Cruise Critic. Sample menus from your ship can be found at https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/escape/whats-on-board/specialty-dining Actual menus from a couple of other ships are on the following two links
  4. The price is about the same. Never used to work well. Maybe things have improved over time.
  5. No. You can not use onboard credit before you get onboard the ship on NCL.
  6. Only the newest NCL ship has some self serve mini-Freestyle machines. Other wise, you will served in a cup or glass. On a recent cruise, the fancy bars were using crystal glasses. And, you can expect a plastic cup on the pool deck (never serve in glass there). At the beverage station below, there was self serve beer, wine, and sodas. (One of the passengers donated their bottle of sparking wine).
  7. Just remember, to make any kind of claim, you need to provide proof of a positive test from an independent test center. If it is not one of the NCL approved test centers, the report needs to have information required by NCL from an accredited test facility, and NCL will make the determination on whether to accept the report.
  8. We have had our clocks changed to local time on all of our recent cruises.
  9. There is no specialty dining on the island. The food at the complimentary Skipper's Grill Buffet, Chill Grill Buffet and the snack shacks is free. You can buy some bar food at the Captain's Jack bar (which I never understood since you can walk 1 minute down the path to a full, free buffet area). Yes, there is a different complimentary dining room serving whole lobster and grilled fish inside the Coco Beach Club, but you need to have paid for the club to dine there.
  10. Basic freestyle flavors below. You have hundreds of combinations by adding other flavors to the basic drinks.
  11. Yeah, but the Luna bar is right there a few steps away if you want bar service with a wider selection of drinks. They put the most popular drinks on the mini-Freestyle machine.
  12. But also remember that Uber and Lyft are demand pricing and when thousands are getting off multiple cruise ships, the price jumps up quickly. The regular taxis are flat rate from the port to the airport and are usually cheaper than Uber.
  13. It is per excursion for Passenger 1. You cold go wave riding and zip lining at GSC and get 2 $50 off credits.
  14. It is a show about drag queens. Not a drag show. Just like the Encore has Kinky Boots. Pricilla was a great show. We saw it on opening night on the Epic. And they were playing the Pricilla movie on the stateroom TVs also (over and over) on that cruise.
  15. The ship will change to match local time in your ports of call.
  16. So, remember that a portion of the daily service charge goes to bring the crewmember salary up to their contract value. And are not "tips" above and beyond. Just like my home town. The minimum wage here is $15/hour. But, if you are an employee that earns tips, an employer can pay as little as $5/hour. The first $10/hour (that's per hour) of "tips" goes to getting you up to minimum wage. If you work a 6 hour shift, the first $60 goes to just getting you up to minimum wage. And for our local diner, that's hard because most folks leave lose change for the tip.
  17. The Haven menus are the same every day on all NCL ships. The MDR menus on the Prima are the same every day. There is one "special" each day for an additional charge. This link has all menus from the Prima While this is from a different ship, here's a few photos of items off the Haven menu
  18. Normally. But we were on a cruise the week after Thanksgiving last year and there were no decorations. 😞 That's why I caveated my comment to say "some ships don't decorate until closer to Christmas"
  19. Post #145 on the link below (click on the top title). The Encore's first Christmas. Some ships don't decorate until it is close to Christmas.
  20. It is not worth the money. We've been to CocoCay 5 times since the restart. And, full disclosure, we went to the Coco Beach club while recovering from knee surgery (our excuse) to be able to take a cart from the ship to the club with a very short walk to the beach/loungers and food. Towels a tiny bit nicer. Loungers about the same. Side tables at loungers exactly the same. Food better (lobster if you want),,, but to me, CocoCay is a beach day. and there are plenty of loungers and food for free on a beach day. Free Free Free Coco Beach Club
  21. I don't think that the grandeur has RFID locks. What folks need to understand that it isn't "avoid the chip when punching a hole". If you shine a flashlight, you will see that in addition to the main RFID chip, there is an antenna loop that runs around the card, at the edge of the card with internal wiring from the chip to the antenna loop. This is why you should never punch an RIFD card. Use the RFI fan symbol to see where this is on the card.
