  1. We also have used Flight Ease.. We have never had a problem and were able to book our preferred seats quite early. We plan on using them again on our next cruise.Right now we are looking at a vacation in the Northeast this summer visiting family and the airline has changed our flights pretty much daily. I think they want us to cancel but we have points we need to use and then will never fly this airline again.I wish I could use Flight Ease for this trip even though I am not going on a cruise.!
  2. We were there recently and it was crowded but an employee stepped in and took half of the line to another area for check in...all we need was a flag and the order to stay together and we could have passed as a tour group...you will be fine.
  3. This is one of our favorite cruises. We were at the Wyndhamboth times. Its so easy to just walk across the street plus you can spot when the line starts to diminish and go then.
  4. seagarsmoker, How wonderful ! Now you can relax and enjoy your weekend !
  5. We were on the Konigsdam last year and the Super Bowl was shown on the large screen at the pool.
  6. I am looking forward to reading about your travels. It will help pass the time until I am on a ship again.
  7. Everyone stay safe and have a Happy new Years Eve, I would miss each and every one of you !
  8. To all on Cruise Critic, Have a wonderful Christmas....Your's is the first I read every morning. You restore my faith in the presence of kindness, courtesy and care for others, both known and unknown.
  9. I'm having a case of cruise envy just looking at your photos ! Have a wonderful time.
  10. cunnorl, What a wonderful Christmas gift ! She is beautiful. Now she just has to learn to slow down ......
  11. Seagarsmoker, I will keep you in my thoughts today. Knock that interview right out of the park !
  12. I also hate the ad with the shrieking woman yelling about Medicare. It stereotypes older women .Not many of us dress this way or yell like banshee's. But then again I also dislike Joe Namath's ad too.
  13. You were all in my Thanksgiving list today. I so welcome your remarks, your courtesy, your helpfulness. This website should be mandatory reading for all students. Probably for many adults too. How to converse with out being snarky or rude or dependent on impolite language. (That really dates me I know )Keep up the good work everyone !
  14. New staff are being trained, plus ships, similar to people, get older but still travel. I have been on several trips since covid ended.Gradually things are falling into place. The library is back, and soon hopefully, we will have something similar to Lincoln on the music walk. For me, any day is a blessing when I think of those we have lost over the last years...
  15. Have a wonderful time ! I am so envious of you but glad that you will be keeping us informed.
  16. This is fascinating to read. Living in the middle of the country with no passenger trains, I am amazed at this....I would love to take an overnight train trip. Keep writing !
  17. My husband just reminded me that he was told there was distilled water in the gym. We never followed through on that because it was so late in the cruise .
  18. We ordered distilled water for our last cruise on the Konigsdam, just last month. When we came aboard there was a note saying none was available. We had preordered several weeks in advance. My husband ended up using the ships water for the duration of the cruise with no problems.
  19. Sitting in a deck chair and having a steward ask if I were warm enough . Did I need a blanket or a warm beverage. Miss those chairs.
  20. We are packing now ! So much to look forward to and finally matching names with faces ! Thank you to all who have volunteered to lead groups and especially to Jacqui for all her time and trouble. I have read books for the book clubs, banned and unbanned. My husband enjoys pickle ball but I tend to avoid anything that is whacked at my face or body.We arrive on Thursday morning so we may see some of you before the Sail Away.
  21. Reading all your posts helps me to start my day in a much better frame of mind. Thank you so much for sharing thoughts, recipes and photos. Know how much you are appreciated !
  22. We were on a transatlantic cruise. One young mother traveling to meet her husband had a toddler about 2 or 3. Everyone, from passengers to crew, were thrilled. Within 24 hours everyone knew the childs name, and would talk to her when ever they saw her. The crew were wonderful and went out of their way to help the mother. I think everything will be fine. My children cruised with me. I would plan a scavenger hunt as a back up, for the "boring days". You can go to the ships description and see what pictures, sculptures etc they have plus where the ice cream and snacks are located and use life boat numbers to find....break into teams and have a time frame. It can be a lot of fun.
  23. I second all the above but I enjoy talking to the other passengers. So many are well traveled and very articulate. I am so very lucky to be able to travel with such a diverse, gracious group of people.
