When we first started cruising in '95 I never thought we would reach 22 cruises! We like that we unpack and can take advantage of all the ship has to offer. Our family also does the family vacation to the shore. We enjoy both very much.

So sorry for your Mom. When we were on the Royal in Nov, going down to find a seat on the end aisle in the theater I nearly tripped. Thank goodness I caught myself. When husband was coming down the steps in the Atrium on one of our cruises he tripped and almost fell into the drum set. Not good! Although people are careful things happen and when they do you feel like a real klutz. I don't think that Princess will change the railing unless others complain. Of course thats up to you to tell them the story, if it were me I'd let it go less aggregation that way. Hope Mom is doing better.

DH and I are considering a B2B. He'd like to go but on different ships, different line. To those that have done different ships how hard is it to go from one to another. We are "mature" citizens and would we have help with luggage etc? Is it too much of a hassle or is it better to stay on the same ship different itineraries??
Thanks for your answers.

How did you cancel? After final before final? With ins, no ins.
It was for the sale going on now. The deposit is refundable. My TA canceled it yesterday.

I voted yes to the poll:) Shorts are fine but they really should think twice about tank tops. Isn't there a saying "clothes make the person" or something like that? I guess dining room personnel don't want the hassle of arguing with a passenger so they don't say anything on the way they are dressed. I remember only once a man was told to leave due to wearing shorts, now that will be the norm!! Go figure, they want those cabins filled, that's the bottom line.

Once one cancels a cruise how long before it appears on your credit card statement?? Thanks for your answers :)

Andy you did a great job with your review. I felt like I was right there with you. Great pictures. You write very well, would you happen to be in AP Literature?? :)

I totally agree. We are getting ready for our next cruise and I told my wife I was thinking if just doing a long sleeve and tie because to bring suits is another bag to bring and be charged for especially for when you are using multiple airlines.

Aw, forget the shirt and tie, just wear your shorts and tank top;)

I believe Royal giving "the seal of approval" means you will see more than half the MDR in shorts/t-shirts at night. Which means if I don't feel like changing into long pants....i won't now. I did in the past.
Really hate the idea of tank tops being allowed for men.....hairy armpits at dinner. I would probably switch tables.
No.....I Would switch tables.[emoji40]

I totally agree with you. Shorts are fine, however dining with men in a tank top would not be "my cup of tea".

We stayed in cabin E718 on the Royal and the only noise that we heard were the passengers slamming their doors occasionally. Looking at the deck plans it seems that your cabin is out of range of the Vista lounge, I could be wrong. Hopefully, someone who had your cabin will respond. Be prepared for a lot of walking since your at the back of the ship. We sure did a lot of walking the 10 days we were on the Royal. My DH is quite good at direction and knew what elevators went where. Me not so good! We sure got our steps in that cruise. Have a great cruise! Hope I helped a little.

The same as sales in shops. Products that are not selling as well as expected get reduced. Those that are selling well, don't.
That makes sense to me. Thank you :)

Thanks to both posters for the information. You would think that if any cruise line is posting a "sale" they would put all cruises in that sale. I think I'll watch both of the Crown sailings and maybe the next "sale" will include them. I wonder how the marketing people decide on what cruises to have on sale. Any ideas??
-
After booking a cruise on the Come back sale, I saw a back to back on the Crown for 11/8 and 11/13. On the website it didn't have deal or sale mentioned. Am I to assume that these particular cruises aren't in the Come back sale? Also, (I hope I don't sound goofy) but is it only the cruises that are stated Come back sale, the ones that I could rebook and have the perks?? I think so but would like to know what you all have to say.
Thanks for your replies:)

I agree with BillOh! I would like a true 10-12 day Caribbean. We like the smaller ships so suggesting Jewel, Serenade would be perfect. I guess we can only "wish".

Is the deposit non-refundable? It doesn't say how much the deposit would be, I'm assuming its the regular deposit.

If you can switch cabins!! There is a site where most of the obstructed cabins for Princess are listed with pictures! Google cabin view by rename. I just did and found that all 600 and 700 cabins on Caribbean Princess are not so good. Starting with the 500 and down #s you should surely find a good cabin. We have booked obstructed cabins and found that the views are pretty good. Your not in your cabin that much but its nice to see out. The cabin pictured is one where it looks like crew could walk! Good luck, keep trying for obstructed. Let us know .

I booked a cruise, thought this was the one for us! It is 14 days in Oct. on the Caribbean Princess. Okay, now we all know woman can change their minds. Today I received an email from Holland America with their "sale" event. Oh boy there is a cruise that sails on Oct. 31st that looks very nice.
Question I think I know but you people are the experts. Since I'm far from final payment I can cancel without penalty. The deposit is refundable. So if I want to cancel and book Holland America there wouldn't be a problem would there? I guess my TA would just put the deposit from one cruiseline to another. I have an email into them but thought I'd check with the experts first.
Thank you!

I don't think your completely nuts just a little!! We had specialty dining and chose the Crown Grill on the Royal. The dinner was fine, however, the music coming from the Wheelhouse bar spoiled the atmosphere. We decided no more specialty dining for us. So I guess I'm a little nuts right along with you!

All of the postings have great tips. Mine is a little different. If you or your husband to be have a tendency to get motion sickness be prepared with some medication. I am one who has experienced motion sickness. I find that taking Bonine several days before I cruise is my cure. I hope that you have a wonderful cruise and many happy years of marriage.

My question is this: just booked Oct. 7th Caribbean Princess 14 day. It is with the come back sale. I saw somewhere that the Sip & Sale started last Sept. I would not be able to do that if it is in Sept. would I? Can you do it after final payment? Final payment would be due in August(figure 75 days before cruise). I would be able to rebook if I see my cabin price going down correct? Why isn't life simple??

Does anyone know if the deposit for a cruise is refundable under this current sale? We are considering a cruise for October.
Thank you.
