Thanks for the informative review.
Can I ask what time you arrived at the port for embarkation?
Which room did you have in Deck 7 and did you experience the smell in other places on Deck 7? What other places on the ship did you experience the smell?
I sail Magic on Dec. 1 with Deck 7 cabin and I would be super pissed if I experienced the same cabin issues along with the smell.
Same cruise but I'll be on deck 8

I’ve seen people write that they don’t like some ships because they are too large. As for myself, there is not such a thing as a ship being too large. It just means I have more options. What about you?

Someone once explained on here that you have to sail before you can sign. Personally, we've signed for a few drinks before we ever set sail. 😉
You sail then you sign the expense bill before getting off the ship. Gratuities etc

Going to follow along, as I said, I will be on the Magic in April for my 50th Anniversary. But first, I’m on an even older ship in February. The Glory.
Glory is a great ship even though it’s older.

Thanks for the review. I will see her in just over a month.

I see there is a charge to ride the ski lift. do you need to prepay or do it there? do they can American cash?
I don’t even remember if I paid or not because it wasn’t anything expensive. I certainly did not prepay so if I paid it was done right there. It’s also well within a short walking distance. The ride just gives you some aerial views. -

so you can take one of these right off the ship in MOhagany Bay?
Yes it’s right there as you get off. You can see it and the beach from the ship.

I'm thinking about changing my Itinerary, My DW was wanting to go somewhere else so I booked June of 2020 on the Glory, but my DW has read a few negatives on safety at theses ports and isn't to sure of our booking know.
You don't have to venture out in Mohagony Bay to have a good time. You can just take the airlift to a nearby beach (which I think is pretty decent). and have a lot of fun.
All islands/countries (even USA) have places that are unsafe. You just have to try to stay within a certain boundary. Go to tourist areas.

I appreciate the replies, but all of the people making the obvious comments about the ships age, salt water, rust (I never asked about rust??), etc, aren't really necessary. You are pointing out the obvious....... I have been on ships that were 20 years old and looked new. It all depends on how the ship is holding up to the thousands of people weekly getting on and off. That is why I asked for recent passengers to post. All cruise lines care for their ships in different ways. Carnival isn't known for top shelf. I think this question is perfectly valid.
Light me on fire for this post if you want, I have just never understood why people have to make snide comments. It just brings down the mood of a "vacation forum".
Maybe people misunderstood your question because of the way you phrase it. Be thankful for the replies even if they do not directly answer your questions and then explained (rephrase) what you meant.

I think Glory is a great ship. Has enough for adults and kids

I will be on her in less than 2 months and will let you know. Rust around the edges is the least. I have been on a ship just just a few weeks after dry dock and still see rust. It did not stop my cruise fun one bit. Even the people who I were with who were complainers had a blast

First of all I am glad he is ok. I am surprised that no one witnessed him falling. Why did his newlywed wife not followed him if he wandered away when they were heading back to the room? That is kinda strange.
Cruise ships rails are not very tall. However, they are tall enough so that people will not fall over unless they climb up and slipped or someone throw them over. This will be another story to hit the news section which gives Carnival a bad rap.

It can be cancelled and refunded to the original form of payment. I don't know whether this has to be done a certain number of days prior to embarkation.
If what robc1972 posted is correct add it to the ever evolving ways people find to cheat the system.
Edited to add that I should have said last I know of it can be refunded. It's hard to keep up with policy changes.
Haha. If I don't get the FTTF for the other room I will have to cancel the one I have it on.
As I am writing I thought of a great idea
1. print the boarding pass
2. cancel
3. buy the FTTF which will become availabe for the other room
4. Print that boarding pass
5. Cancel that FTTF TOO.
Now I would have 2 unpaid FTTFs. Lol
I am too much of a chicken to do that. I don't want to get embarrassed. It was just a thought. 🙂

Seen it open up within a month or two of sailing.
Some will get it, print out boarding passes and luggage tags and then cancel it.
You get to bypass the line outside and just get into the regular line inside and get your luggage earlier.
Are you sure you can cancel FTTF? I know you can cancel the prepaid gratuities but I am not sure about canceling FTTF.

I booked late and we are sailing at the beginning of December, so currently FTTF is sold out. Has anyone ever seen this open up prior to sailing?
Are you on the same cruise as me? I have been booked since January for 2 rooms and I was just able to grab one FTTF last week. Still checking daily for another.

Those upgrade prices seem really high to me. I got upgrade offer from oceanviews to balconies and it was $58 each room. Of course I took it 🙂

I was just looking this up the other day. We sail Thanksgiving week. So I was really hoping it would be decorated.
Depends on the ship. Changes every year. See link.

Good info. Thanks. So it seems like the ship will be decorated the same day we cruise.

Hey...You're on my cruise! Yep the ship will be decorated and they'll have Christmas activities. I did Dream the same week last year.
