  1. Can you believe the prices in 1962, those were the days. I remember paying 25 cents for a pack of cigarettes, twenty five cents for a bus or subway ride in Chicago. Ticket price for a grandstand seat at a White Sox or Cubs game was $1.25. I was 16 years old in 1962 and managed to get a vendor's job for the baseball season at Comiskey Park and Wrigley Field, sold Coca Cola for 25 cents, peanuts for 15 cents, pop corn was 25 cents and an Ice cream cup was also 25 cents, commission was 20% or 5 cents for every Coke you sold.
  2. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Weather has been warm but we haven't seen the sun much this week which is really rare for the Sunshine State. Good selection of days, what would we have done in our teen years without a jukebox in our favorite hamburger joint. Einstein was a genius but sometimes wise men probably have to solve problems. I would try the meal but pass on the drink. Huge upset yesterday at the World Cup with Saudi Arabia beating Argentina, France looked tough as they beat Australia quite easily. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  3. Lenda, I was going to include the Challenger but then there might have been no stopping me as I have a pretty good memory and I might of gone on and on with more memorable occasions and started to bore others.
  4. Have a great birthday! Some days are etched in our minds forever as we remember exactly what we were doing like the Kennedy assassination, July 20, 1969 when Apollo 11 landed on the Moon and the terrorist attack on the USA on 9.11.2001.
  5. I agree with all you said, the US went into a defensive shell in the second half. I did think that 9 minutes added on for stoppage was fair.
  6. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Good selection of days as I like cranberry sauce and I love taking drives but I don't have freckles. The quote is probably true for Hemingway as he had issues. Pass on the food and drink. USA with a disappointing tie against Wales in their first game in the World Cup, if they want to make it out of the group round and advance they must now get at least a tie against England on Friday and then beat Iran while England beats Wales. Of course there are other scenarios like the USA beating England but I'm going with the most probable. My finger is getting better and I feel like I can play golf but I'll wait until I see the hand surgeon next Tuesday to get the OK from him. I still have slight swelling on the tip and it's still a little sore when touching things. The thing is that I have an interlocking golf grip and my left forefinger never comes in contact with the grip on the club, I tried swinging the club a few times without any pain at all. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  7. We sailed on the NA right before the Pandemic and sailed 5 times on her sister the Eurodam so we are very familiar with those ships which are our favorites.
  8. We stick with the basics with a Manhattan being our favorite pre- dinner cocktail. Sometimes we go with a Vodka and Tonic or a Bourbon and Ginger ale.
  9. We also like the Vista and Signature class ships more than the Pinnacle class ships
  10. Thanks for the review, makes me feel a lot better as we sail on the NA on Dec. 4th, some reviews have been pretty negative.
  11. I've never heard of the port of the day, thanks for the photos but I don't think I'll add to my bucket list.
  12. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Going to be a little warmer today with a high of 77. November is one of our driest months in Florida but we had quite a bit of rain yesterday. Good selection of days except for odd socks day, don't get that one. Interesting quote. I'll pass on the meal as I don't care for curry. I'd try the drink. World Cup is underway in Qater, USA plays Wales today at 2PM EST. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  13. To tell the truth I haven't had a great pizza since growing up in Chicago in the 50s and 60s. As far as cruise lines go I think Celebrity has the best pizza along with the best food of all the Mainstream lines.
  14. Welcome back, hope you had a great cruise, we sail 2 weeks from today on the Nieuw Amsterdam, don't know what to expect with reviews all over the place on the HAL boards.
  15. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Not a chamber of commerce day here, cool and breezy with some showers, high of only 70. I think I get the quote. I love fudge and I love peanut butter but I'm not wild about peanut butter fudge. I like enchiladas so would give the meal a try. I'll pass on the drink. Bought a new bike yesterday but had to make some adjustments when I got it home, wanted to take a nice ride today but not in this weather. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  16. Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida. Another cool morning but the high is going to be 81 which is better. Good selection of days. Good quote from a good book and movie. Pass on the meal but an Old Fashioned is a great cocktail. My finger is getting better, still a little sore but swelling is down which is good. It's Saturday morning so it's out to breakfast in a few minutes to our favorite diner. Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.
  17. We also took 27 when we lived in Sebring. 27 to I-75 to I-595 right to the port, easy as pie.
  18. We were on the Infinity on the Oct. 1st cruise and had a great cruise, super entertainment with excellent service and food. Infinity is a beautiful ship, just the right size with the traditional promenade deck with deck chairs where you can read a book in a quiet place while watching the ocean pass by, also very clean and well maintained.
