  1. Hi - in my experience, you can only use/combine "matching" offers you and your spouse receive. Usually that's from the same sailing, or those having a similar code. We don't seem to be allowed to "stack" individual offers. As far as getting offers recently, we have both received new offers in the last few months. Not a lot, though... and
  2. Rudi and Arlene are the bar servers in Playmakers, and are terrific.
  3. That's their normal port. We sailed from there in May. Haven't toured the USS Iowa that is in front of it yet, but hopefully will this Fall as we are B2B2B in November. The ship is is great shape.
  4. Had some great info shared on this topic recently...
  5. Just a comment. I scan these boards regularly, and while most of the posts are somewhat repetitive and at times trivial (how many times can we debate gratuities and menus πŸ˜†), every so often you come across one that gives you great information, like this one. We're all aging/dealing with age issues, and many of us could find ourselves facing a situation similar to this. It's great to see a group of "strangers" sharing information and problem solving to try and help one of us with a challenge. And even better - especially in these strange/strained times - it's enheartening and uplifting to see comments that show compassion and caring. Many people ask me what it is I like so much about cruising. I tell them that it's all about the people you meet. I hope to bump into many of you on our next sailing!
  6. We were on May 6th to 11th, and it was out of service the whole cruise as well. You'd think they'd fix it before the Alaska season...
  7. No CBS onboard. Just ESPN for sports, which itself is limited (unless you enjoy cricket)...
  8. Unfortunately unless ESPN has it, they won't be available...
  9. It should look like this when you sign in and open profile...
  10. Thanks all for the info - very helpful! We are sailing on the Reflection in January.
  11. We'll be on our first Celebrity cruise in well over a decade in January, having been focused on RCL. I've noticed many people on these boards have sailed both, and I'm hoping those of you that have might share your opinions/comments on what you see as the major differences. Feeling a bit like a newbie as I negotiate the Celebrity planning process, so any insights or tips on anything would be appreciated. Here are some things I've noted so far: - We transfer over as Elite, and I've already noticed significant differences in how we book drink packages and internet, etc. "Sale" prices don't seem to really be on sale, and Elite benefits have to be requested by phone? - We would usually book specialty restaurant packages as well, but I'm seeing a number of comments that the MDR food is very good and comparable, so I'm unsure of the need? - We are rated in the casino on RCL, and actually booked Celebrity through a casino offer. I see as Elite we get some drink benefits during happy hour from a limited menu, and it appears everyone gets free drinks in the casino while playing? Do we need a drink package (yes, we do indulge daily πŸ€ͺ - We're in a Veranda stateroom on deck 8, but I see there are many different classes of cabins as well. We normally sail in Balcony or Jnr Suites on RCL. What can we expect from the amenities, etc? Or are they very similar? It's a strange experience switching - we've done 44 RCL cruises, 38 of them since our last Celebrity cruise in 2011 - so everything on RCL is second nature. Your comments would truly be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  12. Well, the "explanation" was that they were throwing away a lot of food because the servings were too large, which I could relate to given our struggle to get through 4 8 piece rolls (especially the Futomaki which is a beast!). But reducing the size to half is heavy handed and clearly a cost cutting exercise. That being said, we still enjoy it and if we're still hungry we add 1 more roll a la carteπŸ˜„
  13. Ten cruises since the "change" and multiple different experiences. We have done 3 night, UDP, BOGO and Discounted package onboard as well as just booking the restaurant a la carte. Each time we ordered the same - 2 appies, 4 rolls, no desert. In the earlier cruises, sometimes we received 4 piece, sometimes 8 piece rolls - no rhyme or reason it seemed. But by the later cruises, we were getting 4 pieces. On the last one, I asked to chat with the manager of Izumi to try and understand. He explained that any package pre-purchase (UDP, 3 night, 5 night or BOGO) would receive 4 piece rolls. The only way to receive 8 now was to order a la carte and pay menu pricing. I agree with one of the earlier posters - 4 seems too small, 8 seems too much (although we never left anything on the plates 😎) We're back out again next month, and will test this again as Izumi is our favorite.
  14. But you do grab a nextcruise thru the app I hope? You get the bonus but don't have to deal with the onboard part. You reference the reservation once you have all the data and are ready to book.
  15. I had booked a 7 day on the Anthem in a balcony, and when we checked there was only 1 GS available, so they put us in a two bedroom Grand Suite. Now I have my own bedroom to sleep in if I end up in the doghouse at some point...πŸ˜„
  16. I also hit Masters this year, and since that time have been on 3 sailings. It's pretty obvious that many of the RCL team do not know about the program and benefits, as my experience on the first cruise was similar to yours - I had to ask for and explain what should have been automatically offered. The second and third cruises were better, and the hosts did make a point of making contact. But that said, it's certainly not what you'd expect the a "top tier" experience to be. I do think that the comment someone made about the Key is pretty accurate in some ways. Masters simply are included in their embarkation and lunch. The Grand Suite annual benefit is definitely nice, but so far the casino offers and perks are no different to Signature. We'll see how things go on the 10 upcoming bookings this year and next winter. At this point if I don't hit it again before next march, I don't think I'm missing much. On a side note, it's always interesting to read the comments people make when you open a "Masters" thread. The name seems to bring out the comedian in many πŸ˜„!
  17. Thanks all for the comments. We'll see what comes when we board...
  18. Thanks - it's the gifts I'm curious about. The wine and water that is gifted in the beginning of the cruise. As I'm in one cabin and my wife is in the other, I'm hoping both of us will get the welcome aboard gifts...
  19. My wife and I are D+, and we each booked a cabin to share with friends who are D. Will both cabins receive full D+ C and A amenities?
  20. Ship - Radiance of the Seas Deck - 10 Stateroom # - 1092 Stateroom Category – Jnr Suite Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No, quite noisy as it's located under the kitchen, so you hear rolling carts both day and night. They sound like jets flying over. If you are a light sleeper, this isn't the cabin for you. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Overhang from Izumi's, but otherwise unobstructed. Balcony Size? Good size, normal for Jr Suite Was wind a problem? - No. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - not applicable Any specific problems with this cabin? - Both the bathroom door and the closet doors were loose, and opened if not closed and latched. Posed a hazard if someone was coming into the cabin. Any other comments? - The location of many of these Jr Suites on Radiance class isn't optimal.
  21. Have done the same and it works well. Just booked my annual offer today.
  22. Mine showed up yesterday and I booked it today. Used it on an existing 7 night reservation I had booked over a month ago specifically for the offer. Had the same list of exclusions that was posted above. Our reservation was on the Anthem out of Southampton in August.
  23. I had been told around the 15th, but I'm not aware if that's been published anywhere. I'm checking daily...
