I'm wondering how they could deep clean a ship in the time period one set of passengers get off and another set gets on. Let's think for a minute! How many passengers when getting on the ship have been or are experiencing virus symptoms? Also how many passengers fail to wash their hands after using the restroom? Everyone should take precautions and hopefully avoid getting sick.

We were on the Royal in November. This was our 10th Princess cruise. I was surprised that steak wasn't on the alternate choice menu. It was offered once out of 10 days. When I asked about escargot our waiter said it will be offered toward the end of the cruise. It was offered once also. I found that the food was good not great. Of course, there is the specialty restaurants where we ate at the Crown Grill one evening. The dinner was fine nothing to brag about. The turnoff of the Crown Grill was the music coming from the Wheelhouse bar!! Definitely not dining music. After 22 cruises I feel when we started cruising in '94 dining was a lot better than the present time. I know others will disagree with me and that's fine, just my opinion.

Does anyone remember when the "3 for free " promotion was offered the last time?? I booked our last cruise in November with it but can't remember when it was offered(senior moment).

I just checked the Oct. cruise we are interested in!! Prices are the same! However, deposit is refundable $100 and free gratuities. Deal or no deal?? I think we'll take it and keep looking for the prices to come down.

I'm wondering after looking at the PDF for the Come back new sale. The cruises listed are they the only ones on sale?? If so, they don't have many to choose from. If I'm wrong please let me know.

I have been trying to decide to book an October cruise on the Caribbean Princess for some time. In fact, I even had a hold on a cabin and then decided to cancel the hold. The anniversary sale would give us $550 OBC not too shabby, $250 military and $300 anniversary sale. I'm seriously thinking of booking before the sale ends. I don't think another sale will give us the OBC that this one offers. If the cabin prices go down I think I would be foolish to cancel and rebook and lose the OBC.

Any thoughts for this decision??

I found the seats to be tight and missed the trays that you could put your drinks on. Actually, I felt like I was sitting in an airplane seat! Not to my liking at all.

I received a call last week from a Princess TA. She was very pleasant and saw that we have sailed on Princess. When she called I actually was on their website checking out cruises!! She asked if I booked through a TA and when I told her "yes", she said that she didn't want to intrude on that relationship. She said that Princess has respect for travel agents. I found her very nice and since her call I have received emails with sales that are going on. I didn't find her pushy in fact I've been considering emailing her for prices.

I guess this is one of Princess marketing practices. It does give people another option when checking prices.

I'm glad I came upon this post! I am considering booking a cruise on the Koningsdam for Oct. We have cruised on Princess, RCL, Celebrity and Norwegian. We are "seniors" and are seasoned cruises. When choosing a cruise I choose by the itinerary. I like the itinerary for the Oct. 18 '17 cruise so this may be a first time for us on HAL. We like the smaller ships and don't need "glitz".

Any thoughts for me??

We never left from Galveston and we wonder what is the distance from the airport to the port. Those of you that traveled to the port of Galveston did you encounter any problems?? We are looking at the October '17 offers on the Liberty of the Seas.

We would like to do a back to back cruise. It sounds simple but I was wondering for those of you that do them, how do you choose them. Do you go on the same cruise line, different ships?? Do you go on different lines (say RCI then Princess)? Do you choose them for the ports or length of the cruises??

I was very surprised to receive a welcome email from Princess today. It was welcoming me for my first cruise on Princess. They also were extending an OBC of different money prices for length of cruises if taken in 60 days. This was very nice of them, however, the cruise we just came from was our 10th Princess cruise. I didn't bother to notify anyone about the error. I thought it to be a little funny. Has this ever happened to you??

Given your experience do you have any recommendations on where to get a table at the Crown Grill on the Royal... if that is possible .... to escape loud music.... we will be on a TA would like to use the Crown Grill a lot... maybe not if music is such an issues... of course... those managing the grill, could insure more dinner music was played during dinner hours.

My suggestion to you would be if possible to go when its not in operation and take a look around. You just walk through the Wheelhouse and you would be able to see all the tables and booths. The music would be what the entertainment is for that particular evening. Trust me--music was loud!! Once was enough for us!! Good luck, enjoy your cruise.

We had the opportunity to receive a dinner invitation from our travel agent for the Crown Grill while on the Royal Princess last week. I made the reservation for 5:30 (early diners) and was disappointed in its location. It is located behind the Wheelhouse Bar. That would be fine except the loud music coming from the bar all through dinner wasn't what I expected from "specialty dining". I wonder how many find this to be annoying when trying to speak to the people at your table. I thought "specialty dining" was a more intimate dining experience. I was proved wrong. The dinner was great, service good, but only if the music wasn't so loud!! Just my experience!

We will be on the Royal in Nov. and I was wondering about the Internet packages. I can't remember if they offer a "deal" once your on board. I always purchase a package to keep in touch with family at home. If anyone knows the prices once on board would you be so kind to let me know.

I found two coffee cards from previous cruises. One from the Star Princess April '15 states "Unused specialty coffees redeemable on next voyage. Complimentary coffee and tea only applicable to voyage of purchase". That card has 3 unused punches:) The other card has to be "old" because its the Jack of Java card. It states " Present this card when receiving your specialty coffee and your server will punch a hole into one of the crowns". This card has4 unused punches. We are going on a 10 day cruise on the Royal 11/6, these cards will come in handy. The card from the Star is stating that its the Star and the voyage number. The Jack of Java card only has printing about the card on the back.

So glad I read this post. I guess I'll save a few $$$ before purchasing another card. Thanks everyone and have a good day.

Learning seems to be a lost concept in today's world. And, I am constantly surprised how many computers don't seem to have google.

 

If you teach someone to find information, they are empowered and can do it themselves. As long as people are willing to answer very basic questions over and over again, there are always those who are happy to have their hands held and to be spoon fed their entire lives.

I just flew a few weeks ago on Southwest. I had Pre-check on both flights, going and returning. I didn't realize I had Pre-check until the TSA agent told me that I didn't have to stand in the long line with my husband. He told me what line to go to if I ever get it again. Coming home from the cruise I printed boarding passes and our granddaughter had pre-check. They say they do it randomly. Now I'll know what to look for on a boarding pass.
