  1. My parents (especially mom) has to have coffee FIRST thing in the morning. We took a thermos with us to supper each night and our waitstaff was more than happy to fill it for them. As long as you take a quality thermos it will still be hot in the morning =) We used a Hydro Flask Thermos.

That's a great idea! I'll be doing this for sure!

  2. I just stayed on deck 10 in central park. I loved the view. I was in room 595, right across from park cafe and above giovannis so it was perfect for people watching. The glass structures don't hinder view at all. I highly recommend deck 10.

Thank you! We are staying directly across from you, so I'm assuming our view will be fine then!

  3. Please be aware that the lowest category interior cabin on Allure is tiny. We had one in 2015 my review was:

    Cabin Q 10279

This cabin is not just smaller than a standard cabin it is missing some of the bells and whistles that normally come with an Allure of the Seas cabin making it very basic. No ipod station, no room service breakfast menu, no Royal Caribbean book (with full room service menu), etc. The wardrobe is half the size of a standard cabin and there is a chair instead of a sofa. Honestly the cabin would be better without the chair because you can't get into the wardrobe without dragging the heavy chair out of the way. There are no drawers except for a very small one in the bathroom, a few cupboards with shelves but no drawers for little bits and pieces. The bed when it is made up as a double is against the wall on one side so I would recommend that if you stay in this cabin you ask for the beds to be separated. This room is adequate but honestly pay the extra and go for a standard size room

    I hope this helps

  4. You could find out from 5 minutes after you book right up until the time you arrive st the pier.

Once assigned you can usually change to any other room available in the EXACT SAME CATEGORY.

It’s a guarantee which is why you can’t pick. And note they may assign you a room that isn’t showing on the websites inventory.

Guarantees are used to control inventory. They can sell cabins at a cheaper rate without opening themselves up to people calling in for price drops.

Bottom line...be prepared to accept the worst cabin in the category that you booked.

    Thank you for your help!

  5. We were on Allure in December, and while I can't speak to the size of the cabins (we had a balcony), I can tell you that I was extremely surprised by how little motion we felt everywhere on the ship! I actually missed falling asleep to feeling the waves, and our cabin was technically mid ship but closer aft. We did spent time all over the ship though, and I didn't feel movement anywhere, not even on sea days.

I wouldn't worry about it being an inside room, that's what we usually have when we cruise, this was just a lucky fluke to have gotten a balcony

Thank you! I hope you had a great time on your cruise!

  6. Hi! I decided to book adjoining cabins on deck 9 forward. Can you feel a lot of motion on this ship and if anyone has stayed in one the forward inside cabins...are they really small or are they the larger interior? I thought they were the larger ones but the rep told me they were just regular. Did I make an ok choice considering we are never planning on being in the cabin? Nervous about interior, but the price worked for our family of 5.

  7. I wonder why they put all the FOV upfront and high (although I think there are a couple on deck 7 aft on some ships). My family of 5 is going on a cruise next year and we booked an FOV bc of the price, and I've been concerned about our location and feeling the motion ever since. I do call frequently to see if the price has changed for 2 cabins in the middle, lower, but I still can't beat the price of a FOV. I hope the Oasis is big enough so that we don't feel too much.

  8. OP, high up and forward, where the FOV is located, is probably the least desirable location on the ship since it's prone to the most movement in rough weather. Perhaps your TA meant a less desirable cabin (like back to a balcony, which has other merits). What is she suggesting as an alternative for the same price or less?

Too funny you should mention that - we were having dinner with cruising friends last night and that incident (which played out live on CC) came up. Just for the record (I had to go back and find the thread because I have no life, lol), the TA wasn't determined to be at fault. Nancy blamed RCI for the mixup - she had a confirmation, too. And I'm glad you enjoyed the GS!:)
