  1. The offer to changes happened a lot in the past as ORV said they cut back on overselling the few years before covid so the offers were not as frequent What ever the reason O will figure it out Lots pf pax & just wanting to cruise again & with the limited capacity in the past year or so things were slim picking it you did not jump in right away Other lines play the same game JMO
  2. I guess the only way around it is if the Country will accept the YF wavier or get the shot now https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/CotedvIoire.html I would check other countries on the itinerary to see if required Option 2 try to get air changed or cancelled with some refund/credit The US Government travel advisory which you could use as an reason to cancel 😉 Worth a try
  3. Maybe an issue getting crew Not all previous crew will be able to return so new hires must be found Some may have found other employment during covid Oceania will work it out at some point
  4. I never use the card holders & have a bunch like Orv has his tote bags 😉 Too bad about the cling wrap I hate the fact that are reaching in over the food ..dead skin/hairs falling into the food 🤑 Wish they would just put the glass down to the counter & be safe JMO
  5. Is it Azamara or Africa that require the YF shot? Land trip? Safari ? Looks like for early March it is Azamara or MSC as far as cruises go I would see if you can change the flights with minimal loss or spend a few days in Capetown & fly to another Country to pick up a cruise JMO
  6. Maybe all those FCC 's to use up by the end of the year Plus they are now opening the ships up to more than the old capacity controlled numbers Enjoy the cruise
  7. Not sure if true or not but have heard some lines block VPN s I have not worked from a ship I know people try with difficulty & usually have to do it late at night or early in the morning I would ask on the forum for the cruise line involved many workaholics out there JMO
  8. sometimes it is just the way people are they do not know how to take time off 😉
  9. They usually arrive earlier but would be cautious about booking flights before 12 noon as you know things can go pear shaped 😉 FYI a good idea to put your Country in your profile helps people answer questions like this JMO
  10. we have been in 7115 & 6084 on the R ships & when the Captain cruises at speed there is vibration in the aft quarter of the ships It is not all the time but it can happen JMO
  11. True Hopefully by spring things will be better People can still use O air & be protected if the port changes but I would still fly in early for an overseas embarkation YMMV
  12. For us it was worth the fee to fly in a day or more early pick the route ..non stop when possible I no longer can do 14 + hr in coach so we do our own air When you do find out the route it may not be to your liking Just an option Enjoy the cruise
  13. sometimes it depends on Citizenship as well Some will take more time to clear with US Immigration than others Will Miami be your 1st US port ?
  14. Yes you could get non stop 1 stop or more depending on how many seats they have contracted for those routes I am one that likes to fly in early & KNOW what route/airline I am on so we pay the deviation & pick the flights we want YMMV I see they have Air Canada delta or AA on that route so you could get one of those as I know they do have contracts with those carriers it could be a 14 hr flight to 34 hr flight
  15. Call & ask what carrier they use for that routing or wait for the surprise routing 😉
  16. On the website for N.A. they have them under the cruise https://www.silversea.com/destinations/south-america-cruise/rio-de-janeiro-to-bridgetown-mo230222012.html Maybe you can call SS & ask they send you a PDF file
  17. Why not just book your own air on the carrier of your choice If you want to fly in before embarkation day you will need to request the flights starting about 270 days out & then pay the non refundable deviation fee once you & Oceania agree on the flights Compare what Oceania will give you to doing your own air They have contracts with several air carriers ..I am not sure what ones they may use to Asia someone here might know You can always inquire with O via your TA if you have one or just call & ask what airlines they will use for your routing
  18. Do you mean foreign transaction fee? I have not come across a CC with a currency conversion fee so not sure what that is ?
  19. We order a Cappuccino in the GDR after dinner on the O class ships Tastes fine to me They may have a machine in the area as it never seems to take too long to arrive
  20. You can get a day pass for a fee But it is just the hot tub & loungers there Riviera has the larger T pool If port intensive I would get a B cabin & try for a pass on a sea day On embarkation day go tour the spa deck out & see if worth the $ There are 2 hot tubs on the pool deck free to all JMO
  21. Horizons& the Terrace have the self serve machines
  22. 14 day r/t from Montreal on a 20,000 grt ship to Bermuda & parts in between
  23. USD We have a TD USD VISA card along with a TD USD Account so just pay the CC when we get home If I have USD cash I just go to reception a few days prior to disembarkation & pay the onboard account You could also get a CC that does not charge a Foreign transaction fee like the Home Trust Visa
  24. I use flat gingerale just sip on it when you feel sick
