  1. Yes if they were part of that group. If they just so happened to be standing there and caught it on video, then I would hope that they would have immediately turned it over to security, but don't feel they should be punished. There's a difference between being an accomplice and a witness. From the sounds and proximity to the idiot, I feel as if they were in on the mischief.

Yes they seem very much involved.

  2. Just a little backround on us. We typically travel on Celebrity and have only used Carnival once. The ship we were on was the Magic and we loved it. Always something fun going on, we especially liked the comedy club. (Don't use the pools or slides). My question is we are considering either the Glory or the Splendor for this time next year and wonder which one is the better ship in your opinions. We have sailed on the Summit and they have 8 great cabins at the front of the ship referred to as the Sweet 16 and I am looking for something like that here.

We will book a balcony cabin (the cheapest) and wonder if there are any "secret" cabins that offer better or larger balconies as well. (or which ones to avoid) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This has been asked a few times. See previous thread below:

  3. May will have the most kids onboard. I sailed on the Triumph out of NOLA in September, and there were probably 20 kids on the ship. I also took the Triumph in May and the hot tubs were crawling with children making jokes about peeing in the water [emoji107]

That number sounds super super low for any month.

  4. I would say May is the month that will have the most kids. Most schools starts in late August/early September so parents will likely not want to take their kids out of school that early in the school year.

On the other hand, September is in the peak of the hurricane season. Some of the worst hurricanes come in that month.

I would chose May over September. The ships are big and you can always be somewhere where there are no kids. The kids have their own areas where they can go.

  5. So a mixture of boredom and nosiness has led me to find Grand Cayman's cruise ship schedule. A few interesting notes about it....

    - Sunshine begins showing up every Tuesday in Grand Cayman beginning Oct 2018 and running through all of 2019. While she could make stops there while cruising from port Canaveral, she certainly wouldn't be doing it from her other home ports including New York.

    - Vista makes stop in Grand Cayman basically every other Wed as part of her current 6/8 day schedule. This continues to be scheduled through May 2019. But beginning in the end of Sept 2018 Vista is also scheduled on the Thursday of the week she isn't scheduled on a Wed. So to me it looks like either she is going to sail a very predictable schedule with lots of western itineraries or they are using that as a placeholder for Horizon once she makes it over to the US which could be around that same time. Coincidentally a week before Sunshine starts showing up.

Maybe some hints about where Horizon will home port and what other ships will shuffle? Not that I have been able to make sense of it. I am still thinking there will be some increase in sailings from Ft Lauderdale but that is just my opinion.

That's some thorough investigation by you. I hope Horizon goes out of Ft. Lauderdale.

  6. No problem. I thought the same thing at first too before I read through her posts.

I can't believe he was that stupid and that people were actually there filming him do it. And then they have the lack of brains to post it for the whole world to see. I am amongst the bunch that hopes they find and ban him and his accomplices for life.

The person filming was laughing too and seemed to have been enjoying it. Should that person be punished too? (in your opinion)

  7. I got my 2 hour delay email last night. I leave Friday. I plan on getting to the terminal whenever the shuttle gets me there and get in line then. I figure they'll get to me when they get to me but I'll be there. I'm glad I knew I may be getting one so I didn't get freaked out. I'm just ready to get on a plane to get on a boat to sail away for a few days. I have no other agenda other than to relax. Can't wait, even if there is a delay! :):D

You are leaving on my birthday. Enjoy the cruise for me.

  8. My point was that no matter what someone posts here, if its negative about Carnival people turn into "flamers" because their opinion is different. In fact we had great reservations, but my father wanted to come and it was in his budget. The food was disgusting, period.

Yes, we are booked on a different line next time. Here is where people insert the piss off, good riddance posts about going on a different line. I have seen it here a thousand times. Other posters doubt something outside of their experience and try to destroy others with differing views. Hence my remark about flaming.

    I love whiskey.

That's true. If you go to the RC section and post bad about RC they will be objective as well. The posters here are mainly CCL lovers.

  9. I was about to say I am sorry to hear of the OPs experience but after seeing what AdGuyMG posted I am starting to doubt credibility. Everyone have different taste but the level of these negative comments seem too far out there to believe.

OP.. If your comments are true, I would suggest trying a different cruise line. Maybe what carnival has to offer does not fit your taste.

  10. First my condolences to you and everyone who is mourning the loss of your boyfriend.

I am surprised you could not find someone who would take the trip. I would call them again. Do not tell them the details of the first conversation. Just get the other person's calculation to see if there is a difference.

  11. Carnival's Cyber Monday deal is live, and as a public service, I present some of the details. Try not to kill the messenger, OK? :)

It's 50% off deposits, upgrade for $1 more, and upgrade + OBC for $2 more. Good today only. The cruises I have booked didn't change price, but YMMV. This one isn't worth getting out of bed for, IMHO, but if you're up anyway, might as well check it out.

Good thing I did not put on my jumping shoes because I wouldn't be using them.

  12. sorry but this seems beyond shortsighted. what happens when you cannot get a job, or cannot get one that lets you afford to be able to cruise?! and I do not mean simply financially.

before Mr Spook retired, his employer was very flexible about time off. as long as his command wasn't gearing up to deploy or had a major inspection coming up, he could take leave if he had it on the books.

now? not so much. one week out of every 5 is basically the only time he can take off now. he is the sole instructor three out of the other 4 weeks.

we live less than 8 hours from three ports and less than 10 from 4(FLL is tad bit further out) there is no way in heck we can even THINK about taking another cruise for at least another year due to his work commitments. if we wanted to do Tampa, FLL or NO, we'd have to get a hotel the day before just to be on the safe side. Mobile only has Carnival, so it is extremely low on our list of possibilities.

and no we did not move just to be able to cruise more.. it was the first company that offered him a job that wasn't insulting pay and responsibility wise.

what exactly are you qualified to do and is there a market for it down here?

I understand. I aware of the risks involved. I would not move until things are sorted out. I have to get a job first. Even if I don't get to cruise as often as I want, at least I will get to do some weekend getaways and won't have the hassle of flights to the ports
