It must be unexpired for her to travel. They will not allow her to board as anyone with a F-1 visa must show the applicable paperwork. As posted above check with CPB/immigration as they may give her an extension.

I would ask on the ship. There is a port shuttle that moves both staff and passengers to different terminals from the parking garages and lots.. If not, the only other option is a taxi. Royal and Celebrity share Terminals 18 & 29 and they are fairly far apart from each other so walking is really not doable.

Are you asking about the one on 17th St? If so yes I have when my a/c went out.... It is perfect for a one night stay within walking distance to a large strip mall with Publix, Total Wine, and several places to eat and right around the corner from one of the entrances to the port. Very convenient!

Global Entry and Mobile Passport are two different things.
Global Entry is an application process with a thorough background check and in person interview and has a non refundable fee of $100. Global Entry is a program of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection service that allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers to receive expedited clearance upon arrival into the United States Check the CBP website for information.
Mobile Passport is the first Smartphone app authorized to expedite a traveler's entry process into the United States. This free APP, available for Android and iOS phones, will allow you to submit your passport and customs declaration via your smartphone or other mobile device instead of using the traditional paper method. I will add that at Port Everglades, they customs officers will want to see your passport book as well.

The only one I know of is cruise connection.

There is a Sleep Inn in Dania Beach, close to the airport and Port Everglades. Within walking distance to two strip malls (Publix & Walmart) and a Walgreens.

Yikes! Haven’t sailed Celebrity in over ten years. I just usually take a taxi from hotel to Ft Lauderdale pier and ship. Are you reporting that I might get shuttled to Miami? That I have to go to some sort of Convention Center and then get on a shuttle? You have me spooked! Sailing Jan. 26 on the Silhouette from FT Lauderdale. Hoping for clearer explanation ( and reassurance...). Grateful for and help you can give.
Don't be spooked.....Your sailing on January 26 ( only 2 ships in port that day) will go as normal from Ft. Lauderdale. The convention center was a one time deal and the sailings from Miami passengers were notified on the change.

What? I'm on Sillo next week. Has something changed for Ft Laud boarding? I've always just dropped bags, gone inside to check in, then walked on the ship.
You will be fine for your sailing next week.
There were 8 ships in Port Everglades today with over 25000 passengers both debarking and embarking! Celebrity's terminal is under construction to support the new Edge. They had to use the convention center as their temporary terminal for today only and passengers were shuttled to and from the ship. Some sailings will debark and embark in Miami.

See if you can get the luggage valet. If not maybe head down to Margaritaville or the Hard Rock Hollywood..... Or there are some hotels that will do day rooms especially on a Sunday. Riverside Hotel on Las Olas has a lovely pool area and also there are several restaurants, bars, art galleries and boutiques up and down the boulevard.

Go to the Broward.org website for FLL airport. It lists all the places to eat, drink and shop pre and post security. I have two friends who work in the international terminal. One at Chili's and the other at Golden Bear Grill, both pretty decent places to eat! The airport is 2.5 miles from Port Everglades. Do NOT take a transfer as someone above suggested as you have to wait for the bus to fill up. There are plenty of cabs/uber to take you to the port and or local hotel and vice versa post cruise....

Don’t know if you will want to go to Chankanaab from Cozumel, with two kids in tow. The trip is a bus over to the Ferry, and then a ferry to the mainland, and a long bus ride over to the Ruins. The ferry at times can be quite rough depending on the weather. The busses are modern luxury coaches, quite comfortable.
Most excursions from the cruise line (and independent) will have modern equipment, and will normally be quite safe. If you do independent, make sure the tour company has a good rating. Check the ports boards fr recommendations

Chanknaab National Park is ON Cozumel and a short cab ride from the port. You are thinking about the ruins on the mainland where you need to the ferry.

For Global Entry make sure you have your card in hand and you will be directed to the proper line. For Mobile passport, have your hard copy easily accessible as some CBP agents do not have the machines.

I work at the port. Sometime in December the Allure will be using the same system as the Harmony where you get sea pass cards at your stateroom. When you arrive at the terminal you go thru security and then directed to the check in area. Once at the counter you hand over your printed out set sail pass, passport and registered credit card and fill out the health questionnaire. If your picture did not upload properly the will take a quick snap, stamp your set sail pass and you will be on your way!! Doors open to check in at 10.... Boarding starts around 11 and staterooms are ready between 1 and 1:30....

Try the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Blvd.. They have a very nice pool area. There are art galleries, boutiques and many good restaurants up and down the Blvd.

It is doable if you are docking in Port Everglades, just make sure you do self assist. But I would not risk it coming up from Miami.

I'll post some random pics now for you then [emoji3]
The pizza I just ate

There are two shuttle services that are pretty good and not that expensive. SAS and Jiffy Jeff...... I would also check with Carnival to see if they provide that kid of service.....

Thanks everyone for your responses. I am really looking forward to going.....Happy Holidays!!

This is my first premier cruise that I have been able to go on. Would love to have an idea of the events..... especially the welcome aboard cocktail party and approximate time. I would like to go to the steakhouse on the first night.
TIA

Last cruise was my first time sailing from Miami (I'd sailed into Miami a couple of times on repos) and I was not impressed.
Granted, when you have Premier sailings and have all those people getting priority boarding along with all the Diamond/Platinum and VIFP, it's going to be hectic.
I'll see what it's like boarding in FLL in a couple of weeks on HAL. I'm a lowly 1 Star cruiser so no priority for me this time! ;)
And, I thought my Splendor cruise last month was not great. Nothing I could really put my finger on, but the vibe just wasn't the same. With all the workers having so much more on their various plates (stewards and waitstaff certainly do), I'm not surprised. They still do a great job, imo, but they're stretched very thin. That's the price of us having such cheap fares.
Thanks all for the info... I think at this point it will be up to my cabin mate to see what itinerary she prefers as she does not sail as much as I do and I have been to all of the ports many times.....
As far as your HAL cruise... Personally I love them!! It is a lot more laid back, yes there are older grumpy folks but I always managed to have fun. Word to the wise, don't get to the port too early, again the grumpy folks and use the entrance on 17th Street opposed to the main gate. It is MUCH quicker to get in..... Have your cruise docs and ID ready as that is your first security check..

I have been getting these offers for quite some time, but have not taken advantage till now. It is now between the two ships above. pro's cons would be appreciated. I live less than a mile from Port Everglades so really getting to either port is not an issue..... TIA
Also does anyone know what is the difference between rate code PC3 & PC5?

I recently saw a bar list for the UBP, but am wondering about the open bar on the Sky. Gonna do a girls birthday cruise and need to find out if specific beer and drinks are included. Thanks for your help!!
Hotel Day Room in Ft. Lauderdale?

I second that. The Riverside Hotel is right downtown Ft. Lauderdale on Las Olas Blvd. Many places to eat, shop and just stroll..... They have a lovely pool area as well.
