  1. Thanks everyone. It seems that 2 out of the 4 bookings could receive a drop. Actually not a great drop but a drop nonetheless. I gave the info to my TA and I will let you know what comes out of all of this. Thanks again:)

Well it wasn’t meant to be at this time. Actually the cruise went up a few dollars. I will keep looking!!

  2. When you are doing a price check on a cruise that you already booked (we paid tips and insurance) do you just check the price given without that info?? I suppose that is what to do;) How do you do the price check??

Thanks and have a good day.

  3. I have been checking prices for Oct.28th sailing on the Caribbean Princess for sometime now. Today I noticed that both oceanview and obstructed oceanview are the same price!! The ocean views are on Deck 5, the obstructed on Deck 8. I always thought the obstructed cabins were a little “cheaper” in price, isn’t that the way it is suppose to be?? Thoughts anyone;)

  4. I have always carried my drivers license and my seapass card for ID when going off a ship. This July we will have family members with us. The teens range from 18-15 and will have passports, our grandson has his drivers license. I am wondering if the seapass card is enough ID or will they need another form of ID to get on the ship once they go to a port. I don’t like the idea of carrying passports around however maybe they could make copies of them.

What do others do if you had a similar situation?? Thanks for the information and have a good day.:)

  5. I was just looking at several cruises that we are interested in one on the Crown Princess for December and the other ones on the Caribbean Princess both in October. The Crown has gone down $135pp. It is a 10 day. The Caribbean Princess 14 day went down $61pp and the 10 day $50pp. These prices are for obstructed view cabins.

When checking the prices I always sign in to the Princess website. I was surprised to see the prices lowered from a couple of days ago and then again could it be the cruises just “are not selling”? Whatever the reason I think it is time for a call to my TA:) Have a good day everyone.

  6. We are a family of 12 that will cruise on the Miracle in July out of Tampa. I am wondering if it would be better to get transfers to the ship or a private van service. Our TA suggested private service but I am thinking that we would have to have 2 separate vans. Would it be better to be all together on the bus seeing that we will have a lot of luggage? What are your thoughts?

Thanks and have a nice day.

  7. I was wondering how often do you check for a price drop?? I realize things change day to day, somtimes hour by hour, however when checking for price drops when do you do it??

I was lucky to read a post about the Miracle dropping prices and took advantage of it. I am very thankful for coming upon that post!

Thanks for your response and have a good day.

  8. Thanks so very much for this information. Our family each received $70 price drop and also $50 OBC. Last week was another drop and 2 families received $179 and one $458 and we received $421, not too shabby for a weeks work.

Again thanks for posting this information we really appreciate it. Have a good day.:)

  9. Thanks everyone for your comments. We are back from our TA and we got the price drop!!! Ours came down $421.00 and children each was $179.00.

I first learned of the price change from our DIL who saw it on cruise critic:) We will keep checking the prices!!

Thanks again for your comments I appreciate your help.

  10. We are new to Carnival and have booked a family cruise for July, 2018. I went through my TA but I thought before I see him today I would ask the experts;) I think we booked through Early Saver. I was wondering since the price of the cruise has come down would we be able to get the new price and what would it involve?? We already paid the insurance and the gratuities. There are 3 bookings involved.

I hope the answer is what I would like to hear. Any help is appreciated. We meet him in about 3 hrs.

Thanks and have a good day.

  11. We are planning a family cruise(adventure) in July on the Miracle. There are 12 of us going of which 4 are teens ranging from 18-15. My question will the teens be permitted to join in Karaoke??

Thanks for your responses. Have a great day:)

  12. I will be looking forward to the reviews after several of you come back from the Miracle cruises. We are booked in July for a family cruise. This will be our first time on Carnival although we cruised other lines. We picked Carnival because of the dates and the ports. Our family has 8 adults ranging from 78-48 and 4 teens ages 18-15, the 15 yr.old will be celebrating her 15th birthday on the ship (very excited) We are really looking forward to this cruise and our family adventure.

A question may teens join karaoke? Thanks and have a great day.

  13. This will be our first time cruising on Carnival. DH and I like to have breakfast and lunch in the MDR and of course dinner. We will be on the Miracle. Is the dining room opened for breakfast and lunch?? Thank you for your response and have a good day.:)

  14. We booked through our TA, our son booked through Carnival. We would like to all dine together. Our TA told me that when he called Carnival they told him our son would have to get a PIN# in order for him to have his reservation hooked up with ours for dining!!!!

Has anyone ever had to do this and what was the procedure in doing so??? I never heard of anyone getting a PIN# Help please and thank you in advance. Have a good day:)

  15. Our granddaughter will be celebrating her birthday when we are on our cruise. I know there is a package you can buy, but I was wondering does the ship decorate the cabin door?? On other cruise lines they do decorate cabin doors for special occasions. Anyone celebrate a special occasion on board?? If so what about decorations??

Thank you for your responses. Have a good day:)

  16. If there is anyone who has been on the Caribbean Princess recently have there been any issues?? I read a while ago that the smell of sewage was in the "air". Did any of you experience anything that would make one think twice about booking this ship??

Thank you in advance for your response. Have a nice day.:)

  17. As a former AF pilot, Vietnam vet and fairly avid cruiser, allow me to tell your grandson that the degree is paramount. It was the one prerequisite for military flight that could not be avoided, even 50 years ago. I rather ashamedly confess that my acquiring that degree was done with the absolute minimum amount of effort and resulted in the minimum grade point necessary to get by. I don't advise that approach anymore. In my day the Air Force had 8 pilot training bases with eight classes in progress at each base. Today, I believe, the Air Force has two (2) PT bases, my old base being one of them, Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas. I can't speak for the Navy, but I would guess the situation is similar.

Coincidentally, I played ball sufficiently in college as a pitcher that I held a few school records for more than a few years. Still the only perfect game........but I digress.

Study as well as he can and strive to do well and not just get by. Then look to fly, in the military, some of the most amazing planes that any country can manufacture. After that, he is a shoo-in for commercial flying.

Thank you so much for your post, I will be seeing my grandson and I will definately have him read this. I am not bragging but he is a good student and a left handed pitcher. He has his head on straight. Thanks again for your time in posting and thank you for serving our country!

  18. congat to your grandson. Our son actually played pro ball, back in the 80s. He choose pro over college: big mistake. Now, to your question we have never had to change with 12 people involved but that really shouldn't be a deal breaker. Just be thankful you have a good TA, let them worry about details. and again, congrats to your grandson.

Thanks for your kind words! He is the first grandchild and grandson so yes we are thrilled!! His main goal is to be a pilot but wants that degree first.

We did get to change bookings (TA did it) and we are excited to be "family" cruising. Have a great day. If I may ask what part of Arkansas, my cousin lives in N. Little Rock.
