  1. Good morning everyone and a happy day here because the Ravens and the Vikings one. One game was exciting, especially the ending for the Ravens and boring when the Vikings had a field goal for the only score, done in the 4th Q. Thanks for the daily and fleet reports @richwmn. My phone has a lot of apps but I have learned to delete as many as possible when getting a new phone as the data switch can turn into an overnight process. Thanks for the definition of Holiday Food Drive for Pets @grapau27. I used to do that all year long at Petco, they used to have a basket at the front of the store to place purchased food for needy pets. Sadly I haven't been in Petco in years. UNICEF has their hands full in Gaza. Bruce Lee's quote on the importance of time is very true. RIP PTZ Lou. I would like today's dish if it wasn't so carb heavy and it would go well with today's Primitivo. Pass on the martini. Thanks for researching these for us @summer slope @cat shepard and @dfish. Thanks for the daily cares and celebrations reports @JazzyV, prayers you have pain free days ahead along with that better sleep. @Mr. Boston sympathy on the loss of your Aunt Alberta. Thanks for the photos of Portland. @57redbird prayers that your back surgery goes smoothly and a speedy recovery. Supposedly our Luggage Direct bags leave on the 14th but we haven't gotten our tags. First thing after signing off I will be calling them. It is not the end of the world because we drive but not having them is a huge help with an early disembarkation. Someone who lives at the large condo complex we know so well departing Fort Lauderdale sent a beautiful run of 20 photos of the Eurodam departing FLL two days ago. It was on one of the many HA pages on Facebook. Have a lovely day! Nancy
  2. Good morning everyone! Thanks for the Daily reports Rich! I was a very frequent library user in my youth so know the Dewey Decimal System well. I remember some of my favorite horse books were in the 919 section. Animal rights are extremely important and so happy that there is more of a move to get away from factory farming and puppy mills. Pass on the lager. A very true quote by Sparks. I look forward to the photos of today's port. Pass on the lamb, the punch, but today's blend vino looks very good. Thanks for today's cares and celebrations list @JazzyV. Prayers for all of those in TN who have suffered loss of life and so much property damage. Vanessa prayers that you had a better night and for a good one tonight. Prayers for all in war zones through no fault of their own, Ukraine, Israel and the innocents in Gaza. It is a gloomy day but it is nice because it is above freezing. After tomorrow we have almost a week of sunshine and in the 40s and we are happy with that because December can be much worse. The Ravens game today looks to be miserable weather so it probably will be a low scoring game, no weather problems for John's Viking's game in the dome in Vegas. Have a nice day and Go Ravens!! Nancy
  3. Bon Voyage to @lindaler @LAFFNVEGAS @POA1 and @dobiemom! 🍾
  4. You are so right. Knowing the early symptoms can save a lot of misery down the road.
  5. Good morning everyone! Thanks for the Daily Reports @richwmn. My Christmas cards are complete and going to the mailbox as soon as I am done here. We left our casino hotel yesterday without leaving anything behind but a couple of visits ago I left my Kindle. they said I could come pick it up but since it is 2 + hours away they kindly shipped it to me. Genocide prevention is important but little work that the UN does can stop it. The Uighers in China, genocide in Ukraine by Russia and ...... on and on. I don't get the quote and never got philosophy in school so will not waste any more time on it. Thanks for the phots of Funchal today @StLouisCruisersand @grapau27. My goodness @marshhawk you have some stories to tell of your visit there, especially Chuck getting caught in the bathroom! Thanks for the food and drink each day @summer slope @cat shepardand @dfish. I will take today's pinot noir for sure. Prayers for everyone on our care list. @JazzyV I pray you had a better night's sleep. Prayers for all in war zones through no fault of their own, Ukraine, the innocents in Gaza and Israel. It is a rainy day here in SW Michigan but it is 50 degrees which is wonderful for December. I will get a lot more packing done as pickup is in 5 days although we haven't gotten our labels but I understand that is a universal issue right now. We will have a marathon session of football tomorrow at our nearby casino sports book. My Ravens Rams game is at one and it not televised here, it would be fairly lousy there with that big storm hitting the East Coast. John's Vikings game versus the Raiders is at 4:30 and isn't televised here. Life used to be so simple before the NFL moved their Sunday Ticket to streaming. John's shingles has remained unchanged from yesterday so the medication is continuing to do its' job. He has 6 more days to take it. Have a lovely Saturday! Nancy
