  1. I did that ate excursion a couple of years ago, it was a blast and well worth it, the poor old guide had trouble stopping us from racing each other....it was like herding kittens...
  2. the visitor centre in is the centre of Paihia opposite the wharf where the ferries cross to Russell
  3. yes, no problem you can bring on flowers, certainly on Cunard you can anyway, done it several times.
  4. I think that there may be a lot of factors at play here that you are not party to that could be affecting their decision to not call at Dubai so stating that Dubai is a perfectly safe port to call at does not take those factors into consideration.Under the circumstances its unfortunate that the world isn't playing ball with your desire to have a holiday but there are larger things at stake here. Im sorry you have not had a good experience but I would rather that the ship and all of her passengers were kept safe and I am sure that the safety of the passengers is paramount on making their decision.
  5. the options this year for an over night were eye watering in their prices, and there were only two overnights offered.... I managed to put a package together in conjunction with my travel agent and we came up with a two night three day overnight including airfares to catch the ship up in Capetown from Port E and a very similar package that saved several thousand dollars on what Cunard were offering. since then several others have asked to join us but sadly now all of the really good reserves are booked out for overnights as its too close to the dates......
  6. Exactly!! You know who you are … you over there in the corner trying to look inconspicuous
  7. don't apologise the forum is here to answer any questions, as they say...theres no such things as a silly question.....just a sarcastic answer (which is not acceptable)
  8. Paperless or not, i refered to the diamond perk of a free lunch or discount against a dinner meal at the verandah.
  9. at least the diamond coupon helps, ill have to do a test and compare the two products,....ill let you know...
  10. Its been slow progress she normally goes through a lot faster than this
  11. thats great because the Rum Baba is the main reason I go to the verandah....you just saved me $50.... thanks....
  12. just waiting fro her now to pass the Miguel lock....shes just lining up now....
  13. oh it was awful and because some kiwi had been in it before me I continually had people bothering me knocking on the door looking for the party and some of these people were officers!
  14. it would depend on whether Princess is full or not and there is availability. It might be only available as an occasional thing not a constant dining situation. The courtyard is open to both classes though and a compromise could be lunch on the courtyard?
  15. yes, easy walk, slthough, short as it is you will be guarranteed to work up a sweat.
  16. neither can i...problem is word is out....
  17. I had 5002 during the covid trip of 2020, I blogged here http://butarewethereyet.blogspot.com/2020/03/our-visit-to-port-everglades-that-wasnt.html with some pictures and subsequently on the preceding blogs about the parties I had in it. It was terrific and all my other friends in Princess were extremely jealous when comparing it to their own, so please don't tell anyone else about it. It has since been unavailable and is becoming too popular.. I didn't find a single con against the suite, I loved the fact that you could hear the thrusters in and out of port and also that you had a little more motion. The forward facing window was terrific and once I turned the lights out in the cabin at night I would open the curtains so that more often than not the sun would stream in early in the morning for a natural wakeup call. \ Best suite on the ship.....
  18. If you are really desperate...I will be doing one from Auckland, http://exitviathegiftshop.blogspot.com
  19. less of the Kava I would suggest .. but you are right about RLS, our last 2 visits there were scarpered by cyclones which unfortunately is a common occurrence in this part of the world at this time of the year.
  20. I think you mean Pago Pago....
  21. with all due respect saltycroc and not to downplay the situation - the is only a recommendation and a lot can still happen in the next few weeks. Rather than panic passengers it's probably better to wait and hear from Cunard and/or see what happens in the next month or so. It doesn't look too good but I wouldn't cancel plans just yet..
  22. He did have an interesting life. if someone wanted to you can also walk up the hill behind the house to his grave....I haven't done the walk but it would be a choice next time Im in Samoa...(as long as it wasn't a Sunday)
  23. keeping well out of it!!!!! although, I have to say, a recent trip to Milan showed me that a lot of Italian men are sporting rolled suit trousers past their ankles and shoes without visible socks. (the trick being there is an ankle sock you can wear that doesn't show and therefore....no aroma'd feet) Mind you only the Italians can wear fashion like this.....anyone else....sorry we don't have the genes to carry it off......
  24. Here are a couple of articles I wrote about day trips in Samoa, https://roscoesseafever.blogspot.com/2017/04/i-travel-not-to-go-anywhere-apia-samoa.html I can thoroughly recommend getting your own taxi and driving up to his house, then the falls and then visiting the Bahai temple on the way back down towards the town, https://roscoesseafever.blogspot.com/2019/03/tonga-malo-e-lelei.html and also if you wanted to just relax and have a walk and then a relaxing drink at Aggies and perhaps a swim,, Not sure if you will be in Samoa on a Sunday but recently ships are now not allowed to call there on a Sunday as a new government edict states that it is illegal for them to work that day and not even the providers or docksiders are allowed to service ships.
