  1. I have found the "filters" to be really confusing. Depending on if you log in, and how you did it, especially with casino offers, you will get very different results. You have to play with it to get the desired result.
  2. I love cruising but he has to realize that with land there are limitless possibilities. The biggest problem we face today is itinerary. How many times can you go to St Thomas????? I don't care to ever go again. That and seasickness, viruses, etc.....So far I have been in a hurricane that is famous with carnival crew, our ship hit an iceberg in alaska tearing a 25 foot hole in it, stranded in port, got a terrible staff infection in the hot tub that took over a year to get rid of, caught some kind of virus many times, got food poisoning, fogged in and various other things. I have stayed on land, much more, but I can't say that I have ever had much of a mishap. At least nothing comes to mind. Its a different animal then land and will always be priced considerably less.
  3. Alot of new employees on the ships right now. Mistakes are made.
  4. We got a letter stating that our upgrade bid is still standing. We leave tomorrow. It says you can get upgraded up to zero hours before. I suppose that means if somebody's plane breaks down!!! I assume if they had space, by this time they would have accepted our bid.
  5. I always get the soda/voom combo package. On my next cruise its $22.99 and the soda alone is $8.99. The internet is $15.99. The way I look at it, is since I must have internet, the soda only really costs me $6.99 that way.
  6. ultra spacious ocean view as well. Huge cabins on some ships. These days its not a ton more to rent 2 rooms with 2 to a room vs 4 in one room.
  7. I called the concierge, pretty much all the good specialty restaurants are full. They sent a request to the ship to acomodate us. We will see. Its tough to schedule dining when you don't know the time of the shows you want to see. With all of this Free at Sea stuff, I guess everybody has specialty dining now so there is not enough capacity.
  8. We are going on the Escape this 12/17/22. We have a family villa room in the haven and party of 5. This is our first time in the Haven. My question is with regard to shows and eating. This is always a problem on cruises. I am told that they will reserve a seat for us at any show, but I assume that is not the case with dining reservations. We are looking at making our dining reservations now, but we don't know the show schedule, and can't seem to find it online. Does anyone have advice????
  9. As biker19 said. When he sets up the account, its in your name.
  10. Has anyone tried a wireless hub wifi router? What does it allow you to get? So in other words, the wifi router is the "device" you are paying for but it splits the wifi to anyone you give the credentials to.
  11. I think the op is saying that while logged into paid wifi you can send an imessage and not get charged for a text. I was charged on my last cruise on royal. I think my provider somehow still knows i sent a text and charged me. AT&T. does anyone know if you can use i voip phone on the wifi or do they block it?
  12. When you mention premier and elites what does that mean? Are certain cruises casinos operated by different outfits or are these junkett providers? Sorry new to the carnival game.
  13. Me and my wife just did. Uploaded my royal status and some land based. We are not big gamblers but know how to work the system. We now both get trememdous offers. We booked a panama canal and hawaii 15 day. Cost $200 with $200 freeplay and dou. So we are taking friends in the other cabin. Honestly its so much less then buying a cruise and if you have to cancel, no biggie.
  14. What is the cancellation policy on a casino rate on carnival?. On royal, if you cancel, its full refund, so that makes a big difference to me.
  15. You can put a $1 chip on the inside on all of the black or red numbers. It will cost you $18 and you will have 36 chips if you win ($18 win) but if you split the zero's with one dollar and it hits, you will have 18 dollars so you will lose a single dollar. the thing I have found about roulette is although that ball has no memory, things run in streaks, good or bad. I have seen everything possible happen. While you are correct on the odds being close to 50/50, that is with a million spins. In one night at a casino doing 50-100 spins, anything can happen. You can easily wind up 75/25 or 25/75. It really sucks when you get 8 or 10 losers in a row which happens all the time if you stick to one color. I try to make the game as random as possible and stay away from numbers that are cold. I do agree that roulette is probably the best way to convert. It also pays higher comps then craps or BJ.
  16. Its too much hassle to remove the gratuity. We get lots of $1 and $5 bills to bring. Plus if we get good service we tip the room and wait staff a decent amount. These people are slave labor and they work so hard for us. I want to hire them for my business!!!!
  17. They have some kind of an inventory problem. This weeks cruise is overbooked as a result. I am sure they pulled it until they grt it sorted
  18. Not worth the cost IMO coco, labadee and falmouth don't tender.
  19. Only the book requires reservations. All the other shows had plenty of room with 4200 pax. Its only because the 270 is small. Its by far the worst show I have ever seen on a cruise ship. And that includes CATS. acrobats and contortionist get an A. Dancers a B. Singers a C. Theater an A. Show gets an F. SHIKA.......SHIKA KAA KAA!!!!!!
  20. Just walk to the one across the street. Its to the left as you leave pier and up the hill. Then have lunch at their restaurant at top of hill. Or hire a driver for the day from the giant crowd of tour operators near taxi’s. There are a bunch of these sloth, monkey farms.