  6. Vanessa, I read your message and I am so sorry to read of your horrible pain. Sincere prayers for your healing. 🙏🙏🙏
  7. Good afternoon. Our two day road trip is over and now I am playing catch up at home and will try to look at yesterday's daily. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports @richwmn. Thanks for the lovely photos of Rhodes today @StLouisCruisers @Quartzsite Cruiser @Cruising-along and @Vict0riann. @JazzyV II hope you had some sleep last night and are getting closer to a treatment for your leg pain. Thanks for keeping the Cares and Celebrations lists for us as you go through all of that. Prayers for everyone on our care list and those in war zones, Israel, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. @grapau27 what a lovely Christmas tree! John's shingles did not progress from the 2 by 3" spot on his stomach and it is starting to dry up. Thankfully it hasn't been painful for him. He still has to take the Valtrex for another week. After I finish this I am heading out to dump all my winter bird seed into the trash barrels before it starts to rain. We are above 50 but winter returns tomorrow. Have a lovely Friday
  8. Good morning everyone. Thanks for the daily reports Rich! Pearl Harbor is an important day to honor. The others I will pass on. Thanks for the photos of today's port Sandi! Pass on the meal, the cocktail but today's wine looks good. Prayers for everyone on our care list, those in war zones Ukraine, Israel and the Innocents in Gaza. @0106 I am sorry you are missing Punte del Este, it was one of our favorite ports on Grand South America. Great news at the last moment I had three applications for my three scholarships! John's shingles has not advanced and his doctor called in a rx to Walgreens. It is going to be in the 50s today but windy made worse by being near Lake Michigan. We are going out for Chinese today, none near home and probably a lakeside restaurant for dinner. We had a nice dinner at the steakhouse on property with no steak in sight for us, all starters with a bottle of Merryvale Chardonnay. Have a nice day!
  9. Prayers for @JazzyV Vanessa I pray there is some relief on your horizon. Prayers for @Cruzin Terri that your energy level gets back to normal. Prayers for everyone on our care list, and those is war zones for no fault of their own, Ukraine, Israel and the innocents in Gaza. I completed my Christmas cards yesterday! We were preparing for leaving for a 2 day casino trip to New Buffalo by the Indiana border which is popular with Chicago visitors in the summer when John showed me a rash on his stomach. He has shingles I am 99% sure. I have always told him if you get a rash or tingle to let me know ASAP. Thank goodness it was on the front so he noticed it. My company that I worked as a sales manager for many years developed both drugs needed for the treatments for shingles acyclovir and valacyclovir so I know shingles treatment inside and out. I told him let me know ASAP as I have a stash of valacyclovir for cold sores. He has already taken one dose and has a call into his doctor to get an Rx. We will go forward with hour trip and celebrate an early birthday dinner at their steak house. We lucked out on the weather, this time of year that area is prone to large snow squalls as it is right at Lake Michigan. Have a lovely day everyone! Nancy
  10. Good morning everyone! Thanks for the Daily Rich. Last time I had gazpacho was on the Volendam when he had a wonderful Spanish executive chef. He is also the same chef that Penny has on her current cruise. Miners are important and the culture of the Upper Peninsula of MI is still mining related although logging has overtaken it as the major occupation now. I love in the mitten state no idea what a mitten tree is unless it to give away mittens. Great quote by Swami, similar to Christ's parable about the birds who neither sow or reap but never worry about their next day. Congratulations to Taylor Swift as Time's person of they year! The meal sounds good, pass on the green drink and today's wine sounds lovely. @Cat in my lap Happy Birthday!! 🎂
  11. @cunnorl thanks for the photo of Maeve Grace. She is a cutie. @superoma so happy to read Dena is starting to mend. @ger_77 thanks for the update on your friend Wayne. @Nickelpenny your executive chef is the same Spanish chef we had on the Volendam. We ate very well on our trip. Wow on the rough seas. Are you on way to Fanning Island?
