  1. I have been on MSC in both the yacht club and with the "regular" folks.

I will say, there is NOTHING like the yacht club experience.

However, we enjoyed our time with the "regular" folks but have another booked in the Yacht club for Halloween because we loved the experience!

Just remember, a cruise is what YOU make it.

    Enjoy!

I haven't. For the price, you can get ships wifi and call using facetime, messenger, Whatsapp, etc. Your phone may even have wifi calling capabilities. When we're in port we do opt in for travelpass at $10/day, and find that more than sufficient for checking back in.

    This!

Anytime diners can eat at the 3 designated restaurants one time free. If you have set time, then cant eat free at those pay restaurants. At least it used to be 3 restaurants.

Not true on Excel.  You can eat at Cucina and Chibang for free one time even if you have set dining times.  Not sure what the third one is that you are referring to.

What does Anytime Dining do for the dining venues? Do you eat at those places as well for regular dinner (still charged?) Thank you!

If you have set dining time you have to wait until after 7:45 to go to any specialty restaurant.  With anytime, you can go anytime (lol)

Cucina and Chibang are free on Excel ships for the first visit only.

You must try Emeril's if you choose Celebration.  The food is fabulous and very minimal charge.  Get the shrimp Po boy-it's yummy!

Celebration is my all time favorite ship.  Been on it 4x and going for a fifth in July.

    Have a great cruise!

  5. We have sailed MSC twice, all were comped cruises from urcomped.  Once in the yacht club and once in a Bella cabin.

The yacht club experience on the Seaside was fabulous but I was not a fan of the food.  However, food is subjective and someone else may have a different opinion.  The service was beyond what I expected.

The Bella experience on the Divina was okay but again, I was not thrilled with the food.

We are booked in an Aurea Suite on the Seashore for Halloween and am looking forward to trying that.

We are hoping the food has improved, but that will not make or break the cruise as we can always find something to eat.

I have never experienced poor service from cabin attendants or servers.  We did however, have a poor expereince ( on the Divina) with one of the matr'e d's in the MDR one night and I was sure to tell him (and his superior) he was in the wrong position as he did not have any customer service skills.

I will say, their ships are beautiful.

We have sailed many different lines. As you can see in my signature, we are Carnival loyalists (not cheerleaders) but are willing to try other lines for a change of pace.

    Happy cruising!

We ate what we could, paid, then went to catch the comedy show. The show started at 10. We got there around 9:25 and the line was already pretty long. The limelight lounge holds a lot of people tho, so we knew we were good to get a decent seat. At about 9:46 they let us in.

The comedian was Jorge Solano. When we sat down the lady in the chair next to mine kept bumping my chair. I hated to be “that lady”, but I had to get up and scoot my chair over. When she saw me do it she apologized profusely, but it wasn’t her fault, and I wasn't upset. The chairs were pushed very close together. The comedian went on and he was alright. That show didn't really contain prepared material. He wanted to work with the crowd. This is not my favorite type of comedy especially if it doesn’t work out. There was a guy that didn’t really want to be involved or a part of the "show", but the comedian wasn’t having it. He was basically bullying the guy off and on. He would move on to another topic, then go right back to calling the guy out. It ended with the guy low key threatening the comedian, which (if you could imagine), made it exponentially worse. The comedian wouldn’t (couldn't?) let it go. He commented on it a few more times after that. Unprofessional. I wanted to tell him to just put them Ha Ha's on us and end the rah rah rah and back and forth, but I'm sure that advice would've fallen on deaf, and possibly missing ears. I could tell audience guy was upset too, cuz he kept randomly talking loud to his friends and was not respecting the comedian or his show. Lady Luck was on the comedian's side too, that guy looked like he was about that action. It reminded me of the Dave Chappell episode "When keeping it real goes wrong". This went horribly wrong.

It was also bland. I was fading fast, and I liked it. Sleep was calling my name, and I picked up on the first ring. When it was over, I went and got hot water for my "turn in" tea. W went to a bar for a nightcap.

Our Diamond Brunch Invitations were in the cabin along with our Diamond VIFP gifts. We were supposed to get them on the Horizon, but they ran out. This was the luggage tags and passport covers that W was ranting about on the Horizon. We'd received an email before the cruise telling us that we would receive them on this cruise. W really wanted them so I’m glad they came thru.

I went to bed shortly after returning to the cabin.

Before I fell asleep, I said a prayer thanking God for Lume deodorant. That stuff is some sort of voodoo magic. I also prayed that it doesn’t cause any negative side effects that have yet to be discovered. I'm gonna be peeved if I'm watching TV and a commercial starts with "If you or your loved one used Lume deodorant products, and now suffer from big hot dog fingers and baked bologna breath, you may be entitled to compensation". Block it God.

Elite not as special as pre Covid when there were only like 25 capacity controlled but still better than Ultras which makes the casino crazy busy.

There were 105 Elite passengers on the last cruise this month.

  9. I have sailed on many Elite cruises (not as one of them) and the casinos are always packed.

People sit at the machines and tables before they open in order to play.  If you are a late-nighter, you will find a seat or machine at that time.

However, I will say, Ultras and premiers are much worse.

  10. Just off the Celebration.  YTD is the best choice.  However, the MDR is not great.

You do check in on the app and it does tell you how long the wait is and they will hold your table for 10 minutes.

We checked in for Cucina (free option on excel) and it was 50-60 minute wait.

We ususally check to see the wait time (you can check before you commit of just cancel if its too long) while we are in the room getting dressed.

The specialty restaurants are the best.

As Jamman54 (who cruises quite often) has stated, he never goes to the MDR on Excel.
