Here and ready for Alaska. This will hopefully be one of the next ones we do. Especially since my kid moved all the way across the country from us to live in Seattle. We can stay with him for a few days pre cruise. Can’t wait to follow along.

If you don’t know what door slamming is, you most likely are someone being complained about.

Wondering if you might elaborate as to which venues you recall were noticeably affected? We're on Magic in 2 weeks (May21) so of course I'm curious -- but only (or mostly) about dining venues, stateroom services, on-and-off ship at ports etc, the standard must-have activities. TIA...
We had days where it took more than 15 minutes after being seated to ever have the wait staff to acknowledge us in the YTD MDR. No water, nothing. Service in Cucina was non existent. Maybe we just had a string of bad luck. It’s what we experienced. The bars with the exception of the tides bar were staffed and putting out drinks perfectly. It seems like they left the guy at the tides bar to fend for himself when we were by there. At peak times in the buffet tables weren’t being cleared when people left. I cleared my own table to be able to sit down. No staff to see. Again, this was at peak lunch. I felt for the crew.

I agree with everything you said. One thing I will say as a semi-rebuttal. Don’t sail at capacity if you are only staffed at 75%. Our Glory sailing at reduced capacity in October was wonderful. We sailed at an appropriate ratio of passengers to crew. Just got off the Magic Sunday which was sailing at very close to capacity. We enjoyed the cruise but there were obvious staffing shortages and I feel for the staff trying to compensate. Some aspects were minimally affected, some venues were very noticeably affected. We will probably take a pause to let everything shake out. We have other things that life has presented that will take precedence anyway. I think the Carnival needs to assess capacity vs crew. Your opinion may vary.

Just got off the Magic and we are taking a pause for a while. We have other things in play as well but with rising prices and staffing issues we experienced we will take that pause for a bit to let everything sort itself out.

Your folio number is your onboard spending account number, not your room number. They do that for security. Your room number is not on your card.

Blue cards around us walked down for dinner and didn’t check in on the app. 70 minute wait. Good luck.

The 10-20 minute wait time when we clicked on reserving our table for the MDR is currently 45 minutes and counting. Not a lot of movement at the door. We’re by far not the only ones.

We had it for our Mardi Gras departure two weeks ago. They asked to see the Verifly app, and then proceeded to ask us for all of our covid paperwork. Luckily we anticipated this scenario and had it all printed out and ready. We asked about it and we were told they are still checking the accuracy of the app. I believe others just had to show the app, but I was going on vacation, so I really didn't bother to look that hard.
So I asked this earlier but maybe I wasn't clear. Can we have both mine and my wife's info in VeriFly on one phone or does she need to download it on her phone as well? We will obviously still have all of the paperwork until the bugs get out of the embarkation day system. I apologize for being redundant.

Now that the majority of smoking sections are on the starboard side we will be booking port side balconies if we can. Our upcoming cruise in less than 3 weeks is a starboard cove on the Magic. If it weren't for the smell of smoke I wouldn't care which side we were on.

I just downloaded it for our 4/23 Magic sailing. I haven't gone through the app yet. Do we both have to have the app or will it accommodate both of us on my phone? Thanks.

Boarding on time. Full flight. 100%. They are offering $600 credit plus your full one way airfare refunded to wait and take the 6:20pm flight. Oh that’s hard to pass up.
Same day? I may have done that.

I'm getting my booster tomorrow. I don't care if anyone requires it or not. I'm doing it for me. We sail the last week of April so I want to be done in plenty of time to alleviate any issues.

Say hi to my kid and his wife when you're in Seattle. Sad that we don't get to live vicariously through you until Alaska. Hope it was good for you.

If you book closer to mid ship you are under guest services, not the galley. We booked in the 2300's in April which is not under the galley. Do some checking and you should be fine.

I wonder if they called it a Michigan pasty because no one would know where a Yooper pasty would have come from.
Had them up in St Ignace on the way to cross at the Sioux.

Chef's Table cancelled through end of June

Staffing issues were noticeable on our Magic cruise at the end of April. The issue was we were sailing at near capacity. All of the venues were affected. Steakhouse, Cucina, MDR. This is not surprising.
