  1. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2822/~/electric-outlets clearly says power strips are allowed.

  3. To be clear it is still allowed, you just won't find many references to it online or in emails from Carnival. Which is why I say I wouldn't be surprised to hear it go away at any time.
  4. That's almost certainly why it'll go away - not because Carnival cut too many stewards to be able to effectively do their jobs in a timely manner. It didn't seem to be much of an issue prior to COVID. Sure some snuck through but it didn't seem to be that big of a deal that I recall.
  5. is special food included? or is it the same buffet food just that somebody goes and gets it and brings it to you
  6. They are slowly removing references to being able to drop off bags so I would not be surprised if that is gone in the near future.
  7. These are problems that forums like this and social media have had for years, it'll never be solved. Everyone think their question is unique and deserves special attention, surely nobody else has ever thought of it before so there's no way it could possibly be on Carnival's website.
  8. How is this any better than plastic? It makes no sense.
  9. No, paper straws from back in the day - they were made of wax paper. Modern paper straws are horrible, worse than the candy straws.
  10. Taste is very subjective but I will say that I do not enjoy any of Carnival's no sugar added desserts. In my opinion they're not really worth eating.
  11. I remember back before plastic straws existed, everyone used wax paper straws. I don't recall any issues with them. Maybe we could go back to them?
  12. Carnival is taking lounges out of their ships for more staterooms and bars and casino space, fat chance they'll ever consider putting lounges back in again.
  13. I don't know the specifics of Apple's push notification service but I know there are on-device notifications, I don't know if it's possible (or even feasible) for Carnival to run their own push notification service on the ship. It's probably just easier for them to allow the traffic, but throttle it severely, so it's basically only usable for push notifications and as a side effect, text-only iMessage.
  14. This is reported on here every so often. It's how push notifications work on iPhone. If Carnival wants the Hub app to be able to receive notifications (such as your table is ready or chat notifications), they have to allow all notifications. And iMessage uses the same protocol as push notifications, so those have to come through as well. Like you said though even though you have a notification from Gmail, you can't open the app and read the email because Carnival is able to block the web from working without a paid plan.
  15. I wonder what's going where the Library is. My guess is a dedicated Chef's Table or other specialty dining.
  16. On my last cruise I saw cruisers using the library for studying (I assume they were doing remote learning from the ship).
  17. Expedia is a travel agent, it is up to them as to the payment methods they will accept. I don't think there is any reason why they can't take Carnival gift cards, but again it's up to them.
  18. Not Monster (that's a Coke product and Carnival has a contract with Pepsi), I think it's Celsius or whatever is in the small skinny cans like Red Bull. But yes - they are included with Cheers.
  19. The new Nassau facility is world class...I cannot believe Carnival is still stopping in Bimini though. I really thought Bimini was just there as a stopgap while Nassau was under construction. I have no desire to ever go back. They must be getting good kickbacks from the casino there. Mobile is not height limited like JAX or TPA - if the cruises sell, they'll put a ship like Sunshine or Conquest there.
  20. Technically speaking immediate access to staterooms is not guaranteed for anybody anymore, Carnival has cut too many stewards to offer that as a guaranteed perk. As a concession you can go to your room and drop off your carry ons and immediately leave the area so they can keep cleaning. But your room is no longer guaranteed to be ready at boarding like it used to be. Sometimes they still are ready early but it's not a guarantee.
  21. Carnival is basically Hooters without the hooters.
  22. The walk is about like walking the length of the Celebration, perhaps a bit more. Nothing difficult if you are able to walk of course. Keep your head on a swivel - you may have to cross the street a few times and there is a lot of traffic on turnaround days, especially when big ships like Celebration are in port.
  23. It's either that or scrap the vessels, probably. Elation and Paradise are already horribly outmoded due to the very limited number of balconies. They have to make them as modern as they can.
  24. Bottles are not figured in to your Cheers program because they are not included.
  25. Internet is really the big barrier to cruising. Like it or not people demand reliable internet on vacation these days.
