It's pathetic there's no mass transit at all  between Houston and Galveston. No bus, no train, no nothing. There are too many people traveling between the two cities for there to be no mass transit.

I don't have Facebook, so it appears Saltwater Moms isn't an option. And, I really don't feel like I should have to pay for shuttle services when many other cities offer cheap mass transit from their airport to their tourist destinations.

I'll probably drive from Fort Worth to Galveston like I did last cruise, even though I don't like driving and now have flight benefits I can use to fly from DFW to Hobby.

A city of 50,000 does not not need mass transit . All passengers seem to be getting between Houston/Galveston

  2. Well the Presidents Cruise is a lot of hype . Chaka Kahn was the worse performance of any we have seen on any stage . A lot a lot of folks left performance early . Along with other rumors . Lots of negative posts deleted on F B pages and terrible communications with pre cruise emails and deliveries of communications on events on board to cabins . We will never do another presidents cruise .

Royal Caribbean now uses and controls terminal 10.  This includes Dec 17, 2023.  Can anyone advise regarding my concern?

There has to be an  error in port schedule.

PORT schedule ALSO shows Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas on December 17 at Terminal 25.

    Royal Caribbean controls 100 % Terminal 25.

On same day two ships cannot be at same terminal .

After looking up my Dec 10 princess cruise, I reserved the  Express Lot adjacent to terminal 28 where the port schedule says it will be docked..I just discovered that upon return it will dock at terminal 25!  My reason for choosing the Express lot was its wonderful proximity to the ship. We are 76 years old, can manage about 1/2 mile walk. I dont have a feel for how far the distance will be from terminal 25 and that lot..They say there is no shuttle service due to short distance. Advice?

What is source of this information ????

The ones along Seawall Blvd are certainly not within walking distance.

They would require a taxi, Uber or a shuttle to the cruise terminals.

Walking distance wasn’t not mentioned as a priority. Everything is still close to terminals . The island is only about two miles wide as Galveston Cruiser says also .

AFAIK, cabin class only applies when you're coming INTO the terminal to board the ship, once you're back on land we're all steerage 🙂

Suite passengers DO get early numbers/groups to leave the ship, which theoretically gives them a little advantage getting out of the terminal, but no "status" perks once you get your bags.

    Yes good information

Pier 14 "walking distance".  SSB is right as always, but just wanna ensure scale (and heat).  If you are able-bodied and have a concise amount of luggage with quality wheels, etc - for sure.

If you have young kids, older folks, out of shape folks, people sensitive to the heat/sun, you pack like we do with 6-8 steamer trunks of luggage, it is July/Aug heat/humidity in Galveston, raining, etc - then it can be a pretty long haul.

There are shuttles, but yes, sometimes there is a wait for the next one and you have to "load on" your luggage.

It is a good 500 yards from the open lot, maybe another 150yds from the covered section.

    Thanks for compliment.
Drop bags and fellow passengers off at terminal , then circle back around to garage . Then Walk or transfer shuttle over to meet others and walk  in together at terminal. Check in bags are already on way to ship .

  9. Galveston is a major tourist destination in itself .

There is more to do on the the island of Galveston than most of your Caribbean destinations .

Start your vacation early and come in early before cruise .

We will be getting on the ship as you are getting off.

    For comparison for you:

I just purchased airfare from Southwest into Hobby, they are having a great sale through today. We are also coming in 2 days early. We are in Denver, so December and Southwest are not exactly compatible..

We have High Rollers by Shugg booked for transportation from the airport, hotel to port, and then port to hotel. We usually prefer Lyft but our children are flying in at different times and High Rollers was willing to make several pickups and I can pay for it all in one transaction. She was very reasonable too.

We are booked at the Harbor House

I cannot recommend any of it as this will be our first time in Galveston. But Erica of High Rollers is getting rave reviews on the Royal Caribbean Galveston board.  And the Harbor House looks like fun, so we booked it.

    Your selections are all good

We used the Galveston Express Lot on our June 3rd sailing. Use the instructions that are emailed and not GPS instructions. Email said to turn onto 37th St. My GPS said to turn onto 33th St. A policeman was at 33rd St and not allowing anyone to turn there. I had to turn around and go back to 37th St.

Also, do not forget to have your QR code yo be scanned at the reader.

If your sailing Royal come in on I45 straight on to Broadway continue to 14th street and turn left , you will see ship , cross Harborside  straight into terminal . Do not follow directions on causeway bridge , keep going straight until 14th.
