How many times has a price drop happened to you? Because I got the impression you were upset because it was your first time. How many times have you purchased a cruise?

So you just want to vent about price drops? Is this the first time it’s happened to you?

I think jeans should not be in the dress code. Definitely not ripped jeans as some posters in the past claimed were ok because they were “designer”. I think jeans are subjective. So Celebrity might allow someone in ripped designer jeans but my relaxed and worn jeans might not be ok? It’s not hard at all to dress up like an adult. People can be an individual on their own time.

I wasn’t joking about ripped “designer” jeans. Are these jeans ok for the dining room?

If Celebrity decided to change the policy and not allow jeans, would you care?

I see with gratuity it’s almost $50 pp. Not sure if I’ll do it again.

Well you could also say that any policy doesn’t matter if the staff doesn’t enforce it.

If they have holes, rips, tears then they are designer jeans. That’s what I learned on CruiseCritic. 😂

Do you want to have a safe space where we just tell everyone how unfair life is? No one, including Celebrity, made the poster pay what they did, when they did.

That only works if you wear the baseball cap backwards. Those how they know you’re a rule breaker. They respect you that way.

Never a second look? You mean from staff or other pax? Because my withering gaze is usually enough to burn a hole in most designer jeans.

I booked some flights recently for a trip in 10 months because I did my homework and found an airline giving great prices. My spouse wanted to wait so we did wait about a month but then decided to go ahead. I have no regrets because other airlines were selling similar flights at $5-7K more total. Sometimes when you see a good price you grab it. Checking prices constantly will just give you a headache.

I wore jeans on a hike to Macchu Picchu, Peru when I was younger. I was dumb. Now I wear hiking pants. Jeans look like jeans. I would not wear any of MY Levi jeans to a nice restaurant. I don’t even wear them to work anymore.

Grandchildren. Can you believe when we were young we wore ripped jeans and called that “fashion”? We know better now. Biggest fashion mistakes are bell bottoms and ripped jeans.

I was asking recently about changing a booking from one category to another. But this thread has taught me to be happy with what I booked and enjoy it. I have never been the person who sees a $100 drop and runs to rebook / reprice the cruise.

This is Cruise Critic. You get to feel however you want. And the rest of us get to share our opinion. That’s how the internet works. Cruising and flying is not like going to a gas station. Wait a minute? Why do I have to pay more for Premium 93 when everyone else gets to pay for Regular 87. Why, I’VE BEEN RIPPED OFF! And to all the internet bosses who say that’s not how it works, why did I have to to pay $3.65 for gas last week when others get to pay $3.50 this week?

What did you like about it? Is there a good variety of restaurants? What about entertainment? I ask these questions not to be rude (as one poster told me I was) but to show interest in your experience. I am happy with Celebrity in Aqua. But I do see that the Sky Suites are expensive. So I am getting prices for other cruise lines. At current prices I think we’re happy in Aqua though we have one more SS booked on Celebrity.

Are you able to share what companies you booked with?

I’ve suggested to Celebrity that they raise their standards so they don’t allow “those people” into the Retreat.

@CruisematicVA I am right there with you. I guess I've found my people on MSC. I'm surprised this site allows a term like "trailer trash" to be used. It's a pretty offensive, elitist term. Some of the people next to you in the Retreat are trailer trash and not ashamed of it. Folks recently told me how egalitarian Regent is and how elitist Celebrity cruisers are. I argued they were wrong, but that was before I read this thread.

I thought I was that person. The balcony person. But my husband only drinks wine so I’d have to finish a bottle in 2 weeks. The drink package is a better deal if you are more social. And gives you the advantage of trying anything at any bar, not just one liquor.

It’s not if you have a drink package. Nicer to find a quiet bar somewhere unless you want to sit on your balcony.
