  1. Hi all! I was going to ask this in the Bermuda forum but figured I'd start here as most of you know NCL ship layouts and piers so well. Considering a May cruise to Bermuda on the Joy. Never have been to Bermuda so we have no clue what the pier setup is. My question is, for those of you who have sailed here... where and why would you choose your balcony state room to be. Port Side, starboard side? Is there a side that has better views, which way looks at the ocean, which looks at the island? Are boats parked directly next to each other like in Cozumel or are they spaced? Any info you can give would be great, ty!!
  2. Hi! Can you use your OBC to buy an internet package? Prima ship. TY!!
  3. Ty Bird!! The rooms look beautiful but not gonna lie, i do wish they kept the counter, mirror space and closed cabinets like on the breakaway class ships.
  4. Hi all! Does anyone know if coffee makers are available in balcony rooms on the Prima and if so are they the typical NCL kind that uses the flat soft disks? Thank you!!
  5. Like Bird, we prefer AFT, starboard, higher floors, and near elevators. Been on the Escape twice. To me, midship is far from the elevators down the long "Shining type" hallways. I feel the higher floors give you a better view of the water. And starboard side gives you the views , generally, while docking. Personally I'd never do anything below 11, too low down and you look out at lifeboats. Have been on floor 13 and 12 I think picking a cabin comes down to what you like to do on the ship. On the Escape, Aft has the buffet, H20 adults area and where some of the parties like 80s night are held, cagneys, main dining rooms, short walk from aft elevators to casino. I also find it quieter as anything remotely near the pool (which is more mid-forward) and you'll hear the music If you like the pool, have Vibe passes, like the atrium then mid and forward are better for you.
  6. Hi all, please help settle a disagreement between our group lol We disembark feb 9th, a Friday morning, Galveston from NCL and are flying out from IAH. Jetblue has moved our flight to 11:30am. I think it's cutting it way too close. And some think we can make it. For those that have sailed out of Galveston and flown from IAH, what's your experience? We've never been to either that airport or cruised out of Galveston before, always from Florida so we're going in blind here. Large group of 44 people, 40, 50, 60 yr olds, have cruised big groups before and will be booking a private shuttle bus prior. Thank you!!!
  7. The Escape by far. Just google the Epics bathroom/cabin layout. Says it all.
  8. I'm not quite sure you can remove the drink package perk. For our Feb 2024 cruise, I asked our cruise consultant, who is amazzzzzzing btw, if we could switch my daughters' boyfriends' package to a soda package and if it would save money. She said we could not remove it and save the $$ unless it was a medical issue, and we'd have to get a doctor's note to remove the price difference. He is an epileptic and does not drink alcohol. In the end, it would have saved I think 200 because we could get the drs note. but decided to just keep it in case he wanted virgin drinks.
  9. I've never cruised Royal before so it's hard for me to compare. But the Escape has been our favorite ncl ship so far, cruised her twice. Not sure what the smell dislike is, maybe from the open casino but as a smoker, well, doesn't bother me lol. The H20 adult area is great and has a nice grotto water feature. The balconies on the Escape are slightly bigger than some of the other ships such as the breakaway, bliss, and getaway.
  10. Cozumel is wonderful. We've done Mr. Sanchos beach club twice now and will go again in Feb 2024. Super easy to grab a taxi after walking thru the mall shop from port. Costa Maya we've done the ruins tour with Native Choice tours. Wonderful company, same exact tour NCL offers but at half the price. You need to walk out of port about 10 minutes to get to their offices and it was very safe, no vendors or people hassling you.
  11. Hi!! We have vibe passes for our sailing on the prima in February. Just curious how many passes total they sell, how many people fit in the prima vibe. Thanks!!
  12. What I found helpful with photos was have at least 2 of each person, downloaded on your computer in a separate folder so you can pull them right up. I say 2 because I thought I had a good clear photo of husband and it just wouldn't accept it. They accepted the one I was questionable on lol
  13. Downy Wrinkle Release. It'll change your life! Lol
  14. Hi! Do the balcony rooms on the Escape still have the single serve coffee pots? If so is it the same disk kind and can you bring coffee disks with you on board? Ty!!
  15. the escape balconies are bigger than on the breakaway, getaway and bliss. you could fit a lounger but not much else. id ask your room steward when you board if they could possibly get you one
  16. Have watched 4 super bowls on past cruises. They've had it playing in the atrium, pool deck and h2o. I'm sure it's been other places but those are where I've seen them. Some areas, ships, had food some didn't. I can't recall what the timing was, but i do know they don't show the commercials.
  17. This is going to sound a bit confusing but it's actually really easy to form a group and no, you don't have to pay if someone doesn't go thru with final payment. I've booked the last 5 group sailings for my large group. Our group sails again in 2 weeks so unless they've changed anything since here's my understanding... Absolutely call and form your group. You will need 5 cabins to be considered a group sailing. No, you will not have to pay for someone's cabin if they drop out. So say you book 7 cabins... and only 4 of those make the final payment...then they would cancel your group arrangement and your group perks would be forfeit but you'd still get ncl's standard perks for whatever cabins you booked. If you book 7 cabins and all or at least 5 make final payment... then whoever is the group leader will receive a tour conductor credit which is worth 1 passenger sailing free. This doesn't include taxes, port fees etc. So I'm totally rounding here but to give you an idea if you all book balcony rooms and your cruise fare per person was 1500 pp then you'll get around 800-1000 credited back to your form of payment. mind you, im rounding a bit. You can choose to keep that for yourself or divvy it up to all your cabins. If you choose the latter, then i suggest you pay your cruise via bank card as they credit it back to original form of payment.
  18. does the size of the photo file matter?
  19. does the pic have to be with a solid background, like a blank wall?
  20. Hi all! Can someone tell me what's the online check in process like now? Is it still basic info? And do we need to upload a picture?... if so what are the picture requirements... I've searched ncl and can't find that info and want to get our pics set for this sat check in . Ty!!! it's been 3 years since we sailed but have had crusies cancelled due to covid, our last one being 6 days b4 we left last jan.
  21. like the others said... make the reservation for 5 or 6 people. when you get there or are finished eating (can't remeber which) they will take your cards and deduct a dinner if you have free 2 dining or charge the guests room. the whole process is super simple