  12. Good morning everyone. Another late football game, another late start for me. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports @richwmn. Thanks for the explanation of Ninja Day today for us @grapau27. I volunteer for my garden club that focuses on education and community beautification. I celebrate blue jeans my main uniform. A great quote by Campbell and true for most people other than those persecuted for their religion. I will toast to end of Prohibition. Thanks @JazzyV Vanessa, continued prayers for your healing from your leg pain. @cruising sister thanks for the update on Baby Murphy. Prayers for Dena and Wayne. Prayers for everyone on the care list and those in war zones through no fault of their own, Ukraine, the innocents in Gaza and the remaining hostages. Bon Voyage @GTVCRUISER! It is snowing here but it is supposed to stay in the 30s so the roads will be fine. A trip to the bank for us and I will try to get caught up at home, Christmas cards still waiting and packing my suitcase for the December pick up date. Have a nice day! Nancy
  13. When I did my Aruba search I came up with photos from my first visit there January 16, 2018 on the Oosterdam at the end of a Panama Canal transit. Aruba was substituted for Cartagena. We did a catamaran cruise and it was horrible. Community snacks, nothing sugar fee and no beer even. Second photo was on February 18, 2019 and that was on the old Rotterdam sailing out of Tampa. Other photos are in my phone. @StLouisCruisers so sorry to read about your flood, I hope your plumber can fix it quickly!
  14. Good morning everyone! Thanks for the Daily Reports Rich. Cheetahs are beautiful and unique and should be celebrated. Bankers are very important also. Cookies are great too, I haven't started our Christmas baking thankfully we don't have a sugar shortage like @ger_77 has in Canada. I will pass on the meal, the bitter cocktail but today's Chenin blanc looks lovely. I have been to today's port many times and will go again twice on our next cruise. I will try to find some photos. @seagarsmoker Good luck on your interview today. @JazzyV I hope that your MRI can get to the bottom of all your debilitating leg pain. Prayers for everyone on our care list and those in war zones for no fault of their own, Ukraine, Israel and the innocents in Gaza. Prayers for the remaining hostages. Another mild day here but accompanied by clouds. I will do some house cleaning and we have a 4:30 appointment to get a new copy of John's will and advance directives. I told them they needed to go in the safe when he got them but he demurred and now he can't find them. Grrrr. We will probably pick up some takeout because no restaurant is open in town on Mondays other than Mexican. Have a nice Monday! Nancy
  15. Smart move to have a 6:00 pm flight. All the cruise crush and wheelchairs will have probably already departed.
  16. Thanks for posting this, definite pass for us.
  17. @grapau27 thanks for reminding us of the beginning of Advent. I had been so overwhelmed with getting to the Greens sale and working it I forgot to start opening the days on my Advent calendar.
  18. We were in today's port on January 7 this year. We took a HA shorex which was a Monster bus to go look at flora and fauna in the jungle. It was air conditioned which was terrific as it was incredibly hot that day. The red flower plant is Tithonia, Mexican Sunflower the same plant that I grow from seed at the cabin which is a real butterfly magnet. Photo from cabin at end.
  19. Good Sunday morning everyone! A late start again for me as I was up until midnight watching the two big football games. So happy Michigan won! Sad Alabama won, still suffering from them winning everything for so many years. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports @richwmn. People with Disabilities should be celebrated every day and everything done to make their lives easier. The last of the green bean casserole was gone the day after Thanksgiving and I gave the big bag of crunchy onions to my older sister with all of our leftovers so no more for 2023. Let's Hug is always a good day! Great quote by Billy Connolly. No matter what when I hear the WTO I think of the Lone Ranger so I can not be considered sophisticated. A great day in history when the first heart transplant was attempted. It opened the door to perfecting the procedure. We were in Puerto Limon this year and will share photos later. Pass on the soup, the truly weird cocktail and the vino. Thanks for finding these for us each day, @cat shepard, @summer slope and @dfish. @JazzyV I hope you had a better night and getting some relief of your constant leg pain. Prayers for @superoma friend Dena. So happy to read that you are home again Roy! I hope you had a wonderful time on your cruise. @ger_77 prayers for your friend Wayne. Continuing prayers for Baby Murphy. Prayers for all in war zones through no fault of their own, Ukraine, Israel, the innocents in Gaza and the hostages. I have to head out to a nearby town to pick up the arrangement my friend scored for me at the end of the greens sale when they were marked down. Another day of football here, perfect because it is gloomy and light rain but gratefully above freezing. I will try to wrap up my Christmas cards and send the comments about the greens sale while they are fresh in my mind. Have a lovely Sunday! Nancy
  20. We will be aboard the Eurodam for 52 days starting January 3 in an aft-Neptune. After reading all of these comments I will try to do an "almost live" from the Eurodam. Do not expect any reviews of evening entertainment but if we go I will share. We are on a number of HA shore excursions, thanks HIA so will report about them also. Of course my favorite, food porn. I hope the Starlink allows that plan.
