Switch cabins once onboard?
erinsmom03 replied to CruiseGirl4ever's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You're welcome and good luck! I hope it all works out. We were in a similar spot a few years ago, had a room between us and our cousins. It worked out okay, but definitely prefer being right next door. Even if the room isn't connecting, being able to open up the balconies makes it connecting and a great space to hang out together. -
Switch cabins once onboard?
erinsmom03 replied to CruiseGirl4ever's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have no idea if this will work or not, would make me nervous thinking of all the ways they could mess up with the billing doing that. Don't give up on finding rooms next to each other, keep checking and maybe some will open up that you could move to. -
Booked inside cabin - having regret.....
erinsmom03 replied to dizzyr's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I personally hate inside cabins, my family doesn't care one way or the other. Since I do the booking, I win lol. Have you looked at videos of the inside rooms on Mariner or other Voyager class ships? That could help you know what the room is like. -
RCL Coffee Cards: Beware FALSE ADVERTISING!
erinsmom03 replied to 70KToM's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Happened to us when we tried the coffee card in 2019 on Ovation, even with tipping every time. We bought the refreshment plan ever since, because we drink iced coffees all day long. Now that we are diamond, we can skip it, thankfully. -

Yes, only the two on deck 12 have the hot tubs. -

Thank you! Very good to know. I am looking forward to some relaxing time on our balcony enjoying the hot tub! -
Allure OTS: 2BR Grand Suite balcony hot tub question.
erinsmom03 replied to binro01's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I was just able to move from our 2 bedroom GS on deck 9 of Oasis to one of the ones on deck 12, for our cruise in February. Was the hot tub warm/hot? Did it have bubble action like a jacuzzi? I'm very excited to surprise our travel party with the new room. Both of the suites on deck 12 were gone when we booked, and the category has been sold out for a very long time. I lucked out today! -
Allure Of The Seas Galveston
erinsmom03 replied to SailorMan98's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We took a Lyft car from IAH to Galveston. It was only a little more than paying for two of us on the shuttle. We did the same on the way back to IAH. -
Have you done RCCL to Alaska?
erinsmom03 replied to sadiwest's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We've done two cruises with Royal to Alaska, but never a cruise tour (yet lol). We sailed on Ovation out of Seattle in 2019 and just sailed on Serenade out of Vancouver in July. Both our cruises were roundtrip, although I hope to do a north or south bound in the future. Loved our cruises to Alaska! Each port city offered a little something different to enjoy. -
Deployment 2024-25 booking season begins
erinsmom03 replied to Biker19's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I ended up calling early this morning before heading to work, since I couldn't get to the British Isles sailings on the website (error message), and I was able to book our 12 night BI cruise for about $750 less than the same cruise for 2021. I was quite happy!!! -

That's so exciting!!!! I'm sure it will be a fantastic way to celebrate your retirement! As teachers, there's no way we can take off for a TA. We go back in August, and go through mid June. Most of the TA's I've seen are in May and September/October. I plan to celebrate our retirement with a nice 25 or so day cruise from Vancouver to Australia! -

We can't do any TA until we retire... but I am waiting for the 12 night British Isles... to replace the one we missed in 2021 -

Me too! Interestingly, the random May Europe cruise that has been there all week disappeared... maybe that means they're working on the release??? One can only hope! -

@Biker19 and @ONECRUISERwhat are the odds that the cruises will be released after midnight? Or should I just plan to getup early tomorrow? -

Looks like Jewel will return to Edinburgh! This is what I'm looking for, but with the 12 night British Isles. Would really love to see a 2 day stay there like they had scheduled for 2021 (before Covid). -
Policy Change to Best Price Guarantee
erinsmom03 replied to Gretchendz's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I am a firm believer in taking advantage of every price drop I see. We had 4 cabins booked. in July for a group of 9, and I saved each cabin thousands of dollars in price drops. I doubt that will ever happen again, as this was when Covid was affecting the cruise industry, and pricing was down. But I was thrilled to save all that money for myself and friends. Also, when the 5th cabin we had booked cancelled because of Covid protocols, they received their full refund, and rightfully so. A refundable deposit is a refundable deposit. -

Thanks to both of you. I will definitely be doing more research before making this decision. So far, I don't see an itinerary that would work in 2024 on Edge. Still trying to be hopeful that the RC itineraries will be what we are looking for.
