Room service is very good. I can recommend the roast beef panini and the chocolate cake isn’t bad either. Had room service breakfast and they brought double orders of everything. Dh managed to go through it all. Had bacon eggs sausages yoghurt and excellent coffee.

Pinnacle grill this evening and we have met some lovely people on the ship. The Dutch Cafe is a bit winner with lattes and cappuccino. Went to the thermal suite this morning and highly recommend it . I feel like a new woman . Met some people trying Holland for the first time and they were impressed with the ship. They had many sailings on other lines.

Good afternoon from sunny Fort Lauderdale, Happy Thanksgiving to my friends here. I want to give a shout out to Air Canada. I was quite nervous about flying from Pearson today but they handled everything beautifully. We hadnreserved wheelchair assistance from them and just wow. They took care of everything including customs boarding passes luggage drop off . Everything is closed but they have fresh Starbucks in the lobby here somI am a happy bunny. We met lots of other pax going on Rotterdam tomorrow and I brought my water colour supplies and card making kit so maybe we can have an informal art session on board. I just don’t wan to mess up that long very ship with paint lol

Good morning from Hamilton Ontario. It’s cooler here today and we are expecting the Alberta clipper to drop some snow. We had A big party this weekend for the Grey Cup. My favourites won,the Montreal Alouettes. Green Day was spectacular and my son reminds me they were back in the day. Hope everyone is well. I am nervously packing for the Rotterdam on Friday.it has been over three years since the last cruise on Niew Statendam with my two sons. Sadly my youngest passed away suddenly two years ago so this is bittersweet. He loved Canaletto and took a shine to he manager there so much so tha he sent Christmas gifts to the ship post cruise. We weren’t able to find out if she received them. Anyway Sean will with us in memory and I will have a meal there to remember him.

Three years ago on Niew Statendam I had this creamsicle desert with white chocolate. It was the best desert I ever ate anywhere. It looked like a creamsicle bar.

Good morning from balmy Hamilton Ontario. The bas strike is settled so the Grey Cup classic football extravaganza can commence. Usually when the West comes to town they bring their horses and cowboy hats. Lots of fun for someone who’s never been out west. The leaves are still on the trees and I am making my slow cooker French onion soup. My recipe is simple,six onions peeled coarsely with a few dollops of butter and equal measure of olive oil( health deal) simmered for an hour . I then add a quart of readymade beef stock(lazy) and some nice red merlot to it with a bay leaf. After my nap I then check its contents and hope for the best. Pour into soup bowls and top with some cheese( whatever is hiding in my fridge) . Oh I forgot put some stale bread on top then the cheese and bake at 400 til bubbly. Add the wine and Bobs your uncle. I read with trepidation that Fort Lauderdale is drenched with rain today and hope everyone there is okay.

We are flying in then and staying at Hyatt Place. Just wondering if there are any eateries open near the hotel. I have limited mobility and will be there in the morning. Thanks
