  1. very helpful lx thank you. We will take a taxi to the airport. Would we be better off staying in the Old Montreal area? Not sure where most of the sights/shops/restaurants are but I’ll also do some research. Looked at the Fairmont QE and while it looks lovely it is a a bit more expensive than what we want to spend
  2. Hi lx. We are considering staying in Montreal for 2 nights. I see that you recommended the Fairmont QE hotel and it looks very nice. How far is downtown from Old Montreal and is it walkable? Are there any areas we should avoid walking in downtown or Old Montreal? Also, does the shuttle bus going to the airport pick up at any hotels or do you have to go to a bus station? Thanks so very much.
  3. Sailing in a couple of weeks from NYC to Quebec City. DH and I will stay an extra night in QC after the cruise and then we have a direct flight from QC to NYC. Now wondering if it is worthwhile to take the train to Montreal, stay there a couple of nights and then fly home from Montreal (only thinking of it now as we see on this forum and social media sites that a lot of folks do such but some do so just because there are more flights out of Montreal than QC). We have fully refundable flights from QC to NY so we would not lose any money if we were to change. Just trying to figure if it is worth the effort to find new flights and a hotel and things to do in Montreal at this point. Anyone have thoughts on Montreal they care to share? We would not be looking to do any “excursions” per se in Montreal, just walk around the city, maybe a hop on hop off bus, sight see and go to restaurants. Thank you,
  4. I saw a Pickle Ball court on the Prima. I think it may have been smaller than a typical Pickle Ball court.
  5. While not recent experience, in the the past they would enter the found item into a catalog on board (maybe it depends on perceived value? ) and indicated that they would send it to the lost and found in corporate in Miami if no one claimed it by the end of the trip.
  6. Hi. Considering staying an extra day after our cruise ends in Quebec City. Are there airport sgphuttles that will pick you up at hotel going to the airport or just taxi and Uber? Any opinions on best options? We will try to learn and use some basic French phrases (and maybe Google translate) as we are not sure how much English is spoken in QC Also how long of a ride from Upper Town QC to the QC Jean Lesage Intl Airport? And approximate cost. Thanks so much.
  7. That sounds like a good idea, perhaps we will do the same.
  8. Thank you very much GTJ. That could be workable since we can tour the city itself on our own…was just wondering how to get to Montmorency Falls and back with reliable transportation.
  9. Hi. We missed out on booking excursions for Quebec City on an upcoming Sept cruise. we would like to tour the city and from what I understand we should visit Montmorency Falls. Does anyone have experience doing this on their own or booking with a company outside of the cruise line? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  10. After you call and make payment, if you find that you also have trouble making dinner reservations or excursions online or in the app (for instance telling you to try again later) you can call CAS to book dinner reservations and the Excursion desk to book excursions. Apparently some with CAS bookings have been experiencing technical issues with such for the past week or so
  11. On the Prima in May they had some specials in addition to the standard menu.

  13. In addition to all the good suggestions above, if you intend to eat at a specialty restaurant you may want to consider Teppanyaki as the tables on the ships we have been on usually accommodate up to about 16 people…so in that case you would be sitting with others. We usually pick that restaurant early in the cruise because in addition to the food and the ‘show’ it is a nice way to meet some others that you may run into throughout the cruise. We have met folks ranging from solos to a family of 13 and it has always been a nice and fun experience for us.
  14. Thanks Omaha. I’ll wait a day or two and see how it goes
