  1. Ok. Sure. Because you were wrong we are NCL apologists? Maybe saying Only NCL and not meaning got lost in translation from Canadian to English?
  2. You can choose to do refundable deposits with Royal but it increases the price of the cruise.
  3. If its a US cruise, its only the departure port.
  4. Did you not write this? It has not happened on any other cruises were have been on. Only NCL. There may have been groups on other cruises but no venues were ever closed.
  5. Why do you think this is only NCL? I was on the Oasis OTS and they shutdown two venues for the whole cruise for a wedding party. On top of that, they would set aside room for the party at other venues which made it hard to get a spot.
  6. If you were trying to compare NCL to the Oasis class ships, I would say you will be disappointed. In general, the mass market cruise lines are more similar than they are different. They all have similar venues just with different names, similar on board activities and pull their crew from similar parts of the world.
  7. I would think MDQ is on the lower end of costs unless the rights to produce is expensive. No real set changes and not a lot of players involved.
  8. Which ship are you on? Moderno is on a bunch already.
  9. Sharing apps and deserts are ok. They don’t want you ordering a steak and splitting it with someone without a credit.
  10. Ok. These are not as unpopular as it may seem given the separate bedroom and the butler for not a crazy amount more than a balcony. On the Prima cruise I have booked, there are still a ton of balconies left and only one Family Suite. It’s more likely that you would get a balcony from someone that bid into the Family Suite.
  11. Inside rooms have a queen bed that can convert to two twins and two pull down beds. All other categories will have a queen that can convert and a double pullout sofa bed. You would need to book a Haven room to get three beds.
  12. A couple of posters on here have said they do not hear anything. What guaranteed balcony are you getting. These rooms are the Family Suites with Master Bedroom and come with a butler and concierge. I doubt you would get one with a guaranteed balcony.
  13. Huh? Real two way radios use independent radio frequencies that the store bought radios can not access.
  14. Also, when you are booking restaurants, book the cover charge restaurants first as the system will notice you have the dining package and not charge you for it. If you book a la carte restaurants first and then book cover charge above the credits you have, the system will charge you now for the cover charge.
  15. The difference between a la carte and cover charge is more for guests not using dining credits. Cover charge restaurants allow the guest to pay a set price and choose what they want off the menu. An example of this is the teppanyaki restaurant where you pay $59 and there is no difference between choosing the steak option vs the chicken option. A la carte has pricing for each item and your bill is based on how much you order. When using dining credits, you will not pay anything additional at either restaurant unless you select items at a la carte restaurants that are labeled with a dining package supplement charge or if you order more than allowed which someone posted above. The supplement charge is only for 1 or 2 items on the menu and its usually higher end items like the Surf and Turf in Cagney's. See below for labeling. If you choose the Surf and Turf, you will be charged $25 extra.
  16. Its just a call center. They are trained to follow a script and are unable to deviate from that script.
  17. Yes but Black Friday sale is legit at least for ones on their private islands. I know they discount those 50% during that sale.
  18. That makes sense. If you are planning on getting the refreshment package already then it would make sense if you also drink a couple alcohol drinks. Some people like to factor getting the non-alcoholic drinks into the breakeven amount but if you aren't normally going to pay for those items without the package, it shouldn't really factor into it. I see it as a nice perk to be able to grab a bottle of water on the way back to the cabin but I don't count it as a drink.
  19. I use $12 as the average drink price. $71.99 will put the breakeven at averaging 6 drinks a day. This of course would be less if you normally pay for bottled water and specialty coffee.
  20. It brings in families. I have friends that are not normally cruisers that are planning a Viva cruise because of the go kart track. I also plan on getting week passes for my kids to ride as much as they want during our Prima cruise.
  21. If you get there before your arrival time and there is a line from the current timeslot, they will move you to a holding line. Once the check in line calms down, they will let people with later times into the line.
  22. Are you saying there was not anything holding back the sargassum like below? Summer is the worst time for the bloom to hit Mexico so I am surprised if true.
  23. Thank you for your review. I hope the remainder of your trip goes just as well. We will be on her in December and can't wait. Is the MDR menu rotating or is it the same every night?
