  1. The self service laundry is free and powder is provided.
  2. The presence of dance instructors possibly depends on the length of the cruise and number of sea days.
  3. If you feel you want to reward all of the hardworking staff, leave a donation to the crew fund. The reception staff will be happy to help.
  4. My Saga, to my knowledge, has never shown all the cruises taken. Usually just upcoming ones and very recently completed ones.
  5. I cannot see anything like the Courtyard on Queen Anne, but am happy to be proved wrong.
  6. We've cruised 67 nights in the last 11 months and NEVER been told we have to vacate our table within an hour of being seated. In fact, we have never been given any directive about when we should vacate our table however full the cruise is.
  7. We always have a fixed table, you need to be seated by 7pm but usually leeway until 7:15. There are certainly no rules about vacating by 7:30, it would be a very uncomfortable meal to consume 3 courses plus coffee in 1 hour 😅
  8. Our original cruise was for 2024, we swapped for one in 2023 🙂
  9. I'm pretty sure that the answer is yes. On our previous cruise we swapped a 7 night to a 14 night with no penalty. Your best course of action is to ring Saga. 🙂
  10. Only SofA has the Deluxe cabins with a bath and shower over.
  11. If you haven’t booked yet and have a friend who is a Britannia club member, they could recommend you and you will both get an extra 10% discount 🙂
  12. This photo gives you an idea of the depth of the ‘fridge’
  13. Saga and Viking similar in many respects, but like you we don’t want to fly at the moment. We prefer the Viking ships design, especially the Winter Garden and Explorers lounge. Staff on both ships are a delight. The cabins are very similar. Love the heated bathroom floor on Viking and hate the so-called fridges in the standard Saga cabins 😅
  14. Our pre Christmas cruise itinerary was altered to enable an attempt to replace the blade in Cadiz. The blade was delivered whilst we were at breakfast and sat on the quayside whilst divers attempted to remove the damaged blade. Unfortunately they couldn’t loosen the bolts, hence the dry dock.
  15. Thanks for your answers. Were the Christmas lights turned on in Madeira? They are gorgeous, a pity you weren’t staying late. Looking forward to hearing about the entertainment, we haven’t sailed on QV since December 2019.
  16. That boarding time sounds right for QG. Probably a 3hr journey from Stafford, I’d leave around 9am. On boarding go up to the restaurant to check out your table and enjoy your first lunch. We’re in Britannia and our boarding time is 14:45, I’m undecided as whether to turn up around 12:30 and board with our priority pass (Diamond) or actually board nearer our assigned time. Any suggestions or advice?
  17. We’ll be boarding QV on the 11th December. What Covid documentation did you have to show in addition to your NHS vaccination pass?
  18. I was surprised to see that coffee in the Grills Lounge is no longer complimentary.
  19. We did something similar on a B2B Oceania cruise. Last to disembark and was able to re-board almost immediately no sitting in a waiting area, although this was in Miami not NYC.
  20. Holland America used to operate a similar system as I recall.
  21. That's a pity as I don't fancy sitting in the theatre for 45 minutes wearing a mask. I wasn't asking about a recorded version though. Some cruise lines relayed the live performances to the cabin TV, we could grab a drink from the bar and watch the show in the cabin without the need for a mask.
  22. Returning to QV after a 3 year absence. Can you watch the evening shows live on the in-cabin tv?
