  1. What I love about cruising is I DONā€™T have to pack light! šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ We are doing Scandinavia and expect a wide range of temperatures, so needing pants as well as shorts for touring, nice tops for dinners, sweaters and ponchos and layers, oh my.

    Swag?

We are in a PH (leaving in 48 hours, yay!) and Iā€™m wondering what sort of swag we might get and thus not have to bring from home. Refillable water bottles? Tote bags? Also read somewhere thereā€™s a bunch of free alcohol that fines with the roomā€¦Iā€™m supposed to be a teetotaler for another 3 months due to a medical procedure and have no need for alcohol (though I miss it a lot!) and my SO declines in solidarity with me. Any chance they let us turn that in for OBC? The champagne kills me most of all, because I love it and itā€™s a huge No-No for me now. Sigh. Anything else I should know before we depart for our pre-cruise London visit? Thanks all.
  3. You all have been so gracious and helpful, thanks SOOO much! I will surely look into all the suggestions as we start to consider next year. Wish I had the forethought and freedom to plan 2 years out!
  4. Thanks, I just replied to your O post about mahj! Iā€™m Sue, hope we meet next week.šŸ˜‰
  5. Hello, doing some preliminary legwork. Typically we cruise mainly for ports and donā€™t have loyalty to any line thus far (weā€™ve sailed on Windstar, Azamara and Oceania). We have never done a large ship like Celebrity and are hesitant in large part because of crowds. We like an itinerary on the Infinity in September 2024 (week after Labor so not expecting tons of families onboard as school will have just started). I would like to know what distinguishes Celebrity and Infinity. Would likely do Aqua level as we are accustomed to larger cabins and mostly adult only ships. Whatā€™s the advantage of Aqua vs concierge? How bad are lines for meals, bars, activities, etc with Aqua? What do you like and dislike most about Celebrity? How would you advise your best friend? Thanks!
  6. Hmm, I thought I saw a photo of a tub on Marinaā€¦alas, Calgon obviously will not take me away.
  7. Canā€™t figure out how to edit original postā€¦.can someone tell me if a magnifying mirror is available or should I bring one along? The eyebrows donā€™t tweeze themselves! Thanks.
  8. I no longer color my hair so am fairly ambivalent now about my products. Facial cleanser etc is a totally different matter!
  9. Iā€™ve never had a butler but as a literary fan, am dying to ask, at least once, for someone to draw me a bath.šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
  10. Hi all. We are possibly interested in a vista cruise in 2024 and Iā€™m wondering if someone can explain how the booking of a future cruise works while onboard. Are the savings of doing so significant? Do they give you extra perks, OBC, that sort of thing? What if thereā€™s a sale in the future (cabin upgrades or something else), are you able to take advantage of those? When you book onboard for a year or more out, do you buy trip insurance immediately (for preexisting condition coverages)? Do you get any sort of priority for anything? Can you make the booking any time while onboard or do you have to do it the last day or so? Obviously weā€™ve never done it and we do like to check out different lines on our limited cruising time/budget but IF itā€™s worthwhile weā€™d consider it. TIA for your advice.
  11. Thanks. Is the perk (OBC?) decent? Howā€™s the stock doing šŸ¤£? I could see mentioning to my broker that I want 100 shares to get a drop of a benefitšŸ˜‚

    Gym?

Danke (hope I spelled that right!)šŸ˜‰
  13. Can anyone expound on this shareholder perk? Must you own minimum number of shares to qualify? Presumably a brokerage statement showing youā€™ve purchased the shares suffices since there are no stock certificates anymore. Wonder if a mutual find owning some shares would count?
  14. Iā€™m registered for one later this month on Marina but donā€™t think we exit the ship for it.
  15. This is disturbing. We are in a PH so thatā€™s not the issue, but sheesh, itā€™s a bad look! Sorry you dealt with thatā€¦I will indeed pack an emergency stash to go in the checked luggage. Thanks for your reply.
  16. Hello, getting psyched for our 6/21 sailing on Marina! What can you tell me about the Bvlgari products in the bathrooms? Iā€™m hoping not to have to bring my own shampoo & conditioner, body wash and body lotions but Iā€™m a peasant and not familiar with the Bvlgari line. Scent? Creamy vs oily? Etc. I do presume they replenish regularly. Thanks!

    Gym?

Thank you. I didnā€™t think Iā€™d find anything on TikTokšŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ˜‰

    Gym?

Can anyone give me some insight about the gym on Marina? What machines/circuit options exist, etc? Not too interested in classes, but sometimes I need an hour on the elliptical!
  19. Anyone know if you can use your one login to make a hotspot and then both able to use internet from that hotspot? Is it easier in port than while sailing?
  20. So designer jeans START at $100 and often have premade rips/holes for fashion purposes, but some here would say theyā€™re not nice enough for dining. Khakiā€™s and chino type pants can be had $25 at Kohlā€™sā€¦and they look it imo. My ā€œsandalsā€ are $85 for the support they give me and Iā€™m not getting uncomfortable cheap closed-toe shoes just for my dining room visits. I feel like itā€™s all in the eyes of the beholder. Jeans arenā€™t necessarily sloppy or dirty. I suspect age and/or location play a role in what one considers appropriate.
  21. Fwiw, I wasnā€™t able to get any financial break as my room category wasnā€™t covered.šŸ™
  22. Our Marina cruise in June will be our first on O. Our first cruise was on Disney (Magic maybe?) in 2008 with my husbands entire familyā€¦it was fine. The younger kids enjoyed, the younger teens not so much. A little too rigid with the dining (for me) and too much in-law interaction. We decided to try for a moving hotel experience after a 3 week trip to Italy with a lot of land moves. Ended up on Windstar from Lisbon to Barcelona in 2016 all suite, very small ship, met some nice people. It was fine. Not great weather for all the ship recreational water sports they tout. No kids! Did Alaska on Azamara Quest in 19 with 4 day land portion first. Had the most amazing trip. Upgraded our cocktails and really connected with the fellow passengers on our land piece. Small shower. We donā€™t want to be with other peopleā€™s kids. We donā€™t want to wait in lines. We donā€™t need 24/7 entertainment options. We wanted to end in Norway for this trip so while Iā€™m not wild about the itinerary, it suits our needs. I hope we love it as much as many of you do. I just donā€™t see us ever getting enough cruises to benefit from the various loyalty programs, so we shall see. My husband isnā€™t a beach guy. He doesnā€™t want to go someplace twice if he can avoid it. So I keep throwing out ideas and hope something sticks! Nice thread!
  23. We got a PH with an upgrade 2 levels promo last year. Our itinerary is on the listā€¦will we have a chance of $$ savings or is our level too high to benefit. Hubs not a big cruiser so we do fewer trips but bigger spaces/more perks. Allegedly. Our first O. Thanks.
  24. Oops, I swear I read invitation onlyšŸ˜‰
