  1. I would be happy to bring a water bottle from home and refill it, but is there self serve refilling anywhere? I drink a lot of water and the idea of having to go to a bartender every time is stressful. Did someone say that one can ‘check’ a case of waters as luggage?
  2. Are jeans ok? one of dh’s go-to date night outfits is nice, dark wash jeans and a dressy shirt with nice belt and shoes. Yea or nay? He doesn’t really like ‘khakis, and he has tp wear dress pants to work everyday, so they don’t feel like a night out to him.
  3. I don’t know yet, but I am celiac and am sailing in March. Hopefully I can report back after that. I wanted to say “Good Luck to your son!” I am hoping he heals well physically and copes well emotionally. A celiac diagnosis is a rough road to walk, but it does eventually get easier.
  4. I am getting X Sale emails about upgrading drinks, but no actual info without calling. We have the flu, and my brain needs some advance processing time before a decision right now. Has anyone called in and discovered the upgrade price per day? Is it worth pre-cruise purchase vs on board? Thank you
  5. Celiac here, sailing X first time in March 😬. When one pre-orders the night before, does the food come out hot? i’m a bit worried that they prepare it much beforehand and let it sit for a long time? If i plan to order something already gf anyway, like a steak and mashed potatoes, should I still pre-order? Thanks in advance.
  6. Do they have wine or champagne in the martini bar too? I can’t drink ‘hard liquor ’, but we love a great ambiance.
  7. Yikes! More and more of these complaints. Are these Beyond staterooms securely attached?
  8. The Escape room sounds fun. How does one sign up? Is it booked in advance?
  9. Mom of three boys 24, 22 and 15 and former middle school teacher here. Do your kids actually like surprises? Maybe, but think about it as you make this decision. Little kids like surprises. Kids in this tween/ teen age range generally prefer to know the plan and acclimate to it. It helps them feel a sense of control and confidence. My unsolicited advice is not to keep it a secret very long into the first cruise. My reason for saying this is that for boys that age, once they start anticipating the end of the first cruise, they may be looking forward to getting back home, back to their friends, back to their video games (sadly.) In that case, hearing that they are not going home at the last minute might lead to disappointment instead of excitement. (Which is not going to make you feel good either.) It won’t be that they’re “spoiled”, but that they are operating under the plan that you told them. i would choose a moment early in the first cruise, when things are going GREAT, and tell them, “Guess what? Another week!” That way you get to surprise them, but they have time to adjust to the “new” plan and get excited about it. Then during the first week, you can enjoy moments of “others have to go home, but we don’t/ that’s too crowded today, let’s put it on our list for next week/ let’s make a list of Must Repeats” etc. Any kids I know in the age range of yours would much prefer this kind of situation. Maybe I overstepped, but… Have a great time either way!
  10. Thanks! Feel free to let us know what else you enjoyed.
  11. I would have been excited about Turks and Caicos too. Glad you have a great (and flexible) attitude. Have a great time!
  12. I wonder what the deal is with Puerto Plata. I read on another thread that it is changing too. What would be the reason for that? Also, where do you check your cruise to see if ports are changing?
  13. So anyone can walk along the corridor picking up other people’s room keys/ charging cards?
  14. Can you use the apple watch to unlock the door? Or anything else convenient ship-wise? I have one that I do not ever wear, but it might be worth bringing if i could leave my phone in the room.
  15. Thanks. I was hoping that since they put the option to upgrade to premium wifi online that the option for drinks might pop up. There’s always hope
  16. Where is the best place to read excursion reviews? Or I am allowed to ask here on main board about certain itineraries? i rarely see discussion of excursions. TIA
  17. If anyone finds a way to upgrade to premium drinks from AI purchased Classic, pleasse let us know
  18. What is the significance of the wine question in the decision? Wondering bc I only drink wine as opposed to hard liquor or cocktails.
  19. Anyone have experience using it on Beyond? Did you like it as much as expected/ use it often? The loungers looks lovely but most of the rooms look very uncomfortable with the hard edges of stone. I at first booked AQ, then jumped to a SV, so lost the week pass. I usually love a spa for relax time, but I feel like on the ship in Spring, i might prefer being in the sun or exploring.
  20. Yesterday, same day as OP, I paid my balance due online. After I entered my Credit card number, I got the Celebrity Crest Spinning Wheel of Exasperation. I waited, thinking since it was a large amount, that they were waiting for it to process. Waited and waited. Some little voice in my head told me NOT to close it and resubmit payment. I had time to go to my cc website and see that the payment was pending. Still spinning, I checked my email to see that Payment had been confirmed. I was glad I had not closed it and repaid, since it had gone through, and I would have paid twice like the poster above.
  21. Thanks! How have the seas been? How much motion do you feel?still a bit worried about motion sickness…
  22. Years ago, in a suite on the Disney Wonder, we had very similar noise the whole cruise. To me, it sounded like creaking. In that suite, everything is a beautiful wood surface, and we thought that was the issue. I don’t know. We did not complain, but were surprised.
