So I was able to get some info on the program. I think it is great for those that have late flights..... You learn something new everyday.
You will have to get off the ship with your luggage and go thru customs , and then drop your luggage at the suite luggage entrance and meet the shorex staff and wait in the general boarding area till 0 count. You board back with your original sea pass card before general boarding commences....You need to be off the ship 90 minutes before the next sailing. You will then collect your luggage. This is only for Celebrity Terminal 25.

Port Everglades will be offering this by next April at the latest for Celebrity according to LB’s post.
Maybe for Celebrity but not for Royal..... I will check with my Celebrity contact as well as CBP. Not sure how this will work as they want 0 count onboard before we can even board the back to backs....
-
I work at Port Everglades and we do not have this program. In looking at the Royal FAQ's it is only offered in select European ports.
-
You will be fine answering no. CBP is more concerned with those overstaying B1/B2 Visa's.
-
It is simply not acceptable nor is it right to ask for an exception. Your non-FTTF cabin will be sent to a separate seating area to wait for boarding. You could wait and board with them.

Mariner of the Seas out of Port Canaveral.
I am further south at Port Everglades...Don't stress about this... Just leave it as it is and bring the passport, ARC and his driver's license. His passport will be stamped with the ARC notation. They have an amazing documentation person in Port Canaveral that handles the Royal ships up there....Have a great cruise!!

mscinmia- Do you have person experience with this? Reason I ask is that I called Crown and Anchor Society and the person there said to input his passport. I realize he will still need his green card to re-enter the US, but they said entering the passport was the way to go. Hopefully they are right. But if you have personal experience with this, I would appreciate your response. To be safe I am having him bring his passport, ARC, and DL showing his US address. If it weren't the fact that his passport has the two last names and his other two IDs don't, I don't think it would matter much. Thanks.
Yes, I do have experience with this. I work at a port and handle this on a daily basis. What ship are you sailing?

Passport trumps all other ID and is valid everywhere. I can not see where they would ask for the resident alien card. You can be from anywhere to take a cruise?
If cruising form any US port he MUST use the ARC card unless it is a one way TA or full transit Panama Canal cruise. The US does not recognize dual citizenship and once you have an ARC you are considered part of the US.

Thanks for the replies. I did that and his name is updated. What I failed to mention is that he is a legal alien and so has an alien residence card. Should I put his passport in the check in or his alien residence card (Royal has either as an option). And the kicker is his alien residence card doesn't have the second last name. So now his set sail pass matches his passport but not his alien residence card. Color me confused. I think I just have to put in one and have him bring both documents.
Since he has a ARC, input that information as that is what he will be checked in with. Although his passport can not be used to check in, bring it anyway to show the 2nd last name.....

Both Host Clarea and mscinmia absolutely nailed it, I was able to look on that link today before boarding our flight and the Indie is indeed porting at terminal 18 after her European run. The Adventurer of the Seas is also in port this Sat and she's over in 29, so I appreciate knowing just where our RCCL ship is pulling in :0) Thank you both!
I will see you Saturday!! Just stop by the Pier Coordinator's desk and say hi!!

I've used my EDL for cruising which is similar to the passport card and serves the same purpose, no BC required.
You are in one of the 5 states that has the EDL....
So many states are confusing that with the new REAL ID which you still have to bring a birth certificate.

I am pretty sure that the Indy will be arriving at T-18. The porters normally start taking luggage around 9:00-9:30 and the doors to the terminal will open around 9:30. There are limited benches out side the terminal, but once inside there is plenty of seating. As this ship is coming from Europe, there will be a longer than usual debark as both the passengers and the crew will have to go thru customs and the ship might even have an USCG inspection, which will mean a later embarkation. Pack your patience if you are coming early as you may be sitting for awhile. There is a Alamo rental car location right out side the main entrance to the port and they do have a shuttle..... You might just be better off dropping the car first as the shuttle driver will help you with the luggage.
-
The reason they told you to adhere to your time is that they are having a US Coast Guard inspection which will definitely impact the boarding time. My guess is that they will be at least an hour or two beyond the normal boarding time. Terminal 26 has very limited seating so you may be standing outside.

Royal does have shuttles that go from PEV to POM. You can arrange this pre-cruise and also on the ship.
-
They are not using the Mobile Passport APP in Port Everglades as they do not have the machines. BUT even better they have facial recognition which makes it go even faster. You must have a passport for this to work.
Since you are flying out of Palm Beach, definitely do the self walk off and that normally starts around 7.

Dani you can do that, you will need to prearrange this and you need to find your own transportation back. However there are a few where you can sail to the Bahamas, stay a few days and then head back. Two are basically ferries, and the other is an older cruise ship. One is out of Miami ( goes only to Bimini), one out of Ft. Lauderdale and the other Palm Beach.

If the ship is sailing at 4 :00 the doors to the terminal will be closed at 3:30. Once those doors are closed you will not be allowed to embark. It is best to get there at least by 3:00.
-
Go up to the Solarium or the Park Cafe. Much less crowded. Also we open the doors to check in at 9:30 and boarding generally starts around 10:30.....
-
The normally start boarding around 11:00. Depends on how quickly the previous cruise cleared customs... As far as parking, right now the ship is at T26 and directly across the street is the midport paring garage. $15.00 per 24 hours.... You can drop off your luggage first if you prefer. Edited to add that if the Terminal changes to T4 there is also a brand new parking garage being built for the terminal.
-
Royal/Celebrity at most of the terminals in PEV now has facial recognition which really speeds up the debark. If you have a passport and have not over purchased, do self assist and you will be off fairly quickly.
-
Lyncoya- There is a very large FB rollcall group going on the same cruise. Many single and solo passengers.....If you like my roommates (2) and myself could join you. See you on board!!

How does having the edocs help in that case? There is nothing in them they need at checkin to my knowledge.
Yup no need for the edocs. Even if the computers are down, they can still check you in offline. Set sail pass is good enough.

There is also a Walgreens with a liquor store on Stirling & Federal Hwy. And a CVS on the corner of 17th St and Federal Hwy.
Both the Publix and Total Wine in the Harbor Shops are in the neighborhood called Harbordale. There is also a Crown Liquor and Winn Dixie on the other side Cordova and 17th St.

Are you sailing the 15th or returning the 15th? There will be 7 ships in port on the 15th and 8 on the 22nd..... This is going to be a VERY busy port for debark. If you want a chance to make that flight you should definitely self debark and be one of the first off the ship. Hopefully you have a passport and will be able to use the facial recognition.
