  1. Oh I did do a mock booking. That’s why I wanted to check prices with the TA again. I’ve done 5-6 cruises and I’ve never had any trouble making changes before. But I’ve never tried to go from suite to something else. I tried a mock booking on the TA site but I’m not getting a specific price for Aqua. I’d have to wait for a quote.
  2. Sure I get it depends on what group and how it is defined. Celebrity gives two choices now. Cruise only and All included. I always thought I could change before final payment.
  3. Yes I sent a quick short email. I find it odd that they could have cheaper pricing for SS than for Aqua. And that their pricing for Aqua is twice the Celebrity price.
  4. That’s what I thought. This TA has been mostly reliable but then I’ve never said before “Maybe I’d like to change my booking.” It’s not the end of the world and the difference won’t break the bank. But it’s money we could save. My husband says “we don’t need a butler and Blu is good enough”. We had a lot of sea days on our South America cruise. That would be a good time to be in the Retreat.
  5. @gold1953 My reason would be not being sure I’m getting the right figures to change my booking. But I am not sure how I can be certain if the TA is giving me the right story. @WrittenOnYourHeart I chose a non refundable deposit which I’ve done several times. So I don’t think I can cancel. If I can save 50% I think we would choose to do it.
  6. A couple months ago I was debating changing a Millie booking from Sky Suite to Aqua. At the time the TA said “I have a group rate and Aqua is more expensive.” I just went back and looked. Has anyone ever heard this? I wonder if I’m getting bad advice. How do you change TA’s on an existing booking? I think the current one has to release it and they have no incentive to do so. I don’t want to switch then have the new TA say the same thing. Currently Aqua is 50% of a Sky Suite. I’m not sure for this cruise that a SS is worth it with only 2-3 sea days.
  7. Thanks. So that's per person yes? So a bit less than $30 a day? You know it makes Aqua seem more like a bargain since it includes the spa. And passes are only sold on board NOT on the website, yes?
  8. When you call people “horrid bitches”, you should expect a response. Have you emailed the executive office?
  9. Comments about the Retreat from Cruise Critic, I like to stay in the Retreat. But I don’t like the sundeck. And I don’t like the restaurant. And the seats in the lounge are uncomfortable so I never go there. And they let all the “other” people into the Retreat. It’s too crowded. And why would I ever use a butler? (I guess they just want a bigger room?)
  10. Do you want me to guess? I found that in an older discussion.
  11. Hey I like you. Do any of the luxury lines sell out to groups? How can one know if Celebrity sells out your cruise to a group before you board?
  12. They have toilet paper in the bathrooms now. Can you be more specific? Maybe tell us what ships you cruised on? And what you liked? Why you are thinking about Celebrity?
  13. I just find it funny that vegetarians want to tell us about eating better but any talk about pesticides or cancer or ingredients is dismissed. I don’t know that it’s all true. You say it won’t hurt if you eat it once in a while. I could say the same thing about meat. You do you.
  14. Do you want to tell us about your experience on board? It seems like you have a story. I expect them to be polite. But they don’t need to give me a fake smile.
  15. Is the price the same for the same number of days? I don’t see it sold online. I think it’s maybe $10 per day per person? We’re in Retreat on Millie and usually are in Aqua. Funny you pay more for Retreat but don’t get spa access.
  16. Don’t you think it would be helpful to be a little more specific?
  17. For us we have never paid more than $15,000 for a cruise in the Retreat. And a lot less for Aqua. For 12 days. It’s hard to justify paying $20K or more on a cruise, even on a luxury line. Even for a bigger cabin. But next time I will compare to all included.
  18. They’re on a cruise ship. Of course it should be PORT. I hear they had ice wine on the Titanic. We all know how that turned out.
  19. OP sorry this happened. Talk to Hotel Director and email President of Celebrity BEFORE you leave. Is Abraham the only person who works at Guest Services? You say your husband is “ok” but you are not. I would not tell the staff that he is “ok”, even though I know what you mean. Good luck.
  20. HAL, few kids? Sounds like heaven! Theoretically speaking, what could one do on HAL if a kid pushed all the elevator buttons? Asking for a friend. 😁
  21. In December, in South America, it was not just open on cold days. It was pretty much every day. It was warm at the start and end of the cruise then colder as we went south. Hey I know it sucks to be a kid and have to be cold but I'm not the one who labeled the Solarium an adults only area. Plus kids were using the hot tubs both at the pool and in the Solarium as "kiddie pools" for much longer than they should have, according to safety rules.
  22. Go ahead and put 20 children in the Solarium pool at the same time. Then tell me about how relaxing it is and how much I can enjoy using the pool.
  23. You know, purely for safety reasons, Celebrity should not host that wine tour event in a part of the ship with uneven flooring. You think they would know better. 🥸
  24. I would tell Celebrity to make family time 24 hours **if** those families were more considerate to others and if the kids were better behaved. Why, last time during family circus time, it took 5 extra minutes for the waiter to bring my champagne because he was dodging unruly ragamuffins! Now get off my lawn.
  25. It’s ok to make a change in policy. It’s also ok to realize when you’ve done something completely idiotic and walk back a new policy. However I can’t think of any policies that the morons at Celebrity have changed then moved back to what it used to be.
